Rock Garden

Rock Garden Malampuzha -This place is on the way to the famous Malampuzha Dam. This place is maintained by the District Tourism Promotion Council of Palakkad, Inaugrated in the year 1996 this is first of its kind in South India. What makes this garden distinct is the fact that the artifacts displayed here are made of waste materials such as used plastic bottles and cans, waste pieces of Tiles, Granites, Stones, Electricity Fuse Carriers, Power Insulators, Broken Bangles, Melamine Dishware, etc. The garden was renovated recently and is a good time to visit now.

Winding mountain ranges of the Western Ghats in the surroundings add to the scenic beauty of this garden. Rock Garden is located 800 meters South of Malampuzha Dam. (Turn left after coming out of Malampuzha Garden).
But unfortunately to say this place is not that famous among tourist's which usually leads them to miss this wonderful place.

Garden is filled with architectures made of waste stones and plastic. Its a very good place to visit in palakkad.

This is a place where the art works are made of waste materials (Broken tiles, Granites, Stones, Electric Fuses, Bangles, Plastic bottles). This is 1.5 KM from Malampuzha dam (but on the way if you are coming from Palakad/Kanzikode)

Positives
* Entry fee (20 rupees)
* Well marked ways
* Restroom (toilets inside)
* Concept is good (usage of waste materials and themes)
* One shop in the front serving cool drinks, water and snacks

Negatives
* There is not much elegance or perfection in the way the art work is made.  
* There are few broken statues, some construction underway blocking the pathway
* Narrow stretch (only one person can walk) at couple of places
* Poor maintenance

Recommended as a last option if there is nothing else to do in and around Malampuzha Dam. Kids will not enjoy.

Located just 1 km from Malampuzha dam and nice place to enjoy the sculptures made by stones and wasted materials. It will be loved by the people who loves sculpture art. The parking area is spacious and entrance fees is less amount. Nicely organised with route directions. Maintenance and monitoring is to be improved to avoid the risk of unauthorised activities and damages.

It is situated along the right side of the road from the Malampuzha gardens at a distance of not more that 1km.
People spent almost an hour or two here.
The place includes rock sculptures and other figures made of different type of rocks and stones.
Children will enjoy this place.
The place is not mostly crowded.
Tickets are available at a counter in front of it.

Really good. Needs more publicity and good connectivity from and to Malampuzha where more tourists throng.

Excellent art work with statues. Different concepts have been visualized here. Waste items like Electrical fuse, switch boards have been used.

This place use waste tiles material making toys, all same not a different 20 rupees ticket, i don't like it

1 km away from dam site. Different feel, nice for clicks. But bit spoilt by young couples (?). Has become a hide-out for their acts.
