This is one of the oldest restaurants in Kochi. The taste of Andhra meals and Andhra Biriyani was exceptional. I strongly recommend this place for all the foodies who want to experience a genuine traditional cuisine.
This is probably the only restaurant serving Andhra Meals within Kochi city from a long time. However, the most unique Andhra dishes served within the meal are not authentic and lacks taste. The dal (Andhra pappu) isn't exactly the real one and not prepared from its actual procedure. Same applies to the other dishes like Chutney, sambar etc. The papad served is rather Kerala papad which shouldn't be the case at all. I am not sure whether the restaurant would consider revisiting their recipes and make the meal pure Andhra authentic. The meal is very much customised to savour the malayali crowd I guess and that is something it doesn't live up to the name.
We tried the Butter chicken, Butter Naan with Chicken Lollipop. Everything was really good, had been butter chicken for a while, and it was the right choice to try it here. It was flavourful, the quantity was good. The staff is welcoming, the service is great. The ambience & the music gives you a vintage touch. Overall I loved the experience.
Years back I was a regular visitor in this restaurant. They were serving delicious food at that time. On belief that still the restaurant maintains the quality inadvertently I visited there. When we enter head of the waiter will ask do u want Biriyani or meals.afterwards he provides a table. Unfortunately food I had was the worst I experienced during last many years. John Xavier
Over oil in mutton, chicken briyani and fried rice (chicken). Basmathi rice used not good for taste. It's was very huge size can't chewing. Roti is good. And cost of food very high. Compare to Kerala normal restaurant.
Visited Tandoor Chillies Restaurant for Andhra Meals. We had Andhra style chicken biryani, which is very tasty. Highly recommended for people who come from Andhra Pradesh.
This place never failed to impress. More than quality the consistency is what requires a big pat on the back for the team. I come once every year and every time i went back with mind and my appetite full.
Forever favourite dinner spot for some amazing Kadai Chicken & Tandoori Naan. Been a regular customer for years and never disappointed. Usually go here for dinner with family. Parking space available. And good customer service. Have and Would definitely recommend
Good Ambiance, good food, good management. But…. Hospitality of few staffs are not well. It will create uncomfortable moments……. Please take care and supervise…. Quality of the food
I ordered a biryani through swiggy. It was one of the worst biryani I have ever had. It cost almost 180rupees. For that money I got a over spicy biryani with 1 tiny piece chicken. There are other shops that give so much better biryani for cheaper price.
Food and service were excellent and the prices were very reasonable. We would definitely eat here again! If you're looking for some good North indian and Andhra food, then this is the right place
This was an awesome experience! We got both the veg and non veg options and a few starters and everything was very delicious. The restaurant is also very pretty and the service was excellent!
Wonderful food and great prices. The Paratha is delicious, the chicken korma spectacular. The portions are huge, I ate all of this food but it is enough for two people, I was completely full after it. Workers are nice and they do great recommendations on what to order.
As compared to some of the expensive restaurants in Kochi, Tandoor is not too expensive for dining. Their food and vibe is what makes them unique. I love going here for dinners. Tandoor has a variety of cuisines. Worth checking out.
Andhra food is good here, i felt bit congested in this place. Staff are really nice. Food is ok. Easy accessible. Finding parking spot is tricky, price range is bit high but no complaints when it come to the taste (non veg). Taking out 1 star because of the delay in service.
If you like andra food, then its a must visit place. Their authentic andra meals is recommended if you have the pallet. Hydrabadi biriyani is also worth trying. This place is opposite to Bhima Silver Palace at Woodlands Junction. The only drawback which we faced was the parking. Not enough space for parking.
The waiting period for ur order to be taken n then to be served is a quite long. After taking order they claim to deliver within 20 mins but for taking the order they take another 15 min. Food here is authentic n good.
Ooh mahn no word to say. Absolutely superb and delicious. I had tried their kadai chicken, panner butter masala and butter naan. Should visit there and it will be a different experience.
Good food, but the price is too high compared to other hotels of the same range. But they will never let you down when it comes to the taste and quality of food.
Went to the place in February 2021 fourth Saturday, very sad incident happened, there was a snail in salad kettle, I did a mistake that didn't took the pic of the same.because my wife got panic in that situation.
Most horrible reasturant to go on a Sunday. It took an hour to serve just a normal lunch (Thaali), many items were not available in the lunch, banana leaf was given only to few and taste was not great. If there was an option to specify zero stars, would have given that. Trying hard to forget such a bad experience, sorry. Thanks.
This restaurant might be good for tandoors and andhra food but a big no for anything else. Ordered kerala porotta and chilli chicken when we visited, the porotta was ok but the chilli chicken was a huge disappointment. It was made with something like kadai chicken with a very thick pasty coating which seemed undercooked and tasted pathetic! When we gave them a feedback on that they were least bothered. They charged ₹350 for that so called chilli chicken dish which was not even mentioned in their menu! And apart from the food, the toilet was also not maintained neatly.
I remember the taste and quality Tandoor used to offer in its yesteryears with that wow factor. The quality of Andhra meals was average, The chicken used in pepper chicken was stale, on complaining the waiter took it away and got the same thing back saying it was all fine. The manager did not want to make any effort to set things right, instead, he charged 70 % saying you ate one piece of chicken, also he charged 30 rs extra for the bowl of kheer which my child had requested.what better insensitive and unethical approach could a person in the service industry have, I asked him to charge full for the food I had, as I don't need their mercy.never coming back.and spreading the word to save my friends from this humiliation. Thattu kada nearby would give you better service, go learn from them.
Been a fan of this place for ages! They can never disappoint you! Don't forget to try chicken tikka and egg/chicken fried rice! You can have caramel pudding as a dessert as well!
Just visited tandoor restaurant today. Was an amazing treat of real punjabi food with same consistent taste 20 years. Really like their new interiors and my all time favourite Kesavan uncle was there to receive us.
This place is serving good tandoori dishes and North Indian dishes. They also have South Indian and Chinese too. It can get crowded during weekends and reservation of seats is recommended. They do not have beef on the menu though. Parking during peak hours can also be a but of an issue.
Taste is good but feels like little costly when compared with Ceylon restaurant which is near to this one.
+ Having a good space of car and bike Parking. + Good staff behaviour. + Good service + Decent taste. + Accepting card and cash payment (no UPI payment)
- Not visible from the roadside. - Little bit costly when compared with the quantity. - Sometimes its spicy. - not having kids menu.
Very tasty food. I had the hyderabadi chicken biriyani and to say, it tasted good.spicy. Also i had 1 Kerala porrotta. It was very good. Porotta INR 20 Chicken biriyani INR 170
Today I visited this hotel with my family and ordered Tandoori Chicken. It was not properly cooked and we ordered for Kadai Chicken as an additional dish. It was really horrible and the price they charged was not at all realistic.
For the bill that I paid at Tandoor, I can easily have a good dinner at Grand Hotel Cochin which is far far better than this sluggish restaurant
Extremely disappointed with the food and service now! I’ve been a customer since so many years as of now! Restaurant was one amongst my favourites but now I’m not happy with the food and services they avail.
They say it's authentic north Indian. Neither I liked their preparation nor did the friends from Delhi I went with.pathetic.the waiters took more than 50 minutes to bring the food
Tandoor is the place to be in after having two drinks late night.well known for juicy chicken.thumbs up.well.price is bit on the higher side though.but as the saying goes. Good things don't come cheap
Worst customer Service and Rude staffs. The old fellow among the waiter in the restaurant was like "order fast and get the hell out" attitude to the customers even though the shop had very few customers. Worst Place to have Food in Kochi.
I went there at night to have rice meals, the staff attitude was very bad, they did not serve me full dinner and when I questioned they said what you did not get can be deducted, it was a joke, i gave 2000 rs and got out from there, in life I will never enter this place,
Hi ordered chicken biryani for lunch expecting andhra style or hyderabad biryani. But disappointed after opening pack view rice used is long grain (expecting basmati rice) and biryani made pulav style with lot of oil. Two small chicken pieces and masala was ok. Quantity for Rs170 is too less but in kochi all hotels provided same qty biryani.
Nice Restaurant serving Andhra Cuisine in Ernakulam. Location is very Calm. Ambience is very very nice.
The Food provided (both Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian) was extremely good and delicious. Nicely arranged place. People here are very friendly and Courteous. They are go all out to make our food experience memorable. Very Nice experience having food here. Place is worth visiting.
One of my favorite north indian non vegetarian restaurant in kochi. It's located heart of the city. (Off MG road, very close to Woodlands Hotel, woodlands junction) very good ambience and hygienic. All staffs are very helpful and Experienced. Well maintained property. Food quality and taste is very good. Vegetarian dishes also excellent. They not using too much synthetic materials. Overall excellent experience. All the best for team tandoor.
Its one of the finest places in Kochi to have tandoor items. Started back In 70's the restaurant is to good to have good. Very good service and good quantity of dishes served. It's pretty good to have food over here. Fairly priced.
Very delicious food. Good serving. Their attitude towards us is very good. Good traveling facility to reach there. Restaurant have very good facilities.
Tasty North Indian food. Their specialities are Butter Naan, butter chicken, kadai chicken, crispy fried vegetable, manchow soup, dal fry, caramel custard
One of the oldest North Indian restaurants in Kochi. Have been going here since my toddler days. Their tandoori chicken has always been good. I guess it has more nostalgia than taste so my review might be biased as its influenced by nostalgia.
They have a decent Nan. Also, butter chicken is good, so is the Kadai chicken. Prices are still middle class friendly.
Somehow I didn't get that special kadai chicken taste that I had years back from here. Had that taste in mind for so long and was waiting to have it again. But got little depressed. May be next time.
Good & Tasy tandoor items available. Price for food is reasonable. Had butter chicken, mixed noodles, fried rice from here. All tastes good. Staff are also good.
