Bad behaviour of front office while late night, very high price for rooms which are not spacious and facilties.

Very bad customer service! We order just 1 biriyani and 1 fried rice and we waited for 45mins! Still didnt get the food! When we tried to inform this to the waiter Jibin (name) he approached us in a very rude manner! Such a shame! Never thought Sun Star would treat their customers this way!

We waited for atlest a hour and half for the food when we came it wasnt that good also it was cold, service was bad

Restaurant side is doing well. But hotel service is like a scam. They don't give the exact rooms booked. They gave me more rooms instead of accommodating friends in the most efficient way.
And when it's asked.they just blabbering and act like they don't know anything.
Such a shame for such a service group. Never gonna take rooms from this place again. ####

Food was ok! But the attitude of the staff is not good or welcoming. I din't feel like going there again after seeing how we are being treated at their restuarant

I couldn't get anything else near to the Marriage hall. Same people on this.
Positive: Only people talk nicely!
Negative: Small rooms. Even the Deluxe room will be small and doesn't have a geyser in it Standard and Deluxe? How could someone run a hotel like this? TV connection every time we have contact and make them fix it they will take one hour. They don't change seat covers and other bathing stuff won't be available. I stayed there for more than one week (booked 22 rooms). If you're ordering food make sure you order 2 hours before they delay it like your hungry is gone. Every day same breakfast I don't know how people are saying it's nice.

Reasonably priced, tasty food and friendly staff. Their kizhi porotta and kalam biriyani are worth trying.

Ambiance is attractive. Nice place with friends or family. But hospitality of the staff is poor.

Best restaurant in Pala. You won't find such an amazing ambience elsewhere. Food is as fresh as it can get. Ample parking. Neat and tidy rooms. Very friendly staff.

Very good car parking and decent food menu.
Continental dishes are not available. Fruit salad is overpriced and quantity is very less.
Chiken kadai was superb. Chappathi is not that much soft but good. Service and ambiance is very good. Their menu is excellent. Many varieties of foods are available.

I had been here earlier before 1and half year now they had changed there interior it looks good, Pizza tasted good before now it seem bit undercooked with less topings, fried rice was good in quantity and quality

Food, -1 out of 5, quality is very poor, I had fish curry meals today. The taste is just poor or we can say no taste at all. In fish curry meals the size of fish might be 10grms and other 3 side dishes sambar and pulisheri. And one small gulab jam. And it cost 180rs. Ordered 1 beef fry 260rs (small portion), one Kozhuva fry -180rs. I'm ready to pay the bill if quality justifies the price, but here it's not so we will not recommend this place for food.

Went to the restaurant to have lucnh. The ambience and cleanliness is great. The service is very bad, they make us wait for hours, even to get the menu. Food ia presented well, but not great.

Went to the restaurant for lunch.unfortunately bad experience for us.waited for 30 minutes but nobody comes there for take an order.disappointed.returned back.nobody was enquired the issue.pls take a minute for customer satisfaction.

Restaurant food is excellent. Even deluxe rooms are small, but regrettably dies not have hot-cold water in the bath. You have call and get hot water buckets.

The food is really good there. We had fried rice, pizza and a milk shake. All of them are fine. But the wait time was a bit long between the dishes.

We had 36 nos people. The food was not good & they just adjusted with available material. The single billing of all persons is not correct. We had to pay additional payments due to their incorrect billing. The attitude of Hotel manager Sijo towards customer is very disappointing.
Please be careful on their billing if you are going as a group.

Nice place to stay. You will get poori and veg curry (60Rs I think) in the morning else you need to go for buffet.

Budget cosy clean rooms in Pala town itself. Highly recommend for short stays. Good breakfast too

ഞാനും എന്റെ 4 സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ കൂടിയും കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം (09.01.2020) സൺ സ്റ്റാറിൽ പോവുകയുണ്ടായി. എന്റെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾ 4 പേരും തലേ ദിവസം അവിടെ തന്നെയാണ് താമസിച്ചത്.

ഞാൻ ഉച്ച കഴിഞ്ഞാണ് അവിടെ എത്തിയത്. I മണിക്കൂർ സമയത്തേക്ക് മീറ്റിംഗ് കൂടുവാൻ കോൺഫറൻസ് ഹാൾ ചോദിച്ചു. സൗകര്യം അവിടെ ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാൽ ഒരു റൂമിൽ അത് അറേഞ്ച് ചെയ്ത് നൽകാമെന്നും 7000 രൂപ ചാർജ് ആകുമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചു. തുക കൂടുതൽ ആയതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ റസ്റ്ററന്റിൽ ഇരുന്നു സംസാരിച്ചോളാമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചു റസ്റ്ററന്റിൽ എത്തുകയും 1000 രൂപയിലധികം തുക വരുന്ന ഭക്ഷണം ഓഡർ ചെയ്ത് കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ബിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ ഒരു 1000 രൂപ കൂടി അധികം വന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കാൻ സാധാരണയിൽ കൂടുതൽ സമയം എടുത്തു എന്നതായിരുന്നു ജീവനക്കരുടെ വിശദീകരണം.

എന്തായാലും എങ്ങനെയായാലും കാശുണ്ടാക്കണം എന്ന കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുള്ള ചുമതലയുണ്ടാരുന്ന മാനേജർ, മാന്യതയുടെ, സഭ്യതയുടെ എല്ലാ അതിരുകളും ലംഘിച്ചാണ് സംസാരിച്ചത്.

എന്തായാലും 1000 രൂപ അധികം നൽകി സൺസ്റ്ററിന്റെ കഴുത്തറപ്പൻ നയത്തോട് വിയോജിപ്പ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി അവിടുന്ന് പിരിഞ്ഞു.

Nice place to dine out with family and friends. Good ambience and well behaved staffs. Variety of cuisines to choose. Food is tasty and hygienic. Large parking area also available. Rooms also available but not sure about rates.

Facilities are average. Neat and clean washroom. Towels had stains like blood or rust. Toileteries & Electric kettle etc.was not available. Fast check in & check out. Breakfast menu was few but very tasteful

Their food is always excellent! I always eat here when I come to Pala. Breakfast buffet puris are amazing Their service is also fantastic and the location is also convenient

Overall experience is good. Tasty food and nice ambience. The place is so hot today. Consider AC halls or install more fans in the main hall.

Rooms are neat, but no running hot water. They had to arrange two buckets of water. No arrangements for tea in room. Room Service does not start before 7 am. Leaves a lot of scope for improvement. If this is an OYO standards property then they should quickly take steps to improve it.

Best place to stay in Pala with or without family. Very clean all over. Friendly staff. Great service. Location is best. Walk to transport station to travel anywhere. I am staying here since October 15,2019 until October 28th, 2019 till we leave back to USA. No complaints.

I visited with my family members, on 7th october. Hotel manager Mr. Sijo and Front office manager Mr. Aneesh Served and helped us. They were very helping. Thanks for the great setvice.

Kind of reasonable price compared to other Western fooderies.
They have quite a few good meal options too along with thier individual items.
They work alone as a restaurant and also a residency or a place to conduct a party.
It have wheel chair accessible entrance and a decent parking space.
It's on one of the ways to Chavara/Vincent and loaded kids love this place.

It's a hospital converted to restaurant and lodge. The restaurant is there on ground floor and the hospital rooms above ground floor is converted as rooms.

They have done a pretty good job of converting with minimum change in the the structure.

The food is good and prices reasonable. Ambience is also good

This was the worst experience i ever had from a hotel. I booked room through OYO and paid for it. I booked it a day before and i got message that my booking was confirmed. And i reached the hotel at 8 pm next day (traveling after driving for ~ 170 km). The hotel staff told me that my booking didn't exist and i should contact the OYO support for anything and they can't help me. They were acting like i was some sort of beggar. I contacted OYO and after 10 mins, one of the hotel staff informed me that i should pay 3500 rs for a room for a single night. I said no and i told them i would contact OYO customer support again. After 20 mins of calls, OYO customer executive informing me that their manager is refusing to attend the call, finally another staff came out and informed me that i should pay the amount in difference, which was about ~1600 rs.
They way they talked was simply rude and they then told me that their contract with OYO was for 2500 rs / room per night. So now its 2500 rs for a room and 30 mins before they told me that its 3500 rs for a room.
I said, NO and walked out and OYO shifted me to a premium hotel free of cost and gave me 100% refund, BUT the new hotel location was 27 km away from this location. So i had to pack again and travel 27 km at 9 pm.
The entire thing was nothing but a complete nightmare, i learned a valuable lesson. It doesn't matter if the staff are in tip-top uniform or the hotel looks nice, cheap people are nothing but cheap.
The staff here are horrible, or maybe they are trained to be like that, they wont smile or talk properly. They talk as if they are doing us a favor by giving us room, WHICH we paid for.

To the Hotel Management team, (if they read this)
As a customer, i dont give a * about your contract with OYO or your rates, i booked my room and if you are unable to provide a room for the said rate, have some decency and inform the customer to cancel it before the arrival time / date. Don't expect the customer to pay extra because of your cheap-tactics policies.
If i wanted a room for 3500 + 900 rs, i would book in a Silver-key, Premium, Flagship or Capital O hotel from OYO, or i could even book a room at Le Meridien and not this cheap hotel. (average price is around 3300 at Le Meridien).
It was cleaver and but nothing short of cheap tactics to offer room for 3500rs by your hotel staff, they thought i would accept it because it was 8: 30 pm? I would rather drive 50 Km extra rather than spent a single min at such a cheap hotel.

If you are a traveler, i strongly suggest you stay away from this hotel. The staff arent nice, they will try to persuade you to pay more if its night, they will pull up random cheap tactics, the manager wont answer the phone and you will be stranded in the middle of nowhere at the time. My best advice is to simply book for a better hotel at Etumanoor or Kottayam, which has better facilities at a better price.

I love this place, this is in the prime location you can easily get whatever you required. Their catering is good, and rooms also.but no proper room service was there no geyser, laundry, ironing g clothes neither do they have any proper room service. Apart from these major issues still you can love there as rooms are fine to stay. They do have banquet hall for marriage and ceremonies

Huge restaurant in pala with proper service. Descent arrangement for on an celebration. Wash room is little congusted and no wash room for kids. But we enjoyed.

Place is good as well as hotel room but the manager in the night shift was horrible and has no manners to talk with guests. I booked a room for 2 nights@704/- directly from oyo app but at the time of check in the night shift manager said he will not accept the oyo app rates, so i have to paid rs. 1700/- for just a night. This was really very baf and worst i have faced.

This was one of the lousiest hotel I have stayed. Based on the reviews in trip advisor I decided to stay at this hotel against the recommendation of my relatives. After staying here for a night I knew why they were against. The room smelled like sewage leaky musty odor and Dusty. White towels looked yellow. Room service phone went unanswered. There was a non existing customer service. No friendly greetings. Do not try the restaurant. Food was lousy. Please don't go by their website. If you do you will be disappointed

I stayed with my family at sunstar nice hotel with amble parking at heart of the city pala food was excellent rooms where well maintained stayed there for two nights to attend a marriage function. Definitely come back when I visit pala again
