We had stayed in sterling for 3 nights. The rooms are spacious and have a good ambience. The premier room is apt for a 3 person stay. The staff were courteous and even arranged a crib immediately on request for our baby. Special callouts to mr. Anand and mr. Sujith. Food spread could have been better, very limited options for lunch and dinner, but nevertheless the taste was good.
This is a well-maintained hotel near Guruvayur Temple. Entire Hotel is made of authentic Wooden carvings theme to keep guruvayur temple vibe in and out. Guruvayur temple is around 1km from hotel. Staffs are humble and respectful. Good veg only food although limited options but taste is excellent. Hotel is well maintained and kept very clean. The restaurant serves tasty and delicious food. Cold coffee and strawberry Milkshake must try. Excellent hotel for families to stay. The hotel has inhouse parking facility.
Nice experience of staying in this hotel.good rooms.very near to temple.one of the recommended hotel.clean room and nice staff members.very quick service given in restaurant as well in room service.good stay experience overall with family.
The experience was good, but the issue was with the service at the reception. We do understand the security protocol and stuff, but the way we say something to the customer is not the way the guy over there did. Bad service and bad experience at the reception when some of my guests were coming in.
Stayed in Sterling 30th July 2022 for one night. Very close to Mammiyor Temple around 1kms to Guruvayur Temple. Overall pleasant stay. There is a vegetarian restaurant in the ground floor. Had lunch and was good as well. Staffs are very friendly and courteous. Rooms are neat. Will visit again.
Clean, standard rooms. Location and ambience good. Professional courteous staff. Restaurant timings not synchronous for temple visitors.overall satisfied for a short stay.
Location = 650 mts from the main temple. Parking = Ample place and valet is available Room = Huge and clean and AC was real good. Amenities = All basic amenities that you would expect in a room is available. Restaurant = Buffet only and out of those buffet items they allow a-la carte which I liked. Taste wise = All star hotel food taste the same. Ambience and reception = I think they have really invested a lot of money on Ambience and it's so beautiful and at the same time reception staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Overall - a great place to stay if you are in Guruvayoor
I had a pleasant time there with my family. The rooms were neat and clean. You can book a buffet for dinner and breakfast. Lunch was also good I chose Kerala style meals but you can get North and South style common food. Quality is good as cooked from home
This is one of the poor hotel we visited in kerala. Food experience is zero. They make something and name it what they like.hospitality is also zero. Staffs except few. Assuming that we are staying there for free of cost. They are having a long menu card. But nothing will be available. Worst experience in this place.
I had a stay in this hotel and the ambience was really good. The rooms and the bathroom were extremely clean. Complimentery breakfast was indeed delicious and well hosted. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know. Worth the price and well mannered staffs.
Nice place to stay if you dont mind eating only veg food. I know it is a temple town based hotel but the choice to eat veg or non veg should be left to the customers and if proper segregation is the concern then they can offer seperate restuarents to enable this choice to their customers Other than this it is a place worth its price
NOT at all at par with Sterling standards. Pathetic customer handling approach. They will not even ask for water forget welcome drink when the guest is waiting to checkin for an hour. They wouldn't even switch on the AC untill you ask in the lobby. Food in the restaurant is NOT good at all, especially dinner. No food item would taste as it should. South Indian meal (Oonu) and probably sweet corn soup is the only thing the chef here knows to make. And when you complaint the restaurant manager would say that your taste buds are not in sync with their food. NOT RECOMMENDED hotel at all.
Very pleasant and worthy stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Location is great, big parking, amazing restaurant that has delicious vegetarian food, friendly and hospitable staff and very clean property. There’s no swimming pool but considering the fact that most of them who stay here are pilgrims, that becomes optional. Highly recommended.
An excellent hotel with well appointed rooms, elegant lobby and public rooms. Food was excellent. Staff was so polite and pro active. Thx to Mr Pradeep for all the support. Delighted
Sterling Guruvayur is very close to the main temple about 1km. It is very beautifully maintained. The room we opted for was spacious, well lit and spotlessly clean. Sheets, pillow, towels and utilities were all well kept. Room had the distinction pleasant "hotel smell". Bathroom was quite small and yet pretty neat. The staff at front desk are very courteous and professional. Restaurant had limited menu considering it was totally off season. It was like we had the whole restaurant all to ourselves. It is beautiful and compliments the hotel's interiors. The staff were very hospitalble here too. But special mentions to the jeera rice and dal tadka. One of the best made jeera rice I have had in my entire life. Overall a fantastic stay. Kudos!
Good stay and nice food. Please do setup TV and other amenities necessary before we check-in as we have to call up the reception for getting it set up after reaching. Otherwise everything went well.
I visited here last week for my relatives marriage. I had a feeling, that the arrangements in the dinning was not appropriate. My dad fell down while walking due to this. He accidentally struck the stage table which was placed very near to the dinning table. So i am taking 1 * for the same.
It was a wonderful stay with my family and friends for my wedding. Followed all the protocols and protective measures were taken. Special thanks to Mr Biju who did every possible efforts to make our stay so comfortable. Service is really appreciable. They have taken care of our entire event well. All the staffs were very responsive. Got complimentary buffet breakfast. Arranged a buffet dinner for guest Everyone enjoyed their veg cuisines. Will definitely come back in the future.
Did group booking for a marriage function. Right from booking through Mr. Anoop Mathew, experience was amazingly pleasant with assistance from their GM at property and Mr. Pradeep who takes care of our needs as a family member. Buffet was excellent, breakfast as complimentary and dinner on additional payment. Guruvayur temple is around 850mtrs, only drawback, if you prefer to reach temple by walk. Else commute to and from temple won’t be an issue as auto rickshaws are available 24/7.
New property managed by Sterling group. They have teething mistakes, and their processes are not streamlined. Room are good, with good furnitures and facilities. Washrooms are spacious and clean. Food is just okay okay.
I had a good experience staying at Sterling. We took a premium AC room which had enough space. Excellent service. They treat the customers really well. Breakfast was really good which was a complimentary. I didn't like the lunch much. We ordered meals for lunch. Dinner was good. But it's bit expensive. Overall I had a great stay.
Probably the best hotel in Guruvayur considering the Service, ambience and good quality food. Finally a good place to eat with family in Guruvayur. Kudos to the team! Edit: not as good now
Sterling Guruvayur is a centrally located property in Guruvayur, the Guruvayur Krishna Temple is about one km and Mammiyur Temple is around 600m from the hotel with easy access to auto. The staff is very pleasant though conservation in Hindi may be a little difficult otherwise they are ever smiling and ready to assist the patrons. The restaurant -Varishta is an all veg restaurant and generally serve South Indian fare. The taste of food is good and is reasonably priced. All three meals are generally Buffet however, one can order A-la carte menu or room service, (we explored neither of the service). The rooms are tastefully done, has all the basic amenities like mini refrigerator, tea maker, hair dryer etc and has a amazing ambience. Overall the hotel decor is excellent as it is made to local Kerala style architecture and the stay was awesome.
Clean rooms and hospitality at it's best. Food was good too. Overheard another family saying that it's the best place in Guruvayur they have stayed at of all the places.
The rooms are spacious and clean Central location and very convenient for temple visit Best place to stay and visit Guruvayoor Good facilities neat and clean good atmosphere like a beautiful Kerala home like structures Very good service from staff General manger has a good people skill
Spacious well maintained rooms for large families. Intricate wood work in lobby and beautiful furniture in rooms. Food is 5 star and wholesome. Well mannered staff.
The hospitality is appreciated. Especially General Manager's service is highly obliged. All the staff are good. Rooms are extra cleaned. One of the best Homely stay in Guruvayur.
Sterling Guruvayur is located in Mammiyur Junction, Guruvayur, Thrissur district of Kerala. It is around 1 km away from the Main temple Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple. It is Very close to Mammiyur Siva temple and Punnathur Anakotta (Elephant Camp). The hotel has ample parking space. Compared to other resorts of Sterling group, only guest rooms are here and some rooms are inter connected.
This hotel is around 1.5kms from Guruvayur Temple. The hotel is maintained neat and clean. The staffs are cooperative. They have vegetarian restaurant at ground floor. We had buffet dinner while we stay here but not having much varieties. They also serve make to order food available in their menu card. But the breakfast is really good and have many varieties to select from menu. We checked with the staffs on their lunch option and they told that they have two options are there. One is vegetarian thali and other one is Kerala style meals. We have opted for Kerala style meals but when we served we found that it is not at all worth to pay 350 INR/person. Wouldn't recommend to have lunch here as there is no value for money.
We thought of trying any Kerala style authentic food here but we couldn't able to see anything like that Dissatisfied on lunch though we have paid huge price. Only good thing here that the food is healthy and doesn't contain much spicy or masala. It will be mostly suitable for kids and Senior peoples. Overall experience is good but they should revisit their lunch menu to have Kerala authentic varieties.
Looks like a new place. Good looking interiors. We had 2 rooms for my family and one of it had missing menu card, tv remote, toiletries etc) and food we ordered for dinner via room service was really bad. But next day breakfast was good. Security was very helpful to find us auto early morning to go to Temple. All in all, an okay place to just spend the night when u are visiting the temple town
A perfect keralite lunch on banana leaf. Served with 4 varieties of chutney, 4 varieties of vegetables, and the ultimate rasam and sambhar with a banana along with banana wafer and Kerala rice the speciality as well as plain rice with two mouth watering dessert.one was wheat kheer and one was rice kheer. OMG how can I forget the papad and pickle.
Being a member of Sterling Holidays I was utilizing properties of Sterling especially Kodaikanal for the past several years and enjoyed stay at Sterling @ Guruvayoor also and was satisfied. Located nearby to Mammiyoor temple this property is very near to Guruvayur Railway Station. This is a hotel property which has been earlier known as Hotel Gateway. Nearby a Bar is located. As like all other properties Guruvayur Sterling also provides all its facilities, right from rooms to food, up to our entire satisfaction. Though the Sri Krishna temple is nearby it can be easily accessed from this hotel by taking a auto which is available all time to and fro.
Extremely dissatisfied with the stay at this hotel. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. It is more like 3 star amenities with 1 star cleanliness and staff and management that does not seem to be able to run a hotel. We had the hotel reserved online (at least a couple of hours before getting there) and they had to spent about 10-15 minutes "getting the room ready". We get to the rooms. One had a strong pesticide odor, which they claimed was room freshener. There were roaches in the bathroom. The other room had a strong damp odor along with the odor of insecticides. After all this, the "getting ready" portion apparently does not include checking for fresh towels. We had to ask for towels in both rooms. Except for these "minor issues at a 4 star hotel" the stay was great.
Stayed at this hotel on Feb 18th and 19th. It's about 1km away from Guruvayur temple. And pretty near to Mammiyur temple. The restrooms were neat and clean and well maintained. Hot /cold water was available in tap/shower. Toiletries (soap/shampoo/moisturizer, hair dryer) were available. Electronic safe was available to keep the valuables. Iron board and extra pillows were available. Packaged bottle water and tea/coffee were also available.
Complimentary breakfast was delicious. Loved the vanilla milkshake. Poori, Idly, Puttu Dosa and Vada were there. Dinner was alacarte and we tried the mixed veg curry and chilly mushroom. Cream of Mushroom soup was good as well. Overall, for the price it's worth it.
We got stuck because of the strike due to sabrimala and hot delayed by 2 hrs and the charged extra money for two rooms.and the receptionist misinformed us and the gm also denied any help.and they misbehaved with us remarking "get out" after payment.very rude staff and the rooms were ok
Hotel is at least a kilometer away from the temple. Exteriors and ambience are good but for the cost, the rooms could have been better. Food was very average. There are better hotels around the temple if you are staying for Darshan.
