This spot is a must-visit for night owls who crave some delicious puttu! While parking might be a bit tricky, the food here is worth it. We tried the puttu with chicken, mutton, and fish curry, and all of them were incredibly tasty. However, the real star of the show was the chicken fry – it was a delightful surprise!
If you're looking for a unique late-night food experience and don't mind the parking challenge, this place is worth a try. Overall, a good food adventure that's sure to satisfy your late-night cravings.
Had a terrible experience, Average tasted beef curry, below average mutton, not good chicken, got a spioled beef fry/ വളിച്ച ബീഫ് ഫ്രൈ- had informed them and even them they charged fully for the spoiled beef fry tasted bad. Not recommended for more than one time. Rates are moderate Mutton combo 200 Tea 10 Beef fry 100 Puttu beef 120 Puttu chicken 150 Pappadam 5
Went there seeing the reviews and vloggers post. Food was average only. Not super tasty as per reviews. There are better small hotels in that area itself which serves super tasty puttu n beef
I went there with my friends last night, we heard a lot about this restaurant, the restaurant opens only at night and closes early in the morning about 3: 00 - 4: 00 am We had tried puttu (steam cake), porotta, appam, beef fry, chicken fry, chicken curry, pappadam, boiled duck eggs and black tea, Puttu was hot and tasty chicken curry and beef curry was also good especially the gravy of chicken curry was superb, but the chicken fry was not good, chicken fry was very oily and hard, and porotta was the worst, actually they don't make porotta it's from somewhere else, i only suggest puttu with pappadam and chicken curry And their service needs to be improved, i asked them for some chicken gravy but the staff told me to buy a curry, There is plenty of spaces for two wheeler parking, it's very difficult to park car there, I suggest better go there on weekdays there will be crowds on weekends, Atmosphere is also good,
The best place for a evening tasty meal. A traditional shop serves the local delicacy like puttu karimmen beef mutton chicken fry. I am sure that you won’t be disappointed with the quality of the food.
Food is nice. But the service is very poor. There is no car parking facilities. So people who come here must put your car in the road itself or you will be locked by other vehicles coming behind you
Great for street food. The hotel opens at night. Need to go bit inside from the main road to access to hotel. All non-vegetarian items are great in taste with reasonable price. What my personal feel is that compared to all veg mutton dishes are not up to mark and costly. Parking is a bit problem here. So advise is to get access by two wheelers
Shibu Chettan doesn’t need any review, known for beef n puttu. He’s been serving the local fishermen folk for quite sometime. Your midnight meat craving can be sorted at this restaurant. Expect a Little bit of time to be seated.

This place opens and works during night time.it's difficult to reach the spot. Earlier I found the taste of beef and mutton much better. But recently I found it to shift from the taste it had before. Puttu is still soft and lovely.i doubt I will go back there anytime soon now.
One of the best destinations in Kochi for your night food cravings. Puttu and mutton combo is their special, costs 175 per plate. The chicken fry is also worth a try.
Best place to eat after 9.30pm in kochi, variety of curries with one and only puttu (steamed rice powder cake), Mutton curry is my favorite, but they have beef, fish, chicken. Everything is spucy and so tasty. I guarantee you the taste and service. Dont forget to order black tea as well.
The store only hava a short menu.the main attraction of this place is putt (steam cake). . The store is opened from 9 pm to 4 am.if you are wandering in town searching for hunger solutions in mid night just go for it
The best place for having dinner with nice ambience and friendly workers.puttu along with beef curry chicken fry and boiled duck egg is the best combo to be tried.
Okay place for night food, I been here many times, one suggestion better avoid this shop on weekends. When the crowds comes in food quality/taste goes down. Repeated heating of fried items are another issue which we noticed during crowdy days. If you wish to enjoy the authentic taste of puttu n mutton curry better go on weekdays.
What an absolutely wonderful quaint little place to hang out with friends. It's a tiny verandah of an old house, converted into a canteen of sorts, with it's thinna serving as seating and low roof overhangs. We normally go here with our guitar and chill by the backwaters nearby for the first hour or so, singing, sitting on all fours on the tiny and intimate jetty spilling out onto the water, dipping our feet in the waves and having a gala time, which in itself is a surreal experience. There's usually a tiny but friendly crowd here, mostly comprised of youngsters. The jamming session almost always ends up with song requests and random strangers joining in, lending the whole activity a beautiful sense of community. Following this we have our fill of Shibu chettan's scrumptious puttu which is always hanging somewhere perfectly between soft and crumbly, with a side of duck roast or beef fry or chicken curry. Although most of my friends go mad over the duck, I personally prefer the chicken. It's the right amount of spicy, flavour packed with a thick consistency. The meat is soft and falls right off the bone, and you always get that hint of an aftertaste of what makes chicken, chicken, as opposed to the fiber-like or thick meat that's more common in most restaurants. The gravy itself reminds me of my grandmother and of home. What seems to be the highlight of this place though, is its working hours, which is from 8pm to 4am (not sure about the am). So the next time you're having an all nighter, you know where to go.
It's a genuine paradise for those who love night life and a midnight food raid. Shibu's Puttu Kada is a small local food joint and is located at Kumbalam near to kumbalam Jetty. It opens at night only. Have many food varieties of which Puttu and beef with boiled egg is a must try. Puttu is so soft and Beef curry is prepared with gravy which is a perfect combination. Food here are claimed to be prepared fresh and served hot. The place is seen crowded mostly. You might see it difficult to find a parking spot here, so better park the car at main road side and take a walk.
Good food, and the spot has a good scenic view of backwaters with a slight breeze. If you need to reach right in front of the shop it is better to take a two wheeler and if you are ready for a short walk after parking, take a car
Best homemade puttu and irachi curry that you will get in the town. Also their shop and location gives you an olden day chaayakada feel. Only issue i felt was the accessibility and time they are running their shop. It is best suited for friends and families. I will not suggest for couples.
For foodies who don't look for cosy places, this is the one. Very basic facilities for a night dinner with traditional kerala foods, best of which is their mutton curry and puttu.
Traditional kerala food is available there. This will be open til 3.00 am. This will be a comfortable timing for us. Puttu and beaf is the main course. Appam is not that much good. All Curry are delicious.
Best place to go for late night food. Freshly Homemade foods are supplied. Homely atmosphere. But its little crowdy and there is a shortage of space. Space Shortage is only because of the crowd who loves their food. Shibu chettan is also awesome. There is a lake nearby it. Can enjoy the sight seeing after fooding. I highly recommend shibu's puttu kada ️
