Punarjani's Kathakali Fusion and Kalarippayattu show!
The combination of these traditional art was a unique and captivating experience. The performers' skill in both Kathakali and Kalarippayattu added depth and excitement to the show. Overall, Punarjani provided a memorable cultural experience.
The Kathakali performance is a great experience to be part of. It’s a well organised set up and the artists are really amazing. It was our first live experience and will definitely recommend. The martial arts performance is just fine and is overpowered by the Kathakali performance and its hangover. You can buy the tickets on call or directly at the window. It’s not wheelchair friendly, so check if you need any assistance.
Both shows of Kathakali and Karalipetu martial art was superb. I request all Indians to promote these ancient marvel on world stage so that It grows and the artists get better remuneration and pride. Dr. P. N. Mukherjee
The Martial Arts display was incredible and something everyone should see when they come to Munnar. The atmosphere was electric and the performances were power packed.
The kathakali performance was good but the seats in the back were very cramped. They were not even seats, just one long very hard and uncomfortable bench and it was very warm.
A great traditional place, where you see the traditional art of warfare skills of swords and javellins and a hell lot of other weapons. The artists performing, called as the "Punarjanis", really have jaw-dropping skills and knows their game well. They show a variety of fighting skills, using different weapons. The best part, I found, was the fire show at the end. The guy will jump through the fire rings with all the enthusiasm. It's a must visit place, something as traditional as this is not something you get to see everyday.
Saw the kathakali and martial arts (kalajayi patti). Both the performances were amazing. The kathakali performance starts with a demo of the understanding of expressions which is a real fun experience. They even call audience on stage and perform with them during the demo. Timings: Kathakali - 5 PM to 6PM Martial arts - 6PM to 7PM Prices: three types of tickets for Rs. 200,250 OR 300
Awesome Marshal Arts performed by traditional punarjani community males. Breath stopping views, goose bumps after seeing their fighting stunts. A must see
The shows were a blast. A bit touristy but a fun introduction to Kathakali and Keralian martial arts. Each show is in a different theatre in the same building you can see one or two shows. We saw both. The Kathakali was a bit loud but lots of fun. I'd suggest the martial arts siow could have some more authentic music but still it was amazing.
This is a good place to witness Katha kali and Kalaripayattu. Ticket cost is 200 per program per person. And it's absolutely worth it. Specially the Kalaripayattu program is exciting at every point.
IF there is anything, I liked to the core in my Munnar trip it is definitely The Kalariyapattu show and Kathakali Show. First of all kudos to all the families in Kerala who does a lot to preserve this culture and traditional martial art and dance form.
Well as far this place is concerned, the performers are young lads. They offer two kinds of seating. Front rows and back rows. Front rows cost about Rs 300 and back ones Rs 250 (approx). It is worth to spend extra Rs 50 for the front row as you can witness it very close.
The experience is amazing and each show extends for about 1 HR. Must visit place and Punarjani in specific they did a fabulous job
