Very tasty, traditional Kozhikode Halwas are available at Sankaran Backery. This backery is one among the old backery in Kozhikode. It is very famous for Wheat halwa, beet root halwa, Coconut halwa etc

Very arrogant person I just asked the owner wether the halwa is today's or not suddenly he got angry don't no why these owners behave rudely with tourists.

More duplicate sankaran bakery operating in this area and they looting the money and quality. Today I found one duplicate shop near palli vasal.

I visited this bakery after a gap of 37years to purchase for my family and friends the banana chips for which it was famous for. Sad to say that they conned me by giving freshly made chips to taste and packed chips made long time back which had lost its quality with bad taste of acrid coconut oil.
So beware while purchasing.

Its one of the oldest and most popular shop in SM Street (മിഠായി തെരുവ്). If you want to get traditional kozhikode halwa this is one of the places to go. They have wide varieties available there. The SM Street has been renovated recently. It looks much better now.

Best place for Halwa in Calicut. But other sweets were not at all decent. You can go for the halwa though. The standard Red halwa is delicious.

The best shop in SM Street to buy Halwa. I have bought 4 different types of Halwa and all are equally good. This seems to be a small shop but I bet they have the best Halwa in Kozhikode.

The best shop to buy Kozhikode halwa. There are many bakeries with the same name, the original one is the bakery with blue board. Varieties of bakery products are available. Staffs are friendly. This Shop is at the end of SM Street.

Bought halwa.its a gift for a friend.so dont know the taste and quality. But the staff were friendly.they are ready to give a small piece of halwa to know the taste.customer friendly atmosphere.parking facility is not available.there is a pay and park nearby.for two wheelers u can lark nearby road.

The original Sankaran bakery currently has a blue coloured board and looks bigger than the duplicate one. They have awesome bakery items with best halwa and banana chips in Town. They still have traditional looking shop with ever smiling and friendly people. Definitely recommended place for all. It's absolutely amazing that they have been around for a 100 years now and still going strong. 5 star rating

You will get the most authentic kozikkodan Halwa's here. The staffs were so friendly and helpful. They explained the history and types of halwa's to us.

Best quality and variety of halwa at one stop. This is one of the oldest and famous bakery exclusively for halwa. Very easy to find as it is near the entrance of street. We have to wait as the number of customers increases within a minute. Do cautious about the fake bakery whichis also having the same name.

One of the oldest bakeries in the SM street. The halwa from here is very famous. There are many shops similar to its name but always go for this shop and others all started later. This shop is almost at the end of the Street and as the Street doesn't allow vehicles to enter you will have to walk some distance to reach the shop.

The guys at the shop are patient and make u taste all the flavours. The halva is pretty good too. And since this shop had more crowd than the others, we were pretty sure it would be as expected.

It's a bakery but they specialise in halwas. I love the halwa from here. It's best in Kozhikode. Different types of flavours. Mango, mixed fruit, tender coconut, strawberry, orange, rice. You name it. There are a lot of halwa stores here but this one is very special. They make their own halwas and in quality they don't compromise.

Visited this place, brilliant halwas. The chilly halwa was a different experience. Nice folks to talk to. The shop is old and nothing much to look at. But sweets are handled with gloves et all.

One can find best halwa here. Elaneer flavour is my personel choice. Also other baked products are of good quality and reasonable rates.

My favourite halwa shop in Calicut, i went there twice they have so many varieties of halwas (famous kozhikodan halwa) tjere are so many shops also but i choose this over the others.price is also normal.it is located in the famous " mitai theruvu"
