Better if you can visit there on week days. It would be really a mess up, if you visit there on Sundays or other holidays. The food taste is just above average. The ambiance is kind of okay (maybe because I visited there on a weekend). Pricing was reasonable (visited in 2022). The toddy which they served was very poor quality, if you are visiting there to have food, then it is okay. I couldn't find any reason to give a 4 star rating.
Great experience. They have variety toddy including the Cheera Mulak Toddy. Not too alcoholic though. The food is good but price could have been a bit low.
The landscape ambiance and the surroundings was awesome. EXCELLENT! The food was very good. 5 STARS for that.
The shop set up and the Interiors was so much below average. There is a boat for family dining. (only allowed if there is woman and kids). Good food, as mentioned before. But the fresh toddy (as they claimed it to be) had some additive to make people dizzy (even after 1st glass) and the fresh toddy was watered down. So giving 3 stars.
If they wer giving 100% pure toddy and the seating set up was more well designed and clean. I would have given 5 stars.
It was good before. I was having good experience, so I visited again yesterday with my family. It was over priced. Me and my family was suffering from food poison. We had fish Thala curry (Vatta) karimeen fry. Karimeen pollichathu. Kappa. Appam. And little toddy.
We reached there at 11am. Ordered Kappa. I think we were the first customers of that day so they gave us the left overs of the previous day. When we said that, they replaced it with appam.
The water body around the place is full of aquatic plants which adversely affect the scenic beauty. The shop owner arranged a free boat ride from the nearby jetty. The beverages supplied were not top notch. Food was average.
Had to take a small kayak/ boat from land to reach this spot which was tricky to find. This boat ride is not recommended for the elderly. The boat has to navigate through water that was covered by water hyacinth and the propellers kept getting tangled in the roots. The place is a shack that has very little cleanliness, Toddy was not that great and the food was nothing to die for. Popular amongst the locals and young crowd. Can just say it was an experience.
I had the most amazing food at this toddy shop in the middle of the water! The dishes were incredibly tasty and full of flavors. The unique atmosphere added an extra charm to the whole experience. It was so cool being surrounded by water while enjoying a delicious meal. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to try authentic local cuisine and have a memorable dining experience.
Rate is literally high can't afford normal person and food is average, average cleanliness, we ate food in a house boat. Service.is oke. I traveled in a വള്ളം. That service is very nyc no cost for traveling in the boat. In there most are families. It's good spot for eat with families good place for fishing,
The dishes are great. I especially like the kanthari kallu.woww it was just awesome. The best I felt was the beef varattiyath, tharav Kari, aavoli Kari and karimeen pollichath. The amount is just all u know these are kallu shaps so they will take much more than our rural shops. Do must try. Have fun friends.
