Least bothered about the building maintenance and amenities provided to the guest. My friends gone through a serious accident only because of the negligence they gave to the guard rail on second floor. By god’s grace or something they came back to life even they suffered with serious internal and external injuries which shook the normal life which they were having before.

Absolutely zero facilities or services. No water, kettle, hooks or places to hang clothes or keep your stuff.

Update: since the property owner/manager responded to suggest that a kettle would be provided upon request (and ignored the rest of my feedback), allow me to add this too.
1. We had to request for bottled water for which we were charged. And then later we learn that they are supposed to deliver 2 bottles of water to each room on a daily basis. Instead what they do is deliver water every 2 or 3 days. If you ask for water in between those days, you'd be charged. Nice money making scheme boys!
2. I once went into the kitchen to borrow a plate and mug/glass. Much to my dismay and disgust, what I found were kitchen essentials that looked like they had not been cleaned for ages. And when I thought I'd wash the glasses myself, I found dish washing soap that looked even dirtier than the glass!

My suggestion to the property manager is to clean up your act and everything else at your resort instead of trying to defend yourself. I have images too that I prefer to keep to myself.

Don't ever ask the manager anything because he is all along witty, morning coffee when ordered the server boy told that his manager has strictly instructed not to give any customers anything, I was like what the hell,

My husband and I were afraid with the mixed reviews.but it turned out to be a really good decision. The view from the 2nd Floor room is very good.the care takers were very friendly and service was good. It was budget friendly hotel. There is good access to the beach. I would recommend the Owner if they paint the rooms and renovate a bit.

The only reason we didn't check out immediately as we got into the property was its amazing location and breath taking view from the balcony. The room was clean, and that was all about it. Basic amenities were absent, the property as a whole is in need of regular upkeep. There are no ceiling fans on the second floor (only a wall fan), A. C.doesn't work properly. They don't even provide water jugs or tumblers. A maximum of 3 cars can be parked inside the property (and only if you have expert parking skills) others have to park on the main road. Don't expect housekeeping or any other type of service once you check in. Having mentioned all of this, we had never stayed in a property this close (hardly 20 mt away) to the beach before.

Rooms are very average and house keeping service is very very poor.but the only advantage of this resort is its location.just go out of the gate, cross the road and you are on beach

Perfect spot for beach house, good rooms.
Negatives:
1. No light in balcony of side view rooms
2. Car parking space should be increased. It has capacity to store 2 cars only inside.

I've been there twice it's very budget friendly and exactly opposite to the beach nyc staff they will help you out

I am more than sure the response is not from the owner rather from manager. You need to ensure your staffs are up to date with the information. Yes, I did have the permission from your co workers to shift to an available room when it was being cleaned. Only after that, I went up and saw there was a key hanging on the door. I knocked thrice and then went inside. How can you talk to Customers so rudely. They are not the people working under you and I hope you first of all understand the the wrong attitude being carried by you.

I have visited this property last weekend. The staffs are really awesome and very very helpful.
The Manager: Johnson is so calm and good person.
The helping staffs: Chandan and Sanju (they are from Assam) are just more than awesome. They are very punctual and disciplined.

Neet and clean rooms. But rust in each and every metal parts. Doors are not safe much. No tv. No cupboards.

We recently stayed here for 2 days. The rooms are just okay. We booked three rooms and The AC wasn't working properly in any of them and one of the rooms on the third floor did not even have a fan. Overall not a great stay except for the view

Situated right on the payybalam beach it's an amazing beach view resort! The rooms are well maintained and the seafacing ones offer a really good view. Polite and accomodating staff.

Its a beautiful space we went 2times. Sea view room, side sea view room we experimenting both. Both have their own beauty in vibes. Beach was good for walking in jan times. This time it was too much raining.
Room was all comfortable to stay. Not much worth for the money comparing to other places but eventhough its wonderfull experience to face the sea. I felt like kannur must promote in tourism so that they can hit more.

The location is the best-selling, just a road across the beach. Rooms in the 2nd floor are bit small, if u have the option choose the room from the 1st floor. Only breakfast is provided, for other meals online ordering is the option.

Sunfun is one the affordable beach stays in kannur. Try to book directly by calling the hotel management instead of booking online which will save you a minimum of Rs. 1K. Interiors are decent, the view from the balcony is just awesome. The hotel management and also the helpers are very polite. Owner Jobesh is such a caring and polite person. He helps guests in every possible way.

Coming to the food, they have a very limited menu as they cook by themselves, but the taste is really satisfactory.

Rooms are okay… I would say price is not given for the rooms interior, personally felt it could’ve maintained better. Book second floor rooms for better beach view & no hot water as it’s completely Solar. But they provide hot water based on request in bucket. Don’t expect them in shower. Rooms and the balcony could’ve maintained better. Giving 3 star only for the view. If the same hotel doesn’t have view I would’ve given 1 star only.

Prefer this if u r in a budget and need beach view

If you're booking via Booking.com or some such website which says you don't need to pay any advance amount for this property, don't be fooled. They ask for advance payment. They might send you a mail, but (unlike most other hotel owners) wouldn't call you to inform you about the "fine print". If you miss the mail, the reservation would depend on "availability at the time" - which means your reservation is meaningless. Be careful about this place.

Update: The response of the owner clearly shows his attitude - his money matters; not the money of the customers who have to scout for alternative places at short notice. After my review was posted, he has also got his acquaintances to add artificial 5* reviews to bolster the rating. Good for him. I hope he extends this promptness to call customers to inform them that he follows "rules" different from the rules that customers see while booking using aggregator websites. Life would be easier for everybody then.

It wasn't worth the price. Doors had lock issue. The fan was working hence we asked to be shifted to another place. Otherwise the stay was good. The beach was right opposite the stay so great views to the sea.

Helpful staff and manager. Building looks a little old but it's maintained neatly.
Suggestion: Provide breakfast early so that tourists can start off their day early without missing out on the local cuisine.

The room I booked was supposed to be with bathtub as mentioned on Goibibo, but none of the rooms have bathtub, many features not included in the room. Was upsetting. Room was small, no study table, ceiling fan was terrible, it was a hugh wall fan which was rusted. Room is not soundproof. The bed was very hard and improper blanket provided. No TV in the room. Hot water was available regularly in the room. Only 1 towel was provided for 2 guests, I had to ask for it. No intercom in the room. They must include more aminities in the room.

Rooms are spacious and naturally well lit.
Location is mind blowing.jus cross a mini road n ur right in a super clean beach.

Service is where the hotel guys need to pick up as it can b slow n lethargic at times.jus to add even the air conditioning system is controlled by the management.so u may xperience a few hours of no ac service at times.due to all d weird reasons u can come across.but I guess all hotels in the premises function d same way. **jus assuming**

However it's still worth a visit place for the budget traveller

The stay is right in front of the beach, the sea facing rooms are excellent. Have been here for the fourth time and will continue to visit this place. The staff are cool and very helpful.

Spent our 2022 New Year eve at this beachfront stay. Even with Curfew in place, we got to walk down the beach, watch the stars with drinks.

Pros:
1. Beachfront - the best part. Very close to the beach.
2. Very less or no people at the beach most of the time.
3. Very affordable during all days except New Year night
4. Room is spacious and decent

Cons:
1. No TV - I understand this is because of the salt content from beach might cause defects in electronic devices - we do play games on console so this was a minus point for us.
2. Thalassery is the go-to place to get some good food, or shopping in commercial stores. Was expecting some very nearby 3 or 4 star hotels. (Not a con of this stay, but the surroundings got to improve as these stays catch the demand)

We’re sure we’ll be back to this beautiful place sometime this year again. If you’re thinking of going Drive-in from this stay, it won’t be too much of a problem - 40 min away from Drive-in is okay.

The only good part about this place was the beach & the lit signboard.
Overall it's just a mediocre and overrated place which was built competently but at an ancient time.
For the kind of price that you pay its clearly not worth how much they ask for it.
Rooms are old and outdated plus they're not very well taken care of, one can see pieces of mortar falling everywhere beds are squeaky and the most importantly the linen was not clean upto the mark.
There's only one care taker who's north eastern and very helpful, apparently he was the only one who was giving helpful instructions.
The place doesn't have a kitchen & all the places that deliver food here take 40+ minutes so you better come equipped beforehand also getting here is a bit tricky so that if you're coming by a slightly bigger car chances are you'll get stuck in the narrow lanes.
There are better & neat places around this location which are recommendable.
Overall a 'not so very nice' experience of this place & if i had not done the payment earlier & cancellation was possible i would've happily opted for a refund.

You will get Larger than life feeling from this resort, superb view of Sea, can see dolphins from gallery only.staff & owner both are very supportive.only thing is there is little bit problem of transportation & electricity.rest every things are awesome

Good budget stay for group and a superb view of the beach. You can spend your time just staring at the sea from the balcony.

A very comfortable stay, with a view of the sea. Worth the money. Neat and clean rooms. With a view like that, someone like me would just sit and chill all day and night.

No restaurants close by, try some home delivery options.kannur has almost everything from restaurants to kfc.

All I wanted was to stay close to the beach watching those waves.

It's quite out of the way with no shops or restaurants around it. You are however a stones throw away from the beach. Owner is really nice and helpful, but considering the room is described as deluxe it didn't really live up to expectations. Some things that are basics like a safe, fridge or water just weren't provided. The bed was rock solid which wasnt comfortable. The room was really aesthetically pleasing, but just missed a few essentials that most travellers would expect.

Breakfast was OK, but the guys working there only offered egg, toast and jam. Upon talking to the owner he said they also had a traditional Indian breakfast which weren't offered. They brought it to our room which was great.

I believe there is also a common room, but we weren't shown that.

Came to Kannur just for a day or two, but stayed here almost 2 weeks. Quiet and relaxing place, so close to the beach. Awesome staffs and delicious home cooked food. Vijay was so approachable and kind, even though we kept on extending our stay at the last minute. I love this place so much, it's just perfect.

Stayed for one night, the rooms are nothing like in the photos, not well maintained, the bedsheets and towels had stains on them, the extra bed which they provided looked as though it wasnt cleaned in ages.

However the location is brilliant and the owner was courteous and a good person, I hope you guys can uplift the maintainence.

Poor Maintenance, only Bread & poori Baji for the Break fast (fixed Menu all the 365days) -not fit for even one star

If you are someone looking for a calm and peaceful stay, this is the place, located at payyambalam beach. View from this place is breathtaking. Rooms we're clean and neat and wifi is free. Room service is available. Owner is very friendly.

Stayed for 2 nights in December last week, it was a very nice experience. The place is quite and near to beach. My kids enjoyed the beach very much, the beach is clean and very less crowded. Simple veg food was served and was like home food. Would definitely visit again. And Vijay was a very good host

Great place, Vijay is the man. Very helpful, beautiful rooms (ask for the top floor corner room) with dolphin view.

Perfect place to stay for peaceful vacation along with Family and friend.view from here is breathtaking.we really enjoyed hospitality. Thanks Vijay for making our visit memorable.and thanks to all other staffs Bharath, Sonu and Sushil too! Would definitely like to come again!
