Food and service were pathetic.extrrmely expensive too.go somewhere else.the manager is a petty fellow.

Delicious plant based food, sea view and beautiful place. On the menu there are many vegetarian and vegan options and the staff are happy to accommodate your food preferences.
We came here more than once and we enjoyed the food each time. The service was great and Subas who attended to us was very kind and helpful in our food preferences.

Chicken Manchurian had lot of bones which hurt the tongue.as we complain it to the manager he's likes nothing happened.if the service continues like this, hotel will be closed soon. Idiots

Good food and wonderful ambiance! But Staffs behave very nice until we ask the bill. Unfortunately, we wait for 45 minute's to get the bill and once we ask the time delay, an hindi speaking staff started arguing with out any manners.

My recent visit to this restaurant was truly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. I feel compelled to provide a detailed review to share the extent of my disappointment.

Poor Service and Hospitality:
From the moment we entered the restaurant, it was evident that the staff's attitude towards us was far from welcoming. We waited to be seated for an uncomfortably long time, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. Once seated, we had to flag down a server just to get menus.

Throughout our meal, the staff displayed a lack of attentiveness. Empty water glasses went unnoticed, and we had to ask multiple times for basic condiments. Their indifference to our needs left us feeling neglected and frustrated.

Incorrect Orders:
To make matters worse, our orders were completely botched. The dishes that arrived at our table were not what we had ordered. It was not a minor mix-up; we received entirely different meals. This error in the kitchen further compounded our dissatisfaction.

Mediocre Food:
Even if the orders had been correct, the quality of the food itself was disappointing. The flavors were lackluster, and the presentation was unimpressive. It was evident that little effort had gone into preparing our meals.

Ambiance:
The overall ambiance of the restaurant left much to be desired. The décor seemed outdated and lacked any distinct character. Combined with the indifferent service, it contributed to a lackluster dining atmosphere.

In summary, this restaurant provided an incredibly frustrating and disappointing dining experience. The staff's lack of courtesy and attentiveness, combined with incorrect orders and mediocre food, left me with a lasting negative impression. I would strongly advise against dining here, as it fails to meet even the most basic expectations for a pleasant dining experience.

Sun Rise - Their food is totally waste. We tried red snapper fish, rice n parottas and few cocktails.

They serve ready made parottas which is pathetic to eat and the fish curry and fry are not having enough masala and salt.

I recommend not to try and don’t waste your money.

It's really hard to find good veg cuisine in varkala so for me food was just okay.
Otherwise it is nice place to sit and enjoy the view.

Great ambience, Well spoken staff and Great service. But the food was utter poor in quality. I ordered Chicken fried rice and Chilli chicken, both were terrible. Someone should do something about their chef.

I loved this place so much that I ate there every single day, for 5 days straight! You can sit inside or outside, the view is amazing, overlooking the whole varkala beach. They serve a variety of food - different cuisines, so even if you miss Western food- they have it there. I suggest paneer pakotta- the best one I've ever had. Ask for chaat masala, dip in it - and it's pure heaven! Also, butter paneer masala as well as mushroom masala are amazing choices to try! The staff are super helpful and amazing. If you want the best service-and table, grab a table at the top, outside, far right. As the service staff have their own designated areas. Don't forget to tip them well.as it's their primary income.

We had Kerala style fish curry with parota, it was quite nice. The fish was fresh & the curry was tasty, it was somehow a mix of north & South Indian gravy

Nice ambience and Seaview from the restaurant. Food is little bit expensive, but it is worth totally. Service is good.waiters are very polite and professional. There is so much food options available in both vegetarian and non vegetarian. We can sit, relax and enjoy the view. The only negative is, handwash area in the top floor is a bit nasy and unclean.

Very bad experience at this restaurant Chicken was not cooked properly and informed the waiter, he took and heated little more & bought. The extra 2 porota ordered was not pressed even.

Never ever go to this place. Didn't even want to give one star.such a bad experience. Never had such a bad and unhygienic food. Food had no taste and chicken pieces in it was very bad in condition. Table was too dirty.pathetic experience

The food is amazing the view is really good. The pricing in menu is also good. Even the staff is also nice. But the restaurant Owner is such a attitude fellow. Please learn how to treat customers with respect instead of arrogant nature.
We almost spend 17000 in the restaurant for a group of 6 and just for the fun we asked discount (Not that we wanted it) but the owner just gave a look and said, just eat and go, we are not here for charity. That was extremely bad. If this is the attitude you give to the customer, we wont go for sure.

We actually had plans to go the next day but skipped because of this incident.

Delicious food and great hospitality. Fast service with affordable rates with great quality. Family and bachelors can enjoy the vibe. We had beef dry fry and fish chilly with butter nan.

I have been twice to Sunrise cafe simultaneously in this week.
During first visit I loved the place and the service. We ordered veg momos and a large pot of tea. It was upto the mark. Great taste and service by the guy who wears a bandana. Only Waiting time for momos was a bit long but the guy had kept an eye on our table and informed us about its preparation, so no worries.

The very next day things went different as we were attended by another guy and food preparation was too long this time, momos shape and size changed, the chutney changed and interestingly "Dal makhni" which I had ordered without butter. It was simply a yellow daal with jeera tadka & red chilli tadka mixed with cream although good in taste but just not anywhere near dal makhni. Would like if they improvise on it.

Terrible service, terrible bland and undercooked food. Rude servers, and no proper management. Took over an hour to deliver the food when the entire restaurant was empty. It is probably THE worst restaurant. And to add to all the above it's expensive with very small servings

It has a good soothing vibe at night and it's also a sea facing restaurant. You can relax and have good food out there.

Ordered chocolate milkshake and cold coffee with milkshake. We were set to enjoy our sunset with some good drink. In a 300ml glass we found a rock of ice that literally didn't melt for 30mins. The size of the ice cube I've attached pics you can't see there. It's almost half the size of glass. And the ice cream, there was only 1 spoon (not scoop) of ice cream. But the price is ₹150. Waste. Wish i could give 0 star.

Worst place in Varkala to have food. These guys doesn’t have enough staff to serve you. We were made to wait for 2 hours to serve food. That too not the main course we ordered just a cold coffee. Food doesn’t taste good either. Wont recommend them to even my enemy.

The view was amazing but the quality of cocktail was very poor I ordered a mojito from there but they delivered a poor mojito sugar not added well, dear team sunrise please check the quality of the product I given four star only for ambiance and view!

Probably the worst food i've ever had in my life. No salt, no spices, just oil and raw vegetables. They take atleast 40 minutes to prepare bad food. They didn't even give water on time.

The structure of the restaurant is built in such a way that any person sitting at extreme corner of the restaurant can encounter either an eagle or it's excreta. Probably the worst experience of my life. Advising each and everyone of you to stat away from SUNRISE RESTAURANT VARKALA. They eveb scammed me by just serving 1 lassi when I had paid for 2. Pathetic Spot. (Angry me given below)

I had a long Island iced tea and fries. This review is about the cocktail.
This was the worst cocktail I have ever had. The service was really slow too. Took more than 15 minutes to get the fries after getting the cocktail. It felt like they wanted us to sit there longer to get more customers in (I'm guessing).

The view is amazing from the restaurant at around sunset. The place provides beer and alcohol which comes in handy depending on who you're with. Cheap and chill place.

Food is average.

The dishes served here are fabulous to eat but there is a catch you have to wait for time to have a delight. It's always worth the wait that too when to get such awesome exotic foods.

Recommended! One of the better restaurants in Varkala which has very good Kerala cuisine and drinks at reasonable rates. Not the most elegant ambience, but a great view of the beach from the restaurant.

Food is very expensive, almost all the restaurants in the cliff are not budget friendly they have hyped prices for everything these are pocket killers particularly for seafood there is no dish below 300, I ordered prawn masala fish pakoda. Fish pakoda was with more of flour less fish stuff inside, prawn masala priced at 300 just 5 medium size prawns were there and they added prawns head Portion to make up the quantity to look more. Ambience was good, sea view was nice. No budget and pocket friendly restaurants on the Varkala cliff.they know that tourists will spend money anyhow as there are no other budget food options in varkala north cliff, there are 2 local hotels near the south side cliff and near Papanasam beach and near Sree Janardhana Swamy temple.

Good food with beautiful view

The view from their balcony is marvelous. Not recommended to visit their from 2pm-4pm (the sunlight is strong and it'll be on your face directly). You can book the beach view tables, if needed.

Also it is not crowded. So less noise and more peace ambience.

Food is good, not the great. All menu items are over priced (common in all cafés). Also it'll take much time to get the food you order. For us it was 40 mins above. Multi cuisine, and they will replace the food if it's not properly cooked (we had an experience).

For us, the customer service was good, accepts card payment.

Its affordable in terms of price but be ready to compromise on quality. We ordered a cocktail and shake with chocolate icecream. It was below average.

We are totally disappointed.

The restaurant do have a good ambience and a better sitting space as well. One can sit in the balcony area where you can have a good view of the Arabian Sea.

Although, the waiting period for your food is infinite.it took them 1.5 hours to bring our food. And even then the food was not up to the mark. In face, we had to return one of the item which ruined the experience of having food in a sea facing restaurant. They later deducted the amount of that item from the bill by themselves.

The staff is really what has me coming back this location has great view, the staffs are wonderful and sweet. The place has amazing view which piece the mind. I love the food very much.

This is one of those joints in varkala cliff that has a splendid view from its rooftop dining area. The slight arch of the whole beach is the kind of view it has to offer. The service was quite professional and amicable. We reached the place at around 5 in the evening and had one amazing sunset. Along with chilled beer. The candle light dinner that follows is something i would recommend to everyone who is visiting varkala.

Food was way below expectations. Potatoes, supposedly grilled were undercooked and not grilled at all, veg manjurian tasteless and not crunchy. And we've waited over am hour to get our meal. Disappointing. Good view though.

Sunrise used to be an excellent spot over looking the Varkala cliff. But unfortunately during our last visit there, their food gave us stomach problems. It's premises was not at all neat and hygienic.

The place has a brilliant view and courteous staff. We ordered breakfast. The eggs were well made and the tea was also fine. The aloo parantha we got was a bit over charred on one side. The process seems to be the same as all the other places along the cliff.

I tried the breakfast set here, it was really good. Good value of money. Staff is good. We can get a very good view of the beach which makes the ambience really good.

Nice place to eat. We had early dinner there yesterday. On top of that you get great views of the beach while enjoying the really nice food. The portions were big and generous and the ingredients seemed fresh
