Palmgrove Lake Resort

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Palmgrove Lake Resort in Alleppey, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped onto the property, I was captivated by the natural beauty and tranquility that surrounds this hidden gem.

Room are stinky, sticky floor, unhygienic bathroom. The location is very very good but expected clean rooms for the amount they charge. Loads of mosquitoes. Be aware of it. Also, the guy at the reception was little rude. When you greet your guests, please have a smiling face and welcoming attitude. Overall you can stay here for the location rest nothing is fancy.

Very good location, bed size in premium cottage is not even queen, food order online is highly recommended as in house reasturant is below standard. Breakfast spread was below average.

Rooms and location is good but dinner was worst. The charges are abnormally high compared to taste. Not cooperative

Mosquito Resort - felt that the resort Manager is kind of racist and a person who normally judge a book by its cover.we as a family travelled from chennai to Alleppey via Train.from railway station we took a auto and reached the resort. Looking at us getting down from an Auto, the resort manager asked us, are you at the right place? Really? Only people travel in car will stay in such resort? What kind of stereotype is this. Stayed here for 2 nights with family. There is No swimming pool. Don't know why they are claiming that its a 4 star resort. Sticky floor, small rooms, water leaking from the tap all the time.morning breakfast they gave just poori and thats it.nothing else.after i asked why nothing else, next day they added dosa, wow seriously? Dont know why i paid 11500 for 2 nights for this pathetic service. The location is good where u can see the house boats passing by and thats the only good thing about this resort. Staffs dont know to greet and smile. Worst thing is mosquito and insects. You cant fo out after 5 PM and in the early morning as you will get ant bites mosquito bites.will never come here again.

Amazing experience, We stayed for 1 nights in the hotel and it was a pleasant experience. The staff is courteous. Credit goes to their receptionist Mr Rinosh John staff for being on their toes providing exceptional service. The room was well maintained so is their washroom. Food was a delight. The sight and scenery was amazing. I would recommend the resort to all for a visit with friends or family. My overall stay was good and i would not have expected any better, I hope that me and my family will visit you again soon.

Over all good some minor things related to washrooms can be fixed. But over it was a nice property near the backyard to backwaters.

Though location was really good but service was not upto the mark as per their charge.we have to ask for very small and basic things.

Best place to get true Alleppey experience.
Property is facing the backwaters and you just sit in balcony and watch the boats passing by. Sunset When we reached the hotel we had to travel in a boat to reach the hotel which was great experience. Staff helped to arrange shikara ride and boat ride at very reasonable rates. Staff also aranged for a early Auto at 6 AM to catch a bus to munnar. People running this place are doing their best to serve the guests and are extremely helpful.

It's a lake side resort placed on the back waters. It's a huge place with different options for villa. The room's are spacious, clean and very nicely maintained. The only thing of concern are the mosquitoes, due to presence of water. Keep a pack of Odomos handy. Also a swimming pool would be nice.

Very bad manager, bad management, bad food, bad behaviour. No professionalism at all.

Excellent stay in natural beauty. Lake side view was amazing. All house boats pass from this lake only and this scenic beauty is impressing. Exotic location of this property. All the amenities were excellent.
Well experienced young chef Mr. Shiva impressed us by his delicious and mouth watering breakfast.

Excellent location and property. However reception and food to be improved. Limited dishes and basic breakfast. Rooms are clean. Ponds in premises are places for crickets and mosquitoes to create noise at night.

Rooms are not at all good too small. Even found a baby lizard in bathroom and centipede in room. Food is too spicy and they do not refill if it is over. Lighting is too deem and dark. Not a good place to stay but the location is vey good.

Excellent location and property marred by lack of attention to service. Limited food choices, no buffet dinner only a la carte. Limited choice in breakfast. No intercom facility.

Resort location was very good.atmosphere is very nice. Food was not good. There was no variety. Tea, coffee was not available. It is disappointing to see only few items in menu. Staff is not flexible. Rooms had no almirahs. Customer service is very poor.

We stayed at the garden villa. The space behind bed around windows was full of dust and coweb.
They don't even have a security guard at the gate. Gate is always open. No pool. No minibar in rooms. No almirah/closet in rooms. They suggest you to order from Swiggy and Zomato. Limited breakfast spread.

Beautiful resort.very nicely maintained.the staff was really polite and friendly. The food was made to order, fresh and tasty. The place was also reasonably priced.

Giving this particular rating just because o f the manager's cold welcome. During the time of check-in the gesture and the hospitality shown by the person is very bad. No welcome note nothing. Always talking about the price and other things. Food quality is soso.

A magnificent beautiful resort just beside the Alleppy backwaters. Well maintained, courteous staff, helpful manager, tasty food and scenic views, what else one can want? This is definitely one of the top stays in Alleppy. Do look for pineapple, mango, guava and coconut trees on property grounds. The food is also tasty and economical.

Arrogant staff behaviour, we arrived in resort 2 hours before checkin time they were asking for additional half day price to check in.

I am giving 3 stars for the beauty of resort,
However, its not at all worthy as there are no basic amenities available at the hotel,
No wifi, no canteen, no restaurant, no proper lights in the night.
Its good resort only for day, for night its horrible.

Great place for large family get togethers. Its a cool natural place along the lake front. We celebrated our Vellappachans birthday in a grand way here.

Palmgrove offers a lush green environment set aside a beautiful Punnamada lake.

Pros:
Cottages were cozy and is comfy enough for two people but might be a bit packed for three.
The cottages have a sit out either in the front or in the back. An ideal place to chill out.
Friendly and cordial staff members make your day.
Boating and fishing services (arranged on enquiry with the staff).

Cons:
The property could have been a bit more developed facility wise

Taste of the food ordered wasn't even close to the amount it came up to

The property had a lot of stray dogs inside while we were on visit, so people with an aversion to dogs due to phobia or religious matters, kindly have a prior talk with the authorities.

Bathrooms did not rhyme well with the cottage.

Palm grove is a beautiful place and located at a Stone's throw away from the city centre, near the finishing point venue of the boat race.
It is a very well maintained property, and the staff are very courteous. Cottages feature an open bath area, which is really nice!

The resort is filled with trees and beautiful flowering plants and birds. Orchids on areca palms add special beauty to the gardens. The place is serene and natural.excellent place to spend your holidays. The ambiance is peaceful. The manager and other staffs were very friendly Room are good with open bathrooms and great view to the lakes and boats passing by. Shikkara boating in the venbanadu lake was yet another beautiful experience.the staffs in boats were very friendly and welcoming. It was an amazing experience to spend 2 days in the backwaters sipping the coffee during rains and watching the backwaters, boats and the life of people in allepey.the restaurant also serves good food with a view of lake. This resort was also super affordable. Thank you for making our trip a memorable one

First of all, There is no 4 star facility. The hospitality is very poor. They are not even to give a coffee for the guest. They encourage to order food from Zomato or swiggy. They won't allow the guest to use the restaurant.

The place is situated in a quiet area, the surrounding areas of the cottages were muddy and waterlogged at places and couple of stray dogs were present too. The rooms and bathroom were clean with air conditioning.complimentary breakfast was included which was ok. There is resturant inside but need to order in advance for lunch and dinner. Do bring some insect and mosquito repellent as any where outside the room and the bugs will bother you for sure.

Extremely restful and serene place with abundant greenery. Good food, courteous staff and very very thoughtful service. Came for 2 nights but the bliss extended our stay for another 2 nights, On the whole a place to come back to!

Good food, courteous staff, rooms are spacious and neat and there's a scenic view of the backwaters. Overall, really enjoyed the stay.

No kitchen inside just brought outside based on pre order which is a odd one for a resort (May be due to Covid situation)

Palmgrove lake resorts is one of the best resort in Alleppey it is located on the banks of backwaters very peaceful and beautiful environment, the place is lush green and the cottages were very cosy and quite best for couples and families the hotel staff were very courteous and helpfull the arranged boat ride from the hotel backside itself which was mesmerizing and soul soothing experience, the breakfast was very basic and tasty served in open style cafe very hygienic the crowd was less as we visited non season time but had a lifetime experience will visit again and recommend all my friends

Average Place, attraction is all about the location punnamada, if you sit on the back water side can watch houseboats going. Had dinner, price was reasonable. Morning complementary breakfast was not impressive, it was buffet but items were very limited.

The resort stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful, the location was very convenient for getting around with nature. If we were to travel to Allappey again, we would definitely stay there again! And big thanks to BIBIN.

Such a beautiful place to be in Allpey. The hospitality they showed made us feel home. Would recommend everyone to stay here if u plan to stay in allepy. Bibin the manager of the resort was more than helpful and very friendly.

A beautiful place to stay. It has access to both lake and road. All facilities were good. They also provide shikara for backwaters. As we had already booked it.our shikara came to pick us at palmgroove itself.

Property is fantastic and it's location is excellent but don't expect round the clock service of any kind. Food is a big challenge, very very basic menu, need to order 2 hrs before, no requests are entertained. They do help in getting you your shikaara rides

Best resort in Alappuzha (Allepey). Adjoing to back waters. With beautiful backwaters view. Very well managed kitchen.

Any question you have is answered with charm and knowledge, nothing is too much trouble and the service is quiet and efficient. We had 2 wonderful days here including a dawn canoe trip with mr Prasannan exploring the backwaters.

It was a excellent stay, above my expectations. The 2 day programme for wellness was amazing, the host & Doctor were helpful in Ayurvedic and my requests.

Very calm and pleasant stay with no disturbance. Nicely planned and well maintained resort that is attached to the back water (lake). A walk in night after dinner in the premises is just awesome, but a little humid. Garden view rooms and suites available that are well maintained. Courteous staff with room service available. We enjoyed our stay and thanks to the crew!

Beautiful quiet retreat. Clean rooms with AC and fans and an outdoor bathroom and shower (don't shower at dusk or dawn to avoid mosquitos!). Breakfast was good (Indian and Continental options). Staff organised a morning canoe trip which I would fully recommend (we paid 500 rupees per person for 2hrs) and sorted out tuks tuks for getting into town (definitely overpaid a bit on this!). Good stay, beautiful and very peaceful grounds right by the backwaters.

I have stayed there twice. It's so quiet, peaceful and beautifully placed along the backwaters. The food is very good. The best part is when you reach there, you meet Phillip himself. He's an expert at making anyone comfortable. I love this place.

There was no one at the reception at the time of my arrival.
No welcome drinks no nothing.
The views are alright.

Charming peaceful resort by the lake front, nicely kept common area and clean rooms in traditional Kerala architecture. The restaurant menu is limited and has to be pre-ordered, but all the dishes were really delicious. The staff was very helpful and friendly, arranged for a boat cruise and a town sight seeing trip for us. A good place to unwind and chill.

Very serene & calm place. Very comfortable even with two infants. Philip, owner, has given this place a personal touch, takes care of guests like family & good guide as well. Food is freshly prepared & organic.

A good location spoilt by poor service.its right on the banks of Alleppey backwaters and a well spread over property.however staff is typically nepali, and same guys do cooking and housekeeping.so stay here but eat somewhere else.

We had a 2 days stay at this place and trust me when I say it was one of the hardest goodbye! The scenic beauty, the backwater view from the cottages, the plantations were pure beauty. The food and the service was amazing and the staff was very supporting. The cottage rooms and services were amazing no less than a 4 star hotel!

This was disgusting. There was no worth money. They charge 4000 rs but room was ok. Bed was too small. Washing area is not proper make because their is no flowing.outside from room, Room is clearly show what happens in room.so many lizards are near surrounding. 2 in my room, I m so afraid. No wifi working properly, no swimming pool for bath, breakfast is not worth here.so don't come here. Please don't come here.

I could sit all day on the porch of our Villa and watch boats go by and birds fooling around. Beautful place!

It was a fantastic resort and experience but the main problem was that grass which was floating on water. I am requesting you that please remove that grass because someone can fall in it thinking that it is simply a land.
But in short it was a fantastic experience.

The resort is in natural surroundings opposite the lake with variety of plants. The rooms are neat & clean with all facilities. The front office desk is polite & cooperative. Only drawback is the variety of food in buffet breakfast & in menu is very limited as there is no market close by. Otherwise it is a beautiful place to stay in pure nature. Had a pleasant stay sans the food!

The place is calm and serene. Rooms are clean and well maintained. You might get a better deal for room rents if you call up the hotel instead of using online apps like MakeMyTrip. It is a small family run property with just 6 staff and 11 rooms and the staff told me that they have been around for 21 years. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Binu the manager was especially helpful. You can spend a lazy afternoon watching the house boats pass by:). I am not sure about the food as I only got breakfast from here. In general it was a good stay.

The rooms quality was that of a 3 star hotel and not of a 4 star one. But nevertheless we had a wonderful stay there.
