The specialty of this hotel is their "porotta and chicken fry". Nothing else found as to be mentioned. Should have kept the hotel more cleaner, the Service boys do not understand a word in Malayalam or English.

Very bad service especially the staff. They r like goons. Food is good. If staff is not good. What to say. Staff must be understanding and humble. Not at all comfortable with new technologies. Like digital payment. Don't hv patience if the person is going to to withdraw cash from the near by atm. They will manhandle him or his friend like a thief. Please don't visit

One of the oldest hotels in Ettumanoor, known for its significant fragrance of fried chicken which spreads all over the town area. The place has been renovated lately, the food quality and services are good. The view from the first floor is worth mentioning.

Thara restaurant is located in central junction of ettumanoor. Here we can buy good quality food at a normal range of price. As a funny thing that we can find the hotel by the smell of the chicken frying.the smell leads us to the hotel. The hotel has 2 floors and we can enjoy the food at night times also. Good at serving. Bengalis was nice paavam pillers

One of our all time favorite since childhood. I started to eat during my school days. Later while going to KE college, thara was a hub for us in most of the evenings. The parotta and chicken fry is the key highlight. Those who traveling through ettumanoor definetly will notice this restaurant because of the smell. It's really triggering. Now parking also available nearby to shop. A class restaurant which we having food past 20 years plus.
My Friends in kottayam also addicted to their food. Highly recommended.

I have visited thata more than ten times.always for there chicken fry.the people who pass through ettumanoor gets the smell of their chicken fry.the taste remains same for decades.the chicjen is so juicy inside and crispy outside.i love their chicken fry.best in kottayam.

Its a restaurant placed in central junction of Ettumanoor town. This restaurant normally have good non vegetarian dishes. The main attraction of this place is its good taste in chicken fry with kerala poratta served with a fine odour of the masala present. Average the dish costs about 120 rupees per person. This place is very visible from the main toads passing.even the smell aattracts passengers travelling in the bus.

The chicken fry available at this place is second to none. And the Parotta is really good too. If ambience and creature comforts are what you are after look elsewhere. Place is a little cramped and not very nicely kept. Food is inexpensive.

This place has the best Poricha kozhi (chicken fry) in India, it comes with pori and to be had along with kerala porotta

It's was good actually! The porotta was average adikatha porotta anne but that chicken fry is the star. Yente mwone aaa chicken fry podi ondelo uff verum poliya definitely try with chilled Pepsi heaven ️

Yummy porotta and chicken fry! The aroma of the food is great! Takeaway service is good. Price of the items are affordable. The cashier and staff are friendly. This place used to be crowded, yet parcels will not take more than 5-10 minutes. A must visit place for non-vegetarians. Perhaps they can improve upon the hygiene of the place. Though closeby to Main road, parking can be difficult.

This restaurant has been there for a very long time. The last I recall, I have had food from there in 2010. The very fact that they are afloat after 10 years itself speak as an advertisement to then. Try chapathi and chicken fry. Enjoy your day.

Biriyany should improve, there are 2 chicken pieces but thats it, not much flavour in the pieces.

The hotel is nearest to the private bus stand. Its a small hotel open upto 11pm. Kappabiriyani is also nice. The hotel is situated in left side of the road when we goes to kottayam. All food are available in there.

Ettumanoor is a very good place the ettumanooraopan temple is famous in kerala.

Had Chappathi and chicken fry. Total bill amount was ₹130, of which ₹110 was for Chicken fry. Got 2 pieces. To be honest i will never say those 2 pieces is worth ₹110. Just normal. In my opinion it is better to eat a barbecue at the nearby restaurant with 2 Roman Roti for Rs. 1 50.that is worth the price, Enjoying a good ambience and air-conditioned rooms without any noise and all nearly soundproof.

Here the Ambience is very bad so much noise from the town And dust!

This hotel is here for more than 20 years I think and the last time I visited this place was around one year ago,
at the time food was very tasty

this time it was just a normal food.

And also don’t order chicken biryani they will serve you the sweet chicken biryani with kissmiss and all, which is not all spicy and tasty.

Nothing can match the chicken fry and porotta here. Not sure whether it is from the aginomotto (MSG) on the chicken or not, the taste lingers.

That Smell is enough to make you mad for it. If someone knows Ettumanoor he would definitely know Thara restaurant too. Customer since my childhood.
