Though the aim of visiting Guruvayoor is not to get a good food rather than getting the glory view of almighty, I wish to share my recent experience I had from this restaurant. It was a clear evening where there was no any much flow. I had ordered the masala dosa and tea. Not much waiting I got the dosa which looks the rice selected for that dosa doesn’t match and looks overcooked with some burnt portions. Without whining I had that and was about to drink some water where it look water jug was empty. Looking around, there was a server walking towards our side, I asked for some water which he acknowledged with a deadly face and silence. Nearly 8 minutes I waited for the water which I can see the person I asked for the water has passed couple of times across our table where he showed his purposeful negligence for no reason. I was thinking for what reason a customer like me should pay and face such kind of unethical attitude which I can’t understand. While observing the overall service pattern what I understood is the servers are categorizing the customers based on their potentials for getting good amount as TIPS (if any). So if a server is attending a table, there won’t be any help we can expect from others because that table and tips (if any) belongs to that particular server which other servers are least bothered to help at least to get some water where they feel why should they do since they are not benefited.

If the management is not a part of this practice, your sudden intervention is required to stop this unethical way of dealing with the customers.

Ramakrishna Lunch Home, Guruvayur - Date: 31/01/2024, Wednesday, 9: 15 PM

I recently had a disheartening experience at Ramakrishna Lunch Home on the mentioned date and time. Unfortunately, my visit was marred by several issues that I feel compelled to share.

1. Rude Behavior:
The staff member who took my order displayed an inexplicable level of rudeness without any apparent reason. The lack of courtesy and failure to apologize for their behavior left a lasting negative impression.

2. Unhygienic Ambience:
Upon entering the establishment, I couldn't help but notice the subpar hygiene standards. The overall ambience fell short of expectations, raising concerns about the cleanliness and upkeep of the place.

3. Rotten Food:
To my dismay, the food served was far from satisfactory. I encountered rotten Chatni (With Ghee Road), which not only compromised the quality but also raised serious concerns about the kitchen's hygiene practices.

I believe these issues warrant attention from both the staff and management to ensure a better experience for future patrons. It is my hope that this feedback serves as constructive criticism, prompting improvements that will benefit the restaurant and its customers.

The hotel runs bcoz of its prev name and fame. I have been there 6 years ago.it was good back then. Now, it's service has drastically fallen. It's just near to temple entrance in East nada, that's why it's attracting tired and hungry customers. But for a Vada and a simple coffee, they took 28 mins to serve coffee and tell us that Vada was not available. Pathetic. There is no care if customers are waiting. There is no "athithi devo bhava'. No supervisor to see the servers. No one cares if a family is sitting and waiting for long without food before them. Gross negligence. I won't visit hereafter.
Even milk also gets spoiled by one drop of poison. And this is worst self poisoning.

Staff was very rude.was literally shouting at the customerss. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE. BELOW AVERAGE.staff behaviour was unbearable we walked away from the restaurant

They serve spoiled food. Especially the masala dosa. Had the worst experience at this hotel on 26/06/2023.

Good for breakfast and snacks. Only dosa and poori is available. Tea was quite good. Open from 06: 00 am in the morning. On the way to the temple.

One of the oldest Restaurants. Right at East Nada. We had masala dosa and coffee. Taste of the dosa and masala was good. Brought the old memories. Coffee was also good. Hygiene is at a level which you can expect at a very crowded traditional place like this. Only issue is the serving. We had to wait 10mins for someone to take the order. But after taking the order, food came in 5 minutes. The issue Is, only the waiter who’s assigned to your table will take the order. They should change this.

Oldest restaurant. Quantity and quality good especially dosa. Waiters are like some kind govt employees, they will take order within 5minutes or 50 minutes.

Time taken to serve a customer is very long. Approx 15 mins to take the order after being seated and another 20mins for the food to come.
I had ordered Plain roast. Roast was neither crisp nor golden brown or brown in colour, instead it was off white. Reason could have been lack of time allowed for the roast to cook.
Sambhaar is a thin watery sambhaar where turmeric water dominates.
The quality of food and service needs a massive improvement.

Very near to Guruvayoor Temple East Nada. Just 20 mtr to Q point. Only vegetarian food. No room service. Check in Check out at 2 pm. Reasonable charges

Had a worse experience at Ramakrishna Hotel. Me and my family went to have food from there and affected with Food poisoning. Those who ate Dosa and SAMBAR are mostly affected by ramakrishnas business mode. Customers who visit there are 100% pilgrims from outside guruvayoor and if these people do like this by providing worse food, how will they grow and maintain their credibility.
Their charges for food are ROCKET HIGH and if they provide such useless food who will come for a 2nd time.
If any food is WASTE, throw it away or give it to animals. Please dont serve it to pilgrims. If can't throw it away, take it to your own homes and serve it to your family and be proud.
Guruvayoorappaaaa please take care of this.

Had dinner from here on 12/02/23, and all family members including children suffered from vomiting and loosemotion. It will be good if the hotel pay a little more attention towards hygiene orelse it may negatively affect its future

The crowd management is pathetic. People coming are having no civility and dash for the tables without even looking for waiting in the queue. This is the same situation for AC halls as well. The issue is that this restaurant thinks that irrespective of how they service the customer, they are able to get continuous flow of customers because this is the nearest restaurant at East Nada at Guruvayoor Temple. I hope my review reaches the management and the people who lack civic sense to make amends for a better customer experience.

Food is ok, but servers are horrible.though there are many servers it will take more than enough time get one.

Vegeterian restaurant near east nada at guruvayur always busy with pilgrim customers. Breakfast quality is very poor.

Our entire family had digestion issues after having lunch from this hotel. The staff are very rude and service is poor.

We had a South Indian full meals. Unlimited meals at Rs 90 is really awesome. Those who live South Indian meals will like this food.
The waiter attended our table was courteous.

Worst service ever, we have waited almost 15minutes for the waiter to handover the token, and the serving was also pathetic, my father asked for pickle, as it was not served, and even after asking it is not served, and at last when we finished our lunch and we're about to handwashing he came with the pickle. Not only pickle almost all the service were disastrous and we didn't even got the chance to experience the taste of the food, because of this disastrous service

Masaladosa is a must try, coffee is good and batoora too is yummy. Loved the way they are maintaining their taste

We had breakfast and lunch in this restaurant during our pilgrimage to Guruvayoor temple. Breakfast had many options and dosa, Puri, Vada and appam all the dishes were delicious. But the service was bad and the service staff took the order after 15-20 minutes of waiting at the table.

We went for lunch with a hope to have sumptuous Kerala cuisines, but the meal was not worth ₹90/-. Service staff were least bothered about the customers. We didn't get curd or rasam after asking twice. The floor had become unhygienic during lunch hour with food thrown all over the floor. The restaurant owner was least bothered about all these since it had enough crowd.

Very Very bad experience. Got heavy food infection after having the lunch. Will inform the authorities.

Best vegetarian hotel very close to Sree Guruvayoor Temple located in East nada. For the past thirty years, i am a regular visitor, and they are maintaining food quality and taste at its peak. Now the customer care is also super. Breakfast Masala dosa is my favourite. Famous for meals too.

Very worst service. If you can really bear the humiliation from server, you can visit there. Even for seating adjustment in group you change the ordered table they won't serve though the food is ready and brought to the initially ordered table. You have to reorder the food. On sundays sometimes it takes more than 15 min to take order. Name sake manager and management, doesn't care for anything even when you raise complaint.

Very bad/horrible experience.

This restaurant used to be one of the best near guruvayur temple. We used to visit this restaurant Everytime we came to guruvayur to visit the temple. However, this time when I went with my family the quality of the food was not at all up to it's mark.
Earlier the food used to be filling, now the serving size has been drastically reduced and the ghee used had a bitter taste to it. The battura served is slightly bigger than a pappad and the chapathis where dry and tasteless. The price of the food still remains on the higher side, where in you pay 500rs and still feel like you have not even eaten 50rs worth of food. Never going to visit the restaurant again.

Ramakrishna lunch home is a place where you will get many kinds of South Indian traditional foods. But the food quality is very low and is unhygine.
