I really liked the beef biryani here. Good taste and good quantity. But the rice was bad. The beef was even worse. There was a lot of ghee and waste in the beef. Fresh lime very bad. Car parking is very difficult here. The staff members were very well behaved. But the cashier was not very well behaved. It would have been better if we had returned the cash as we were giving it and happily handed it to him. Here the balance is given by throwing. Like take it if you want.
All i am talking about is the food and nothing else. If you don't want to mess with rush. Takeaway is the best option. You will find the best biriyani in town. Ghee rice -beef roast is my second favourite.
Been there many times and even though I collect myself to order other items from their menu, I always end up ordering their porotta and beef roast which is amazingly good. The caramelized onions add that sweetness to the not so spicy beef roast. Hv had their chicken biriyani as well which is good. More than anything else the porotta is crispy flaky and makes u say one more.
One of the oldest hotel in Aluva.tried their poratta and mutton rost, beef rost.beef rost is okey for me.but mutton rost is above my expectations. This place is maintained well.
One of the oldest restaurant in kerala following the authentic recipie. Famous for there Biriyani, porota and beef fry. Friendly staff. This is a place you must go.
They had the legacy of beef items, but now the biriyani does not taste the same especially the rice beef pieces are good and tasty Try for the beef fry and other items rather than biriyani
Very poor experience I bought a puffs today, it taste like chlorine taste in it. 6 puffs were been brought I dnt know wht happened to the old grand hotel it was really sad.especially on these good Ramadan days
Neee to Savour a proper Malabari Biryani this goes the option. Serving with their heritage and legacy as the backbone. One of the best Mutton & Chicken Biryani in Ernakulam District. Hotel is Situated in Aluva. Parking is a big no. Ambience and hygeine well kept. Give a try for the sumpty Biryani. Keep Eating
One of the oldest restaurants in Aluva. Very famous for their biriyani, Chicken, beef and mutton dishes. Had tried their chicken Biriyani while on the way back from Tony's eye hospital. The biriyani was perfectly prepared, well balanced flavour, the meat was cooked and masala flavor to the right amount. Had also tried their breakfast once. The restaurant is well maintained, the ambience of the building gives you the feel and a picture of their goodwill and hereditary in this field.
My friends and people near from there suggest me this hotel with good coments, but I don't get a good Biriyani.we both not like the chicken and beef Biriyani.both are very bad at 3pm
MuuAaahhh. The best food in town! Always served the best quality of food, the same tast for several years.the specialities include Special Beef Puffs, Banana roast, Banana fry and Samoosa. For elders or youngers, with or without family, it's a usual hangout for Aluvaites for every single occasions. Foodies like me will never forget the Porota + Beef Roast combination and the Biriyani verities!
The biriyani is quite average, the hospitality is okay, hygiene isn't quite that good, the hotel is produced in front of us in it's old form that is they tried to bring the golden time by preservation. Rates for biriyani are high from 130 and more. But a good food we are all are ready to pay more. And it's advanced for trying it
Good chicken and beef biriyani.they still maintained that heritage look.since 1905.the old wooden ceiling looks awesome.no parking space for cars. I strongly recommend it for a nostalgic experience.
Chicken Biriyani Rs. 125. Average taste. No credit or debit card acceptable facilities. Only cash and Paytm transactions. Only recommend if you near that hotel.
An encient, most probably the oldest hotel in Aluva. I am 60 yrs now may father's father who was stationed at N. Parur used to come to Aluva for bathe and reside in the river Periyar in summer time, resides in this hotel. At that time this hotel was known as Ammu's hotel and was very famous for it's traditional food. Nowadays also this hotels Morton roast and aappam are very tasty.
Since 1905 I was planning around 4 years to try this biryani but the taste was different, tried their beef and chicken. Both are different masala, as a malabari it’s ok taste for me.but it’s worth it.
Food: Delicious Ambience: Average Cost.: Resonable Service.: Excellent Parking: Not Available A/C Dining: Not Available
A hotel with 100 years legacy. Very rush in peak time. Taste is excellent. Quality of the food is average. Cleanliness also average. Rate above normal rates than other comparable hotels.
Highly recommended place for having Non-veg foods in Aluva. Its an old hotel started 100+ years back. Hotel seems to be small from entrance but it has large space inside. They don't have vast variety foods but each are every foods in their menu are delicious and the best that can get in Aluva. Finding space for car parking is bit difficult.
Beef beef beef, Thats what this place is all about. The mutton roast is exceptional. I have never had such a great beef fry from any restaurant like that in Grand.
When you're anywhere around Aluva, don't go anywhere else other than Grand hotel. Buy a plate of Biriyani & relax. It's the best one available in the area.
Excellent biryani rice beef not that good. Chicken biryani is the famous food out there. I suggest you all to try chicken biryani rather than beef. You will get full and half portion of those in a reasonable rate. A nostalgic old fashion ambience is another highlight out there.
