I recently dined at Tharavaad Family Restaurant, and I must say, it offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience. One standout feature of this restaurant is their special rooms for different groups of customers, which adds a touch of privacy and intimacy to your meal.
During my visit, I ordered a variety of dishes, including meals, chemeen roast, and Kappa. The Kappa, in particular, was a delightful surprise. It was prepared to perfection, with a wonderful blend of spices, and it truly satisfied my taste buds.
However, I found the chemeen roast to be a bit lacking in value for the price. While the flavors were decent, I expected a bit more considering the cost. It might not be the best choice if you're looking for a budget-friendly seafood option.
The meals, on the other hand, were outstanding. They were well-balanced, flavorful, and served with a variety of side dishes that added depth to the meal.good parking area, which is always a plus.

You can get better food from any shop in Kumarakom which is nothing fancy.

Very poor service and response. Atmosphere is good. Food taste ok only. If ur a vegetarian don't go. There's no vegetarian food available. And dining table and room not cleaned. Bad smell. Try some other restaurant that's it.

A good reliable food spot for all visiting Kumarakom. This is a Kallushaap (Toddy Shop) so all the dishes will be on the hot and spicy side. Duck curry was decent with naadan tharavu. Beef fry was extremely spicy but still tasty. Kappa (Tapioca) was really soft and tasty. Fish was also pretty good. Appam was soft. Meals had really good veg accompaniments such as Avial, Thoran and Achar. The podimeen (Anchovies) was deep fried but tasted really good. Karimeen (Pearl spot) and Kakka (clam) was well prepared too. But what really stole the show and my taste buds was the awesome pork roast! Those who tried the toddy said it was on the sweeter side (we had visited for lunch).

There are around two cottages with Air conditioning each of which can seat around 15 people. Other cottages are not air conditioned and there are around 3 or 4 of those. There is ample space for parking. Toilets were not that good. Wash basins are there in each cottage.

There were 6 of us, and all this costed around 1.7k and our tummies were full.

Tharav curry & appa was the best andhi kallu was also good kozuva was deeply fried felt very crispy over all it's good chicken was also good

Pathetic experience. None of the foods including Appam or Parotta is hot (Not even warm). The chicken curry was served cold, and the chicken seems to be old and freeze. Karimeen was popular and easily available in this location, but they are costing more here. Overall very bad experience for us. Foods are getting served in disposable plates and having a chance to look at kitchen made us really feel bad to have food here.

I did not like this restaurant they are busy so we need to wait for more to. The food over there is not much taste. Their service is too bad also. There is a good parking area.

Restaurant to avoid you have the choice between 6 dishes it is present in a disgusting way it is expensive for the country and it is disgusting it looks like a restaurant whose people serve to eat barnyard animals

The place needs maintenance and hygiene. The food was delicious service very local.

Bad behaviour from staff. The family room is not recommendable. It have a foul smell. Toddy was ok but food is very bad.

Its a good family toddy shop in kumarakam. Lots of families visiting here with kids too. Ac rooms are also available. I am not recommending varal fry.

A family friendly Toddy shop. If you want less spicy dish, inform them in advance and ask for its choices. You can ask for separate cottage for family. Have rush on week ends. Near to Kumarakom bird sanctuary. Have minimal car parking space too.

Typical restaurant for keralites. Not suitable for anyone else from other states. This place serves alcohol.
