The experience of the safari was good! Though we were not able to sight much animals, we enjoyed the weather and view as a whole.

Our guide, Jiju, was very helpful. He guided us well and helped in getting the best experience. The Elephant Ride, Kathakali performance, Kalaripayathu performance and finally the Boat Safari! A big thanks to him for being the wonderful guide.

My wife and I had a fantastic time on the Elephant/Jeep Safari. Our guide, Appu, was extremely knowledgeable about not only the elephants, but all the other aspects of the tour, including that of a tea plantation and spice garden visit. He and our driver Dini, were open to all of our requests and would often stop the Jeep to allow us to take a picture. The highlight of the trip was first riding the elephant, then bathing the elephant, and lastly allowing the elephant to shower us. As an American visiting India, this was an unforgettable experience. We had a wonderful trip to Thekkady during the recent Christmas break. Mr. Jijo from Periyar Explore Thekkady Safari made it a memorable one in spite of all odds. He arranged for the tickets for the martial art show at a very short notice which otherwise would not have been possible due to the surge of tourist. He personally picked and dropped us so we were not inconvenienced at all.
The off road Jeep safari organized by him was a great experience too! It was absolutely thrilling to be taken through rough, rocky & steep terrains. The expertise of the driver is indeed commendable. Would highly recommend booking through him!

It was a memorable ride full of fun and the views were really amazing. But I couldn't spot any animals on the way, which was a bit disappointing, overall it was good

We had an amazing experience with Jiju and his team. Everything was very well organized. Jiju planned out everything carefully starting from the evening before the safari. The open jeep and forest experience was great. We saw five elephants, two of them very close. We also saw monkeys, peacocks, Malabar gem squirells, bison and deer. The food was great and we had several pinapple breaks. Overall a wonderful experience!

One guy jiju cheat with us. He tell us all Jungle Safari in RS 2500 and spice garden complementary with gypsy car but he sent us commander Jeep driver also arrogant he didn't corporate with us and and not give proper information about Periyar tiger reserve forest and he didn't show me all points and jiju didn't meet us.

Boat ride - u will not see any animal.just a slow
river ride with lots of restriction like no standing, wear uncomfortable life jacket…

nature walk - this is quiet good.but u will find lots of small leeches insect that can goes
from your shoes but jungle is dense and get fresh air feel… u rarely see any animals during this trip.

Forest department also provide their jungle resort accommodation that is very nice at price of 4k… just search KTDC resort…. All activities are nearby walking distance from this resort

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Thekkady, thanks to Jijo who runs Periyar explore Thekkady Safari. We had booked our morning jeep safari and boating through him in advance. Our chauffeur Raman. R was by our homestay at 9 am sharp. Took us around the forest, even helped us spot an elephant and a bison. The off road ride was very adventurous and exciting. The injikkad (lemon grass) was smelling heavenly. He is very knowledgeable about the forest and showed us many interesting and beautiful spots.
The tickets for boating was booked through the agency without any hassle.
We decided to watch the cultural show for which tickets were arranged by Jijo.
We surely recommend Mr. Jijo of Periyar explore Thekkady Safari for their excellent services.

We went for off road safari and full day forest safari with Mr. Denny organised by Jiju. We had a nice time. He is very good at sighting animals and showing us. We recommend their safari.

An amazing jeep safari to the edge of the periyar tiger reserve organized by Periyar explore and managed by Appu. The cherry on the cake was the amazing off roading to 3 view points situated in the tiger reserve. The safari costs Rs 2500 for the jeep and the experience is really worth it. Along with the jeep safari you have the option to choose the elephant safari. An experience of bathing the elephant an elephant shower and a short ride through a man made plantation of 300 mts. My Guide was Jiju. Actually we doesn't know well about thekaddy and tourist places must visit here.but he guided me and my family well.we enjoyed lot in Elephant safari, spice garden and Magic show. He also give us a clear picture where I have to visit and which route I have to go in my way back to home. Thank you man.

Hospitality at its best!
Periyar Explore team (Mr Jiju and Mr Rahul) helped us with all the details regarding the elephant ride, bathing, jeep safari and many more well in advance. They made sure we get the directions for the location in time and kept taking follow ups with us. They arranged a pick up for us from the bus station and guided us with the activities which we can do there.
We reached the place by 4: 45 pm so they tried customising a lot of things for us so that we can enjoy all the activities there. We received a complimentary spice garden tour from Mr Rahul Patil (I recommend everyone to go there)
The night jeep safari was the highlight of the tour. Mr. Jiju made sure we dont miss out on the jeep safari and he guided us through the whole jungle in the night with all the adventurous stories. He even arranged a jeep for us to our next location.
