Sambranikodi Island

Nice experience. Awesome place to visit especially with kids. There is a small boat ride on the island that costs around 50 per head around another island where we can see crab and oyster cultivation.

It's a very fun place. Once you reach the sambranikkodi stop via bus or car, you can go to the island by a boat that costs 150 per head. After a 3 min boat ride, you'd reach the island. You can then walk around the island, take pics and there's also another boat service on the island that costs 50 per head which would take you around the island (15 mins around the Island on boat with no roof). Note - try to wear some plastic sandals while visiting. The water here is shallow but there are a lot of broken oyster shells here and you might end up cutting your feet on them if youre not careful.

This place came on the tourist map recently. The department of tourism have planted mangroves on the middle of the lake and people can go here using govt and private boat service. Water level at the island is below the knee, hence its safe. Govt boat service will cost you Rs 150 per person and the boat ride is short. Private boats will take you to a different island 30 minutes away, and give 30 minutes at the location.

Nice place to visit in evening. We can walk in the water. There have water level only at our ankle. We can find a special variety of small crab which have only one hand. The clay and moss under the water feel like jelly, so it feels disgusting when we walk.
We can reach there by boat. Boat charge is Rs. 100 per person. Also we can book a boat at a charge of Rs. 1000. We get a boat ride around 45 minutes.
No refreshments and toilet facilities in the boat jetty.

Visited this place last week with family. Children will surely enjoy walking in knee deep water. Avoid footwear when going to island. Also your pants will get wet. So carry an extra one. Local people will offer boat ride at 50/- per person (free for children) to see the surroundings of island. That too is a good experience. Overall enjoyed it

Very good place for family, boating; during our visit boating was not available to proper sambranikodi island (due to some legal restriction recently), but can go to some shallow spots bear by (worth it). During week day boating charge was 1500-2000/- for a family in one boat.
Try to visit Vilakkamma statue of possible (additional charges apply).

Must visit place. Kids friendly, my kids enjoyed very much. It was amazing more over its womens friendly and staffs in Manalil boating center was very friendly.

We are extremely happy with our tour to sabranikkodi island. The accomodation thy offer for our brakefast and the whasroom facility and not to forget the boat service to and fro to the island was well arranged. The kind co operation of the people over there is very cordial.
We really enjoyed the trip.

As of now (July 2022) it's temporarily closed. No boat service available. Even though, One can visit the kids park near the river side. There are lots of benches to sit and spend an evening with friends and family.

This is a perfect spot for a weekend trip in Kollam. The lake is so beautiful and mesmerizing and the island here is a man made Island covered with mangroves.

The water around the island is so shallow which allows you to walk through it. There are boating services to and from the island throughout the day till 5pm. After 5pm they’ll start fishing activities and boat movement is not entertained.

So make sure to wear clothes that can be adjusted till knee height coz you should not miss walking along the water. For those who don’t want to wet their legs can simply just go to the island or can enjoy the amazing breeze and beauty of lake in the nearby children’s park.

I strongly recommend spending some time at park just behind the manalil temple nearby. That place is so awesome.

Wonderful Island. Me and my family enjoyed a lot. Good for Kids. Boating center in front of the temple have all the facilities including washrooms.

Good spot, fun to walk in middle of backwater. Try not to come in public Holidays people rushes these days.

Good place to spend a few hours, walking in the lake, taking a small boat ride. Clean, clear water and surrounding. The drawbacks are there is no restroom, washroom, or good restaurants or tea/coffee shops nearby. Road is not good leading to the jetty on mainland. Negligence by tourist dept is clear.

One of the nice tourist spot in kollam area. We can stay inside the water after a nice boating.

Water hight in this area is very low, so that we can enter the water and enjoy.

Must Visit Place. Different Experience, Sambranikodi Island could be an alternative for people who visit beach with kids.
