Boating experience was nice. Recommended in early morning. Climate was very nice. To be ready with swimdress as the beachside is very tempting. Blue sea makes the site very beautiful. Perfect location to have great clicks.

It costs 2500 for 2hrs. They drove us to backwaters and then to the beach for 30 mints.
It's must doing here at kerala. The view is mesmerising

Went for shikara boat at sunrise. It was good experience. They took us through mangrove forest and the backwaters and then 1 hour stay at the poovar beach and back.

Worst and it is fraud please don't depend and tourists guides and they are such fraudsters we have lost too much money

One hour minimum rate is 2500. More than 2 people 500 rs each single. Boating is nice. We can move to kandel forest.

They over-promise and under-deliver, although I liked it as it was my first backwater experience.

If you are in trivendram or varkala this is a must thing to do in your itinerary. It is a complete beautiful experience of going through a mangrove and coconut forest followed by many spots and a beach. Definitely worth a visit.

Good experience on boat ride through mangroo forest and the locations were awesome. The birds will add another beautiful view to the ride. If you are a nature lover it would be a beautiful ride for you. In the middle of the ride you will be having good food (But Costly) and other staying facilities in floating restraunts and cottages. You will find a stay at the private resorts in the island as well.
The boating experience is unmatchable, something that cannot be completely described in words.

By the time we reached, the place is drenched in rain, but we just got a 5 min break and we were off and the next is awesome experience of moving in backwaters in mind blowing weather with just the right amount of Rain.

All along the way there something to look out for, the scenery, beauty of rain, the kingfisher birds, the tiny waves near the estuary, it was a pleasant and great experience

Boat Ticket amount is too High, amount is not same for every one, agents are froad. Need fix & reasonable amount for everyone

The boating experience is amazing. Elephant stone, sand beach where one side is the river and the other side is the sea, coconut tree, mangrove forest, floating restaurant etc is definitely a great experience. There r mainly of two type of trips 1.5 & 2 hrs trip. Select based on the time availability of trip.

Fantastic place for all family.evening is the best time to get sunset view.u can enjoy boating with lowest price 1000.to 1500 with 2hrs. Pls note if go there agents coming near and ask more money for boating. Maximum rate for 8seat boating in 2hr is 1500.

The one hour boating is really awesome. It’s like a lazy drive but you may witness a lot of different bird species.

Good place to view and enjoy solo
Not for beach. When we visited waves were to big and force.

Good spot for family outing. Service good. Beautiful scenery. Beach is good and clean. Cheap also.

A good tourist spot for a weekend leisure boat ride and a beach. Go with an open mind and dont compare.

Not a bad place. The only problem is that the water level was low. Which meant that the boat didn't have access to some of the better spot of the ride. This is my second time there. Just wish I had known about the water level problem.

This beach connects to the boating cruise. It was a good experience to stand at the tip of the Arabian sea.

Beautiful beach with a long stretch to walk. Not very crowded. Also you can go for a boating in the lake. The lake and sea are very close

Shallow water body is near and kids can play around. There was some restriction at the time of our visit (Oct first weeks 2021) as the official won't allowed us to go beyond the tea shops area. We came from the police station side

Feels like the last remaining beach in southern trivandrum. There is no more shankumukam, kovalam beach is almost gone.

Nothing much than the long beach. No amenities. Best to visit during sun set. Otherwise there is not much shadow to rest yourself.

Poovar Boating Beach is one of the under ratted spot in Trivandrum. Poovar Beach is 10 KM from Neyyatinkara and less than 8 km from Kaliyakavilai (Kerala - Tamil Nadu Border) There is fully functional market and also new police station situatied at the end of the beach shore so There is Clean and neet. Also Protection from the active Police and Lifeguards. Preferable time is evening or morning. At night Police evacuated the entire shores for safety purpose. No Hospital or Primary health center near at the poovar boat club. Fuel station is available with in 2 km.

Poovar island is a beautiful place with a lovely view of the golden sand beach. There are a lot of resorts on the island. The boating around is very good, and there are boats which take you to the beach. The other side of the island has a view of the ghats. The boats take you around the mangroves.

Listening the sound of the waves, feeling the calm atmosphere and my feet filled with sands, which makes my day completely happy because of the place POOVAR BEACH (Golden sand beach).
POOVAR, a tourist place located in Trivandrum district of Kerala. It is a isolated place famous for its backwaters and boating. And there is number of luxurious resorts with all modern facilities.we preferred estuary sarovar island resort which makes us to stay very comfortable here we can spend our time by playing, fishing, pot making, swimming, cycling, relaxing our body through ayurvedic massage etc.one who loves sea waters and sand can enjoy here without any fear. The resort provides boating facility from backwaters to seashore.
Winds on my face from Balcony during night time makes us to feel completely free and relaxed, such a beautiful and peaceful place, those memories can never be erased.

You'll be able to cross the dry river at low tide, because the sea and backwaters will be separated by sand dune.

You can also have boating starting from resorts situated on Poovar-Kaliyikavilai road to the beach to enjoy the beauty of mangrove forest and reach the beach.
A mind-blowing trip

A place which we can see both sea and lake. Boating, horse riding, camel riding available. Not much crowded. Perfect for outdoor shooting. Evenings are the sweet times.

No doubt beach is awsome but if you are addicted with goa not recommend for you.

Water flow is awsome, but still not developed till the end. No water sports available and no activity which we are adicted to see in goa.

The golden sand is there but not a eye catching moment.

If you are obsessed in kerala you must visit or skip that and pick up a goa.

Water sports are major missing and it is just a beach.

Keeping in view the popularity of the location, the Civic body needs to provide public utilities at a convenient place near to the beach.
Risky going to the place - no mask no social distancing.

The beach is very beautiful. There is the river in one side and the ocean on the other side.
You can do horse riding also and they will charge only hundred rupee for one ride.
If you want to come on this beach through road then don't get your luggage with you.
The other way to reach on this beach is by boat. They charge around 1500 for 1 hour and 2500 for one and half hour.
The boating is through the backwaters which is in the mangrove forest.
The beach is clean and beautiful and you will enjoy here.
