This place is really good for North Indian dishes. The service was excellent. We reached the place during their closing hours, still they took order and served everything with utmost patience.
I took a parcel for north Indian sadhya for onam on 18 August 2023. Serving was good. Food was also. However the delivery took half an hour. Which was a bit painful.
Disappointed. Expected much more from this restaurant. Service was good. Ambience ok.food not up to the mark and very much expensive. Lassi good. Panneer dishes not satisfied.overall not recommendable
Been passing by this place for years and was wishing to drop in someday. Finally got the time and opportunity to dine in. The food was good, service was great and ambience was excellent. Btw, sat outdoors getting a feel of proper Punjabi dhaba.
Ambient place with good food. Went here for dinner. We had their Aloo Paratha, Lacha Paratha, Butter Naan, Tandoor Roti and Amritsari Chicken. The food was quite good and one full portion was enough quantity for 4. They do serve shallots and green chutney with their parathas. No stone has been left unturned in the interior decor to give a Punjabi vibe. Be it the lamps, the seating, the props. The place was indeed busy but we could get seating.
Reached at 1pm with family. After few minutes the waitress came. We ordered starters and main. After 25 minutes main course was served. When i asked about starters, she said it will take some more time. And as she promised the 'Lasters' came after 15 minutes, when we were half way through our main course. Then again she vanished. The portion ordered was insufficient for us, so we wanted to order more food. We waited for another 10-15 minutes, but no luck. Then we decided to wind up. We found the waitress after some more time and we asked her for the bill. The bill came fast, but she came after another 15-20 minutes to collect the payment. And we happily checked out by 2.30pm. The food was reasonably good and tasty except the veg. Pulao, as the rice was not well cooked, (as i felt). We noticed there were only couple of waiters for attending around 10 tables/ 50 seats or so. They were in their toes all the time. Poor guys! I wonder why the owner is doing things this way, in a well established restaurant! Final verdict: A good joint with good food, but pathetic service. That will spoil your day!
Most authentic place to get good panjabi dishes. Nice ambiance and polite staff with prompt services. Must visit place for all north indian food lover in Kochi.
That's place opened a few years ago in Kochi at that time was the place to go for authentic Punjabi cuisine. The food is really delicious and you will enjoy it for the authenticity. They've tried to bring the dhaba ambience in the funitures and interior design. The price is actually on the premium side. The amneties and parking needs improvement. But I'm giving all those stars for the sheer authenticity of the food
The most worst experience I ever face in my life they are not allowed to provide the table at the time we came here there are is empty seats for 9 they said you only 4 so they didnt allow to sit or they are not making any arrangements and other people came and simply sit there they dont have any objection
The chicken tangri kabab is mind blowingly delicious. Juicy, succulent, with the right amount of spices.
The chicken biryani was too spicy, so much so that i had to stop eating halfway through. My lips were still burning from the rnanta of the spiciness, even 15 minutes later as i was on my way home. Staff were attentive and friendly, top notch points for service.
Food was bland and I feel it won't be tasty for Malayalis. And they missed to give one of the dishes out of three in the parcel and we found that out after reaching home, hence couldnt taste the third dish. Place was clean and ambience was good
An authentic Punjabi restuarant run by a very hospitable Punjabi family. Great ambience with very pleasant and reponsible staff. Food is very authentic and up to mark.
I visited SdD after a long time and was saddened to see the quality of food drop so significantly. I order Butter Naan, Punjabi Chicken and Kebabs and except for the Naan - the rest was just sad. I ordered Desserts and the Matka Kulfi was old and frozen with ice! It was literally ice which I could use a chisel and carve a miniature statue with! And the staff say that's how it is. If you have been eaten Punjabi food outside the state and want to try it here, this is not the place.
Sweet lassi was superb. Grilled fish (tilapia) was also good. Chicken pakoda and paneer pakoda also not bad. Everything else was a disappointment. Service was average. Compared to other dhabas in kochi, this place is overpriced. Not worth the hype. Butter chicken was very sweet, taste wise also a disappointment.
We had ordered a Kadai Mushroom this afternoon. Terribly disappointed with the taste and could hardly find mushrooms. Dish costs 400 bucks. Total rip off! Won't try this Restaurant again.
Pricing has hiked up for no reason. Last time they offered 4pcs aloo tikki now reduced to two pieces. When asked why no response, inadequate staff humility and hospitality. Not visiting again
I love their lasssssi. And Kulchas. Their parathas are delicious. Butter Chicken is finger licking good. Ambience is fantastic. Makes one feel we have been transported to Punjab with every bite. Great service and my favorite eat out option when it comes to authentic Punjabi food in Kochi.
Must try for those who enjoy the Naan and everything thoda butter maar key. Also a great option for those cheating on their diet.
Taste and aroma 5/5.
Each time I visit them I forget to click pictures. I am sure you understand the reason why.
Have ordered food and eaten here in pre-pandemic times. Food is always great.if anything slightly on the spicier side. Families with small kids be wary when ordering. Their desserts are always a standout. The ambience is great as well
I had ordered butter chicken and roti through swiggy, it was terrible, they had give 5huge peices of chicken and curry was not in good taste, this was a north indian favorite but now has become very badd
This place is near to Kaloor -Kadavantra road. The food is below average and price is above average and you have to pay the price to eat in midst of mosquitoes since it is open eatery. Not at all recommended for the price you pay.
I had ordered samosas through swiggy during the lockdown period and it was the worst ones I've tried my hands on. The oil was clearly reused so many times and the fillings were stale. It was a party order and was embarassing to have given this to guests. Clearly it was my mistake to order bulk from a place which I have not even tried. Wen I tried calling to the restaurant, a lady picked and said she cannot connect to the manager. Later I tried and number was off. They never even called back. That means they are least bothered about customer feedback. Kochi folks, beware when you go to have food from this cheap place. I have no words to express my disappointment not just for the food but to their arrogant and insensitive attitude towards customers. Would never suggest this place!
After one and half year I tried my favourite Punjabi chicken biriyani. But very very sad to say that Sethi Da Dhaba lost there authentic taste. My request is, customers are ready to pay RS. 250 for your biriyani because of trust. Please don't lose the trust you had.
I like the place but the price was high.even for rotti the price is high.it's not a budget shop.the style of Shop is good but I am not satisfied with his price.the 2 stares I gave is because of the shope appearance
Today I went to sethi da Dhaba after 2 yrs approx, d gud thing is dey make lill changes in deir menu, d veg thali which is before 180 + taxes approx, dey reduce d price to 130 wid taxes, nd dey make change also dat now dey r giving u curries, chapathi, rice about ur need. Dat is d best thing, which really attracts me, nd I feel, d pure authentic food wid dis changes is amazing.
But.
When d thali is cmng it's look lyk d old, everything is dere, bt Taste is missing somewhere, deir tandoori roti taste is lill sour, only paneer curry, nd desert is yummy baaki things r not okay. I meant to say right now d taste of Punjab it's not dere. It's looks lyk a normal curry. Which really makess me sad, I hope u can take back ur authentic taste of Punjab back. I hope dis review will really helps u to improve d taste.
I am a hotelier.i would say its real taste of punjabi dhaba.the staffs are awesome serive was excellent.little disappointed in paneer was little hard.anyways its a good experience. Thanks to all staff
I ordered mutton biryani from sethi Da dhaba through swiggy. This is the worst ever mutton biryani I had in my life worst in the sense worst worst worst 1000 x worst. I think this guys used Dog meat which even 2 month old horrible terrible and not at all recommended
Was there for dinner on a Friday evening. One of the few places where you get authentic Punjabi food in Kochi.
The food is good. All non veg starters are brilliant. However they need to improve their ability to serve food faster. I waited nearly for an hour to get the food ready.
Taste: 4/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 2/5 Value for Money: 3/5
I was craving for Aloo Paratha for some time. I got one of the best Aloo Paratha from Sethi Da Dhaba. I recommend this place for authentic Punjabi food.
Its a nice restaurant, well managed.i ate veg thali here it was having shahi paneer, matar paneer, roti chaval nd gulab jamun only at 130, very reasonable price.
Awesome food, really taste of punjab, the ambience wow, you will start singing "Bolo Tara Tara", authentic north indian dishes, true taste of north india, whether it's veg or non veg, yummy tasty food, different variety of Dhal, Paneer, Gobi, Palak. Tandoor woh wah, special Punjabi Chicken ek dum Mast. Roti, rice items super, for meals try their North Indian Tali (Tandoor roti, rice, dhal, paneer butter masala, paneer mattar, special raita, papad, gulab jamun. Give a try i am damn sure you won't regret.
Awesome place for punjabi delicacies. The service and food was awesome. The ambience was good. The portions are generous. One dish can actual feed two individuals. The only drawback I feel is lack of parking space. It is situated on the road, si one has to park the vehicle on the busy road.
Slightly up scale. A purely north indian food outlet at Ernakulam. Good lassi is a speciality. Paneer wishes are mouth watering. Roti and Naan are very delicious. Nice ambience.
