I have been a customer of Arul Jyothi and its sister concern Aruna since 1994. But today (27/08/2023; Uthradam) when I went there for dinner and headed for a vacant table in the "family" section, because the tables in the general section were occupied, I was told I couldn't go there. I asked the waiter to give me a seat and he pointed me to a hot and unpleasant one. I told him it was very hot and asked for another and he rudely barked at me (I am not exaggerating) and said I, being just one person, could not sit in the "Family" section, although that entire table was vacant. I left the place and have resolved to boycott these two restaurants unless I get an apology. I also plan to make this review viral because such customer unfriendly businesses deserve to perish.
Just another restaurant which serves average food at exorbitant prices. They used to serve really good coffee earlier now you don't even get that. Parking is an issue too
We were there early in the morning at around 9: 00 ish in a Sunday morning and the seats were almost full. We were lucky enough to get 7 seats. Service is fast and food is great. We had a mix of Medu Vada, Onion Uttapam, Rava Masala, Sada Dosa and tea.
Love the coffee from there. Very fast service. Ghee rice and paneer kadai from there for lunch was the best dish I had. Paneer kadai ordered on another day for dinner tasted different.
At first I ate Masala Dosa and I liked it very much. So I went again and again and tried Masala Dosa, Puri, Fried Idli and liked everything. Another day I went to eat Masala Dosa again, thought it was a mistake or not suitable for everyone, two days ago I went again and ordered masala dosa and an idli fry. Almost like we put our hair through. We said we will exchange it and we said no. In any case, I did not have to pay a penny for the hair loss cake It's not there anymore anyway If we still get our own hair, we will tell them that we are doing it with them
Anyway, there is someone in that kitchen whose beard or mustache is falling out nicely
A Classic tamilnadu style vegetarian restaurant. Their chole bhature is my most favourite item on the menu and it fills you up like crazy. Crispy dosas are served with a hot spicy idly chutney which is.
My all time fav veg restaurant in trivandrum. Thali is the classic dish here. There is also a lot of North Indian cuisine available. Sweets are just like it's homemade.
The most popular and quite affordable destination for sweets in and around Kizhakkekotta. Ideal for mixture, murukku and Thenga Poli. No parking space and dine-in facility. Quality - 5/5, Price 5/5, Location 5/5.
Famous vegetarian restaurant in thiruvananthapuram. North indian cuisine like thali meals, masal dosa etc etc. My favourite is uzhunnu vada chatny and Tea
A pure vegetarian hotel located in heart of the city. Go in a for a King's lunch. Regular meals include roti, sabzi, rice, dal, ghee, sambar, rasam, curd, morkuzhumbu, puli kuzhambu, kuttu, poriyal, aviyal, pickle, pappad, payasam - all these items are of unlimited quantity, you can have as much as you can. Regular meal will cost 100 INR. The cost is fairly cheap compared to other restaurants serving unlimited buffet. A good place to quench your hunger. The staffs are so welcoming and caring. In short its the place where you get King's food at a normal cost.
I have heard of/seen Arul Jyothi restaurant a lot, due to its prime location exactly opposite the Secretariat. However, we chanced upon this restaurant as we were looking for Onam Sadya - all the places had sold out. We were guided by a helpful man who mentioned that you will get 'sadya' every day at Arul Jyothi. He was right.
The meals was wholesome and had almost 20 different items including 2 types of payasams. The service was extremely good - we were being offered additonal papadam without even asking! In short, though we were looking for Onam Sadya that usually costs Rs 300/person, we got an equally good meals for just Rs 100/person. Everyone in my family was happy with the meals, and everybody was wondering why we were trying to go for the Rs 300 Sadya.
A classic Vegetarian Restaurant. I'm a Non Vegetarian Bt.whenever I've a craving for Authentic Tamil Vegetarian cuisine, in Thiruvananthapuram. Hotel Arul Jyothi, Palayam Ananda Bhavan and West Fort Uduppi hotels will be the options.
Quality of veg dishes has not diminished in the last two decades, located opposite the secratariate, its a very famous vegetarian only restaurant with ac and non ac seating options.
Value from money proposition. The only negative is the lack of a clean rest room. Good vegetarian food and options. No parking available so one has to depend on the parking bays adjacent to the hotel.
