Staying in Shiva's garden was beautiful, it was our home for more than one month Jay is an amazing host and super talented badminton player, there is a lot of space to play and create, the kitchen is really good! Really nice food for really good price. Many different options for staying and the beautiful energy attracts amazing people. The location is perfect and it's a very nice atmosphere to inhabit Deeply thankful with this place. Full of art and murals.

It was a wonderful stay at Shiva Gardens Varkala. My friend suggested it here. It was a peaceful atmosphere overall. And Will come again with more friends.

We visited the homestay in March, I would say it was a homely stay and could not forget the stay there since this place has got the special vibe when its in the evening with light music and they got the small play area. Staff is friendly and special thanks to Jayan ettan for hosting me and my family, all the help provided in visiting near by places at short notice and special thanks to kayaking trainer Ashokettan and guide Praveen. Shiva kayak is a must go place it was an awesome experience that too with my kid, 100 % safe and we enjoyed it a lot and would love to visit next tym. Also recommend this place to others who is looking to visit varkala cliff its just walkable distance and the rooms are very much affordable. We made many friends within short span of time during the visit. Last but not the least the breakfast was awesome, thank you from all of us

Quite passable. Food so-so, service slow, though cute having sand around where we sat and ate. Some unexpected barbells and Roman Rings in the distance, a punching bag hanging a few feet from our table, and some interesting wall painting, but derelict and mossy brown tiles on the roof, cracked basin and rather shabby tables and benches.
All in all, not a recommendable place, unless you want to feel like a poor hippie in the 1970s.

I loved Varkala and ended up spending six nights at Shiva Garden. Great location, great vibe and outdoor chill area and spot to meet people and great service and assistance by the staff, I lost count of how many times the manager in particular helped me out, including with some visa issues. A great place to kick off my India trip, couldn’t recommend enough.

The garden and owner is very nice but the room is not in good shape, many many ants everywhere (the staff was informed)

This place is like a retreat. There are many sports available inside this hostel. Also, the varkala beach is walkable from this place.

Super good location. Walking distance from the cliff, the bars, the restaurant and the beach.
Super cool garden with lots of space to eat, drink, chill and relax on the hammacs.
The only bad thing is that my room and the bathroom were full of ants

Decent budget place to stay.lots of foreign crowd.went there for new year and they organised a in-house party which was very good. Rooms are all spacious.good budget stay.

Shiva Garden was a splendid experience. Stayed for a week and felt like home. Cook Kannan made some delicious food for us even when the kitchen was closed, he offered to cook for us as we were Hungry and it’s was raining bad at night. Host Naveen took absolute care of us and was friendly. The atmosphere is calm and Serene. Affordable price. Must stay at Varkala. We also went for Shiva Kayaking and it was stunning experience in the backwaters Good wifi connection too.

Rooms are nice, comfortable and clean and fair rate is charged but the best of the whole space is the super amazing staff, they make you feel as if you are staying at a friends house.
There is also a lot of activity in the common area, many guests from nearby homestays also go there and you can play sports or board games while enjoying the meals prepared by best chef in town Kannan:)

We had an amazing experience here in Siva Garden. Host was really friendly and location is very near to the Beach.

Dint even stay here. Host was very rude! Used foul language, which was completely uncalled for.

Had two day stay here on 19,20 March 2022 with 8 friends and we got a separate house of two bedroom and extra beds. House was spacious and AC was nice at affordable cost.

Open area near house was spacious and we played basketball and use hammock.

The time we stayed, the house was not clean and lot of leech in bathroom too. Dry leaves were not cleaned around house. Request to make arrangements for pest control. The bed cot also was noisy and wood looks very unstable. The house must be cleaned by room boys every day, but our house was not cleaned in both days.

Kindly Make arrangements for the minor flaws and the house will be recommended for future.

Great place to stay and they have fun activities for everyone. The only issue was the parking and the road reaching to the destination.

If you are redy for a real Indian homestay like feel the place is perfect affordable and good but not that clean and unhygienic

Had an excellent time there, the place has a really nice vibe and sleeping in hammock was very peaceful, Tried out workation for the first time, met a handful of persons who made the stay in Varkala a pleasant memory, family and friends might have great time there, just go for it.has really great eateries around and beach is literally a 5min walk

A decent home stay.the vibe was great, they had many sport equipments for time pass, friendly staffs.

The host was really good and helping. They have a big property that is divided into smaller rooms. They have a play area that you can use to play different kind of games. Overall a good vibe place.

Amazing! Was the second time I stayed there. Still a beautiful place with a lot of space to express yourself. Also they have a kitchen wich serves delicious food and juices.

Though the place was really good in terms of location and being close to nature just make sure you get the exact room or apartment or dorm u booked. Because even after paying an advance and confirmed our room in one place we were given a totally different room, the current season time was said as the reason by them

Rooms were not at all good, no cleanliness. Washrooms were not good. They provided old metal cupboard in the room - no one will keep their stuff inside it.

Service was poor for each new every small service you have to visit the reception.

The food was overpriced.

The major disappointment factor was the tree houses, we booked tree houses and we were very excited but after looking at them all the excitement was ruined. The tree house was nothing but a small room in the garden with area occupied by only one mattress. It felt suffocating. Luckily we did not get them.

The only one thing which was good about the resort was the garden area.

Rude behaviour of staffs. Staffs attitude are like they are paying for our stay. Please don't go there.

Reception is awesome and best place to relax and enjoy in a peaceful way. The guy owner is supereb and very cool guy

It's not a family homestay, everywhere we can find vulgar paintings which really show that it's such a poor place to stay. The rooms are not at all clean and the whole place is quite dirty and nasty.

I've been in Shiva Garden twice. And for my next trip in Varkala I will choose this guesthouse again. This place is pure magic. You feel like in the middle of the jungle yet it is so close to the cliff and the main beach. Lounge is great and comfortable, nice and chilled music plays time to time, you feel the vibe of freedom and acceptance. There is range of rooms: from tree huts to double bed rooms with bathroom and shower. This is the place where I met incredible people because it only attracts such. And the staff has authentic smile on their faces. Arty, chilled, well maintained. Just fantastic!

There is no proper accomodation.if temp is approx 30 degrees then you cannot sleep there in the dorm beds

Room is clean and economical. Have to walk long for the cliff. Good for budget concious travellers and back packers.

Shiva garden is a good home stay with cheap rate. Accommodation was good but the quality and quantity of food has to improve. When I ordered the food the quantity was very little

The Best Home Stay in Varkala. Been there for several times. Best Ambiance, Play Area, Restaurant is little bit costly but worth it. Best food.

Wonderful Place to Stay. Owner of the resort is too friendly and knowledgeable. You have all sports to play and all books to read but all this comes in a open area but still you gonna love it.

The place is very nice, you can chill in a hammock. The owners are very friendly and the room was clean. I recommand it.

Had our farewell party here.good hangout place.food is not upto to mark and it loses points there. Nice one to try.
