This restaurant is situated before the Vytilla bridge while going from Palarivattom in the highway. You can get authentic Malabar food from this restaurant. They have enough spades for the dine in and also ample parking spaces The food is delicious. We had biriyani, chicken fry and Faluda which were great together with the Nadan Mutton soup
I’d like to offer a friendly suggestion for improvement. The placement of the fans above the pathway leaves the tables without a cooling breeze, particularly noticeable in the evening heat. Placing the fans closer to the tables would significantly enhance the overall comfort for diners.
Additionally, I tried both the chicken roll and chicken cutlet and observed that the filling was the same, differing only in shape. Adding more variety to the snack offerings would add a delightful twist to the menu. I believe these adjustments could elevate the dining experience at Thakkaram even further.
The newly opened thakkaaram is serving some good non veg fare. Mainly the Indian and thallassery items in the menu is recommended. There is plenty of parking available also the menu is elaborate. Very nice dining experience for families. The kannur cocktail is really yummy.
We hand tried some different verity food and we all love it, they have good service staff as well beautiful ambiance inside. Rooftop also they have seat available to feel the fresh air.
We went to Sura mukk (earlier known as kutti thakkaram) and not the actual restaurant. Here we used to get a lot more options before but it seems like they have reduced it. Not sure if they are available inside in the actual restaurant. The space has also been reduced to accommodate parking. We drank a passion fruit kulukki which was nice with a salty and spicy taste. Then we only had mint lime which was normal like we get in any place.
Firstly I would say that I won’t go there again for sure. Yesterday me and my friends went and tried the below items
1. Special chicken (full chicken) - High masala and color as I still have reddish color in my hand. 2. Veg Curry - Absolute disaster 3. Dal Curry - Average 4. Bread items and puttu - All were below average
Awesome place near Vytilla to go for some quick bites which is known for their Kannur based food items. They have variety of dishes including Beef-Pazhampori, Neyypathal & beef mix which are really mouthwatering. The are open till 3 am. They have a large parking space.
It's not a Kerala style biryani. It's totally Arabian style may be. Lot of rice and in top of that the chicken piece which you buy. Like grilled or alfam all those, so a nadan biryani if you expect please don't visit this place. No achar available. No curd given with the plate, you need to ask. Staff behavior is good. Did not like the taste at all, that's why 3star
Good place for fooding, excellent quality Chicken mandhi rice (unlimited) which cost total about 300 + 6 rs tax (for 2 people). (It can compete with those best KuzhiMandhis available in Town). Cards payment accepted here. Well maintained interior and Food serving was quite good and they follow good dress code. Ample Parking lot available. Variety of foods available here.
Do check it once with your family. It's good place to hangout with both friends and family.
A very nice place for the night riders and food lovers. Kutti Thakkaram is open till early morning serving many variety dishes like Neypathal, Puttu, Kappa along with chicken and beef dishes. There is also a juice bar named Kulp, serving trendy Kulukki sarbath, Avil milk, Chirandi Ice, shakes etc.
If i can i dont want to put even 1 star for this restaurant.i mean the one opposite to gold souk.totally disappointed.i orderd a veg curry.can't say wat i got.but i will say older thakkaram was good.but the renewated one is just waste.
Though we didn't have the Mandi, we had pretty standard stuff like chicken curry, appam and parotta. We didn't like the taste at all, found the curry too salty.
Bad experience when I visited. They say they start from 4pm, but when I visited today at 4: 30 they did not have most of the things ready and had to change items. Coming to the taste of food, it was too bad to mention. It was like anything but worst. I will never ever think of this restaurant again.
So my review is purely based on a comparison between Aliyas Mandhi back in Kozhikode and this and I have got to say Aliyas wins hands down. Price wise, this is cheaper but the quantity of the rice is also less and doesn't fill me up (I eat a lot) whereas Aliyas hits the spot. Also the chicken and the rice is more flavourful at Aliyas than here and also the speed of service! Overall, I have got to say that for 20 bucks more (and a 350-400 buck trip to Kozhikode and also add a 16 round to and fro Bus station), you can have a better Mandhi!
This palace use to be be one of my favorite places three years ago. I loved it. Used to visit there every week. After long time I was back to Kochi and felt trying some chicken dish and chappati. The customer service was worst I have ever experience.just two another family in the entire restaurant still took them ages to give me some water. The food was disgusting and Soo spicy. I could count like 10 chillies on my Curry gravy. They literally gave me just four pieces of chicken ribs. Like 80 % of bones which I can't eat. And chappati was okay. No meat left in there just bones just four pieces of bones. I was in a hurry for work so I didn't made any comments. Really bad experience so I have decided to never go to this palace any more. So no no recommend to this palace.
It was difficult to find seats even at 3.30 pm for lunch. Such is the popularity of Thakkaram, arguably one of the best restaurants in Kerala. Everything we ordered was delicious. Natholi fish fry, fish curry, chicken biriyani, ayakkura fish fry, porotta, ilaneer payasam. Service was super quick and courteous.
For those who love authentic malabar cuisine or thalassery dishes, do give this a try. Near to vytilla, the hotel offers valid parking space as well. Try mutton biriyani with the combination of lime tea. You can thank me later.
There are a variety of cuisines available there, not just malabari food. Even though they are famous for their non veg variants they have good variety of veg dishes also
Been there many times. Always serving the best. Only space and crowd is a problem. But the taste compensates it. They have variety super dishes which are succulent and mouthwatering. The Kashmiri chicken and the beef tawa fry are very tasty. Appam is soo soft and fluffy.
If you are looking for a change from usual hotel food, this is a good choice. A bit costly but you can enjoy authentic cuisine. Went there for tea and snacks too but those were not that great. Still check it out. It's worth it
5 star for arabikkadal biriyani, never had anything else here. How ever it happened twice that i came here for arabikkadal biriyani and they told me that its already over. A bit crowded and at times service is also very slow. But its true that this arabikkadal/seafood biriyani is awesome.
