Nice place for day out in cochin. We visited for friends. The farm is like a tiny island on the Vembanad and that is the secret of the fresh fish, praws, clams, and more served here during lunch meals, the cost of which is included in the ticket of Rs 250 per person.

A couple of weeks ago I happened to visit Palakari Fish Farm. I decided to book by calling the number given by a friend. But I called that number several times because the phone did not pick up so we decided to go directly. Before leaving I called one more time and a boy answered the phone. After that the boy said something and got loud. We hung up the phone and ordered both of them and went there. On the way we said to each other whether to go here or not or not to go here and finally went there. If we put aside the bad experience when we called. It is also a very beautiful place. A good place to enjoy a whole day. We enjoyed the food and the behavior of the staffs, the pedal boat and bait etc.a lot.

One thing you should be aware of. Make sure you have a proper system for receiving calls. Previous callers sometimes have the same experience. You pay attention to that.

An ideal location for a day out with friends and family.
Entry fee Rs 300, includes a normal Fish curry meals, A boating and pedal boating opportunity in the pool and can do little bit of fishing as well.
At additional cost speed boat rides and Shikara boat rides too are available through the vembanad backwaters

However, may not engage us for an entire day.

Good place for family one day trip. Preferably evening time, because during the morning hours it is really hot. Food is ok. A small park is there for children but it is not well maintained.

An attractve place to visit with family. Meeting fecilitiess and aminities are arranged with good food.

They don't know how to utilize the essential things available there.if people wants to come, come otherwise no need.this is their attitude

It's a strip of land between two bodies of water. It's really a shame that is closes so soon- the view at sunset would be amazing. There is also a hatchery/ fish farm but one hardly sees much of it.

Superb experience. Good for a family outing. Has fishing and boating options. Parking is limited and be ready to walk if you want to experience the place in full. Be careful if you are with kids as most of the area is open and not fenced.

Very poor arrangement in restaurant. Entry ticket is rs 300/. If food can’t be served timely and arrangement is not there, take only entry ticket. Start some stall. We can buy anything as per our need. Serving ladies need training and how to behave.

Don't go with family on holidays, you might be in a long queue for lunch. Best time to enjoy the ambience is after 3.30pm. Supporting staff could have improved their language while interacting with customers.

Location is good. Bit infrastructure needs improvement. Bathroom facility and snacks/ food arrangement needs improvement. Congested restaurant and lack of systems. Some dedicated supervisors required. Washbasin without water.
Area can be better utilised as it is a beautiful site with natural scene.
Give training to staff to behave properly. No manners and no sense of behavior.

It is very beautiful project. Unfortunately, the worst staff. We request the department manager to take necessary action immediately.
Possitive:
-Excellent nature, beautiful location.
-Boating is awesome

Negatives: pls improve immediately.
- Restaurant staff ladies are old and very rude with visitors. They are thinking that visitors are their slaves. So, please train them to behave properly with visitors. Or change staff immediately.
Teach them to be polite with visitors to attract more visitors.
- Keep a complaint box to know visitor’s views
- There is a toilet in restaurant which they keep locked after 2.30pm. So, no hygiene toilet available at the premises.
So, please make 3-4 toilets with a cleaning staff to keep toilet hygiene always. Or allow access for visitors to restaurant toilet after restaurant time also.
- The manager should communicate with visitors to know their views.
- food is not served in floating restaurant yet. We need to keep floating restaurant to be available during working hours.

Very bad behaviour and services from staff. They will give false information. I waited nearly 1 hour for a speed boat, at last i took refund. The reason for the delay from staff is "they were taking lunch and now they are in meeting. " Very irresponsible behaviour and attitude.

Really nice place, beautiful scenery and good food, but there's no water in the toilets.not upto our expectations but ok

Place is very beautiful, with lot of activities like boating, fishing, park etc.
Need improvement in the following: -
- Cleanliness in toilets.
- Behaviour of staffs
- Telephone receptionist must attend calls.
- Bill should provide for all monies collected.
- an area should be arranged like a beach for swimming and bath.

Normal ticket price is 300 per person. We can spend a whole day and they provide a complementary fish curry meals. Pedal boating is also complementary. Children's play area needs a little maintenance

Nice and beautiful place to spend one whole day. Kids playing area, boating, fishing and other activities. Food also so very good. Enjoyed alot?

The price is too high for the things that they provide, we went there to spend a half-hour of an afternoon but we were charged 350 per head. It includes some beverage and ice cream options, but we didn't go there for that. Plus the place had some foul smell as well and we expected to have boating as it had a very large area of water. No wonder it is rated this low.

A good casual experience for families. There is a long walk area near to the back waters. There are some swings, pedal and speed boats. Lunch will be included in entry fees costing around 300 per person. Special fish dishes can be purchased by paying a premium.
Good for a one time visit.

Nice place to relax. There is nothing much to explore or experience. It's just a walkway in the middle of the lake. At the end of the path, have some good climate change. There is a long walking distance from the parking space. There is not much good parking availability. Have a good lunch with delicious curries. Also have some lake fish special items with extra charge.

I don't think the package is not value for money. Maximum we can spend 1hr to 1.5 hrs there. Pedel boats are available, this may be the main attraction of palakkari. Also we can see some fish agriculture.

Charges will be 300 per person including lunch, boating, and experience. Also they were given a small size ice cream. Still I don't know why they added it to the package. Really not good. It's just for naming attractions. I have a lot of expectations before we went there. Only 1 Time we can go there. Nothing special than one time visiting.

For the timing, the fee may change. Evening time packages are in a different fee schedule. Also they have some other packages that include different attractive activities. We don't see that much more.

Otherwise all good for a small relaxation

A typical example of how bad a government administered place is being running. No cleanliness, no proper management of visitors, no managed parking. If no proper management and administration it will have a natural death soon.

This place has lots of potential to attract tourists and native visitors. A unuque walk path has both sides of water

150rs per person would give ppl a chance to ride on peddle boat, go fishing, enjoy the kids area and enjoy the beauty of the place. More bigger packages available depending on crowd and timing.

Open now. I went there at 4pm ticket 100rs for adult. Extra rs150 for speed boat -15min.
Tea snaks free. Pedal boating ride free.

Decent place to spend a couple of hours, just an hours drive out of Kochi
Need more place for rest and other activities
Food and catering needs more attention

Really unsatisfied as the place is poorly managed. Rs. 250 entrance is quite expensive compared to the food they provide. Its an average meal and the cost is high. They wont allow fishing in all places, but some place where the fish is scarce to find. The staff are not very much cooperative. Even for the wooden local made fishing rods, the charge is Rs. 20. They wont allow to bring ankler from outside. Its really crooked way to squeeze people. There is no option for swimming as they have given in their website. Only thing we enjoyed was the speed boat ride for which we had to pay 750 for 5 persons. The speed boat staff was, by the way friendly. Really pathetic place to spend, I wont recommend this to any one.

Went ter with family on a weekend.hated d place. Nothhing much to do other than fishing, pedal boating n simply sitting.tey wont allow u to fish in main areas- as in the areas where there are loads of fish.instead they let us fish in places wer ter is not a single fish in sight.fish curry meals wer decent with a single curry n fry.for kakka, chemmeen, karimeen u have to pay extra-100,250 etc.pedal boating cud b fun if u dnt mind d scroching sun.overall worst experience- some staff wer also rude n mocking.tis cud b a gud place for outdoor shoot though.but never coming bak 2 tis place for a day out again

A fantastic family hangout and for couples and friends too.beautiful scenery, lot of benches to sit and spend your quality time with your loved ones on the shore of the vembanad lake. Land mark is kattikkunnu from their you can see the board of matsyafed, fantastic food, 250rs per head and food included in it, for anything special food you have to pay extra. Normal food includes fish curry and fish fry plus two three veg curries. You can drive your vehicle and park inside the farm, lots of activities like rowing, angling, pedal boating etc plus many packages are also avilable, like a day in a house boat.

It a good place to spend a full day to relax. It's value for money if you wish just to relax. I felt the staff to be rustic, but friendly. Certain areas need more maintenance.

We cant give a star rating for this. Anyone who is planning to go, please dont plan for this place. Ultimate waste. Rs. 300 for weekends and there is nothing to do inside. Food served is not upto mark for the price. Only incl activity for this package is pedal boating which can go a fixed limit. Staffs are not friendly. We have to give another Rs. 20 for fishing rode which will cost Rs. 3 net.
So please go this place and waste your money
