The worst atmosphere a hotel can seehave.the front entry itself is disgusting and unhygienic.still people giving positive response might be due to the quality of food.today ordered masala dosa which was burned to charcoal I would say.as the backside was burnt won't be able to notice it the first look.the waiter service was so poor that he was not even concerned and was angry that I told him in between.more shocking was the response of the owner as I had to report it from beginning.can we turn the masala dosa upside down from beginning? And charging 80 rs per dosa with such lame excuses. I recommend nobody should tolerate this behaviour and it's our right to be provided good quality of food for the money we are giving.worst resturant ever
One of the famous hotel and here i had meals which is worthy and taste is also good and other items were also nice like gobi chilli, chappathi and tiffin items.
The food was quite good, however the lack of good service (spilling food all over the table) and unhygienic atmosphere really bought the eating down. Furthermore, they are charging extra for AC fees!
The food (ghee masala dosa, poori, and coffee) was reasonably good. However, the place emanated a general vibe of disarray and lack of hygiene right from the entrance to the A/c cabin and the wash area.
In case one is wondering, this is an ostentatious doppelgänger of the famous Saravanaa Bhavan. Don’t be fooled by the name!
All Saravana bhavan hotels are known for hygiene. But this is maintained poor. No hygiene in handwash, restrooms and even the cooking places seen seems pity. Average maintained hotel unlike the brand says! Food is good though.
Bringing the food standards low in the capital city. It is joints like these which give the people substandard services that have a larger impact on the overall food industry in a city. Others see their growth and profits coupled with very poor quality food and service and they think this is enough to satisfy the people of Trivandrum, therefore they follow the same path.
Firstly the food, it was nothing special (infact it was bad except for a few items). They do just about average with the south Indian dishes, but don't even think of going north or Chinese. The Chilli Porotta here is the worst I have ever had. It is a glorified Kothuporotta with an ungodly amount of onions. Same goes for other North Indian dishes. Too much oil and not at all tasty. Even the south indian dishes cannot be compared to other restaurants in the city.
Secondly the service, the service was sub par, the servers would often shout at eachother and are not careful with the food. Very loud and irritating environment. The tables are not cleaned promptly and the biggest difference I noticed was the lack of empathy. Usually the Tamilians and Sree Saravana Bhavan staff (Which they false fully try to impersonate, see the name 'SRII' which is a crime in itself, trying to fool us regular folks in believing they are something they are definitely not) are very much welcoming and have a kind heart. These people are just there for the money and tips if any and nothing else. Customer does not matter to them.
Thirdly the physical appearance, see that I didn't use the word ambience, because it hasn't got any. The restaurant premises are very unclean and smells a lot. It has very poorly maintained seating and washing areas. I do not want to talk about the washroom because it would be a disrespect to other washrooms all around the world (yes it was that bad, and also considering the fact that it is on a shoulder road on the primary national highway in Trivandrum, it makes it even worse). The floor also was slippery and unclean.
Finally the price. Having written an essay about their very poor food, service and physical areas, one would think that they would compensate for all this on their price. Well that's where 'SRII' Saravana Bhavan has again bamboozled me. The prices are outrageous. It costs almost 1.5 times the amount that you would normally pay in a veg restaurant. And it is not even AC and well I have explained all the other shortcomings. (I do know they offer AC in some part of their restaurant but I did not get the chance to try it, and frankly I don't regret trying, I sense it would be even worse than open air).
These kinds of restaurants must not be allowed to feed on the helplessness of the regular people. Most people that come here and eat are the professionals in UST, Infosys and Technopark. They come here because of its vicinity to these organisations. Do not fall prey to the location of this restaurant and the name it carries. It is not worth it. I would rather starve than to eat another meal from this restaurant. I have brought myself to try at this restaurant several times, in hope that this time would be different. But there is no change. They will not change because they are satisfied with their sales. Everytime that I go past this restaurant and see a huge crowd, it pains me. It pains me that we, as trivians have to settle for places like this. And those writing 5 star reviews, I humbly request you to try out other, good restaurants and see how a restaurant should be. And to the travellers who might stumble upon this restaurant, please don't take your foot off the accelerator. Keep going, there are far better places out there.
Good staff and affordable food. Neatness could have been improved. The chairs had stains when we came to have breakfast today and the washroom smelled of urine. Overall, not a very good experience. But maybe this was because we came during the morning rush. Nothing special about the food. Tastes okay. If you are strict about having pure vegetarian food, I would suggest this restaurant.
If you are looking for great south Indian breakfast, this one is one of the best option. Ambience is not that great. But the food is good. Have a wide variety of Dosas and I love them all. You can order food using swiggy and zomato.
South Indian veg food restaurant. Food is good but cost is on the upper side considering the hotel ambience and the quality. One thing worrisome is the attitude of the staff especially the waiter is pathetic, that think they are doing a favour to the consutomers. The attitude shows up in their approach. To summarize a fair veg hotel but do not expect customer satisfaction and good behaving staffs.
Food is good. But the restaurant is not maintained well specially the hand wash area. Once you go to the hand wash area then you won't eat anything from there
Good food. Located right opposite to UST Global in the service road. But you can't access the service road from that signal, so it is more convenient if you could take deviation from the previous signal; or if you have missed it, you can take deviation form the signal after that. Have some delicious idli sambar, or vada sambar, those are my personal favorite there. Although I haven't tried everything on the menu, bt all that I tried where good. It's usually open till 11 at night. Paytm or Gpay is not acceptable there. Credit cards are acceptable.
Got a strand of hair from a ghee roast i just had today. As i was hungry, i tore that piece away and had it. Told the same to the person who clear bills, he was shaking his head as if that hair strand is a part of that ghee roast. Also, ambience is not that fair. Rotten smell always fly by. Washroom is a hell.
Nice veg resturant.but not have good space and seatings.food is tasty not cheap affordable rate with good taste.no car parking space need to park in the service road side with clients own responsibiliti.other wise a good choice for famly who love vegetarian food
"Tasty but costly" A good place to dine out with tasty food, but it will cost u like hell. Everytime I go and order a food, it's rate would have been increased by 10rs (compared to the last time). Though tasty, costly. Would have given more stars if it was less costlier.
Positives: Tasty
Negatives: Costly No cleanliness Rude behavior by cashier
You can find dishes in Authentic Tamilnadu taste. The taste and quality was good. All vegetarian items in Tamilnadu you can find it over here. The rates are also not high.
Not the best, yet satisfying. Service is better in terms of serving time, but the serving men has to be trained. We can park the vehicle in the service road or on highway side.
Items are little overrated. Dishes made in traditional Tamil way. It has everything for a vegan, especially who loves Tamil style of cooking. Separated space for AC and Non AC. For AC space, price may be rather high. Services are okay. Little late due to over crowding sometimes. Just opposite to Infosys makes it fav place for the techies. Online food ordering is available here via swiggy, uber eats etc. Parking of bikes is not a problem here but to park a car, it might take some time due to the lack of parking space here. It is located very near to the bus stop, the Technopark phase 2 bus stop. Ideal for families as they have separate space for customers with ladies. We'll have to wait for a considerable amount of time to get the order served since they are freshly preparing the order. The food tasted good but my overall experience was bad as the hotel hygiene was not up to the pricing they have given for the food.
Expensive for most of the food, also the hygiene of the place is not so good. Only the places where customers are seated are well cleaned. Mostly prices are changing time to time. Overall the restaurant could be more hygienic and less expensive as of they are providing.
Good food, good place located on main road to Ugst, they say a lot about their mini Idli with ghee, but that's not upto mark, Pongal with vada is a must try here
It used to be good place to get south indian meals but lately they ahve introduced mini meals which frankly i feel is too much.i think that they have under estimated that the hotel is in kerala.like the old times normal kerala or tamilian meals would have been enough.as far as i see even when mini meals taste ok, its too much for a single person and too much over priced.hope they would understand
It's a treat your mouth and every single time you go there it's the same. There's no shortage of yummy food specially South Indian meals in this place.
The staff here are a gem, they serve with respect and the food just seems much better that way. They're available on food delivery apps and served food round the daytime.
A good vegetarian restaurant very near to UST Global and Infosys Campus, situated near Technopark Phase II. Decent dining but not a fan of it's cleanliness and ambience. But they serve really tasty food and I guarantee that. A bit overpriced, I feel. Yet, if you're looking for a healthy vegetarian meal, you're at the right place.
No parking space. The parking space and entrance is occupied by Uber Eats and Swiggy. The wash room is Congested and substandard. The glass is also not clean. The food is served using bare hands
