Nice food! I am from Tamil Nadu. I want to try traditional Kerala food, so I chose this hotel. It's really awesome. Biryani, fish curry, meals, Pothi Sooru, Kari Meen – everything is delicious. The cost is also reasonable.
Terrible taste and service. Overpriced. A normal hotel meal has better taste and verities of curries. Very disappointed.never have biriyani. They have no idea how to make it.
Very affordable price, the combo is very attractive. Good ambience and hygienic. QSR model. Staff are friendly. Suggest the service staff don't help the kitchen. He is seen multi tasking. 29-08-23 The Onam parcel was packed hygienic and enough quantity. @525 worth the money.
"The Thali Restaurant in Kottayam is indeed a neat and decent place for lunch. What particularly impressed me was their commitment to serving traditional Kerala cuisine. The flavors and authenticity of the dishes truly make it a standout place for those seeking an authentic culinary experience. The ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant also contributed to a pleasant dining atmosphere.
While my overall experience was quite delightful, there might be a slight improvement in service speed during peak hours, which could make it an even more satisfying dining experience. However, this minor concern aside, Thali Restaurant remains a top choice for anyone looking to enjoy a traditional Kerala lunch. I would certainly recommend it to fellow food enthusiasts. "
Masala dosa is among the best. Both chicken dosa and beef dosa are commendable. Lime juice lacks flavor, and the tomato soup was not up to par. The service was satisfactory, though slightly on the expensive side.
The place hasn't changed much, except for where needed, since we've been visiting. The atmosphere is cozy, food delicious, service fast and friendly, all reasonably priced in a prime location in the busy city of Kottayam, with it's own free private parking! You just can't ask for more than that. Staple items to order here are the dosas of course, but, as the name suggests, you will never go wrong ordering a traditional Thali meal. Check them out, you will not be disappointed, guaranteed.
Food was tasty. Cost written on the menu is slightly on the higher side. But they give discounts to all customers. Quiet simple place with ample parking space at the back. The service was also great.
It's a good place to go with family as they are open and food is good. You can also preorder food by calling them. Ambient parking place which is of great relief. The service is great. Lot of options to choose from. Vegans can also come as there are lot of veg options. They do catering too I think. We also had a great time with the seafood.
Good service. Ordered porotta with beef curry and karimeen fry. Beef curry tasted like kadala curry, but wasn't bad. Karimeen fry was a bit too crispy, the crispiness kind of the dominated the actual taste.
My favourite place since my childhood. Thali had been around ever since I could remember. It's our family time place. Thali's masala dosa with coffee is one of best in Kottayam. If you wish to try varieties, try chicken dosa, beef dosa among the other varieties they serve. They are all really delicious.
They serve unlimited rice and hit your plate with it when you are not looking (Careful). One of the oldest joints I am told. Their veg thali is perfect. The taste of Kerala is there.
Good and great food, i love your "pothichor" its a traditional type of parceling kerala meals with chutnies and curries in a banana leaf and the leaf is halfily burnt.
It's like a premium restaurant in kottayam. You will find people coming from far just to eat breakfast on sundays.or any other meal. Best part is food is affordable and worth the price, in taste, quality and quantity wise also. The ambiance is what makes it attractive.
Nice place. Tasty food. Limited choice of North Indian food. Very strict with timings for closing etc. Decent people. I don't think it opens on Sunday. Limited parking space but then one can park on the road outside.
One among the Garenteed food choice in Kottayam. They serve good food but the choices are limited. Parking might be a problem during busy hours. The ambience in the restaurant is also average but it is always neat and clean. The staff is not that friendly.
Amazing food. The space is a little less but the Thali meals trip every negative aspect. Service is average. Try the fish varieties especially the small fish. Value for money and tasty. Parking is a little cramped. Rest rooms are cleanish.
Very good food. Enough options in menu. Special and unique items also available. Lunch (pothichoru n pothi biriyani) is quite famous of its menu. Delicious and extravagant.
Good tasty food. One of the oldest hotel in Kottayam. Good crowd of people. Horlicks tastes really good. Masala dosa and Puri masala is yum. Tea and bornvita is not that great
It is the Best Restaurant for Kerala fish-curry Meals in kottayam, so tasty, Some reviews mentioned about high price. The price is bit high but according to the location in the centre of Kottayam town, and the tasty thali meals, i think it is worth for the money. Highly recommend, try the fish curry meals with any fish fry.
I had my family and we ordered masala dosaa and poori bhaji and I would not say that it was the best but it was very nice and tasty. Here I want to highlight about the cleanliness that this restaurant maintained is way above the call of duty.
Average.for non vegetarian food and the price is very expensive.we bought two chicken biriyanii.it's priced 175 for one biriyani.see the quality of biriyani was very bad.you will get same biriyani.at worth of 125.from other local hotels. The staff performance and the way they treating to customer I don't feel good.
Non A/c Restaurant.
Good Parking place. Good layout. Easy to spot as it is near a prime landmark (Manorama). The menu card is frayed - why they cannot give attention to this, beats me because it is the first to create the impression after the ambience. Tried the traditional non-veg food. Promised traditional Chicken Curry was not up to expectations. But the mutton fry was the one of the best I have tasted. Not very expensive too! Good for a lunch / dinner.
I went there in the morning, had paper roast masala dosa, the waiter told me not to order it as it was huge and I will be not able to finish it, alas but I never listened to him and I ordered it and it was so huge and full of masala inside that I could not finish it, but the waiter was kind and polite to me and he offered to parcel it.will visit during lunch to give full review
