The Green Dale Homestay

Beautiful rustic home stay. Impeccably clean and well maintained. Humble and affectionate hosts. They provide homely hygienic home cooked meals. Host took us through the plantations and also arranged a safe Jeep for Safari.

We were here for two days in mid August, 2023. The place is clean and the surroundings are very calm and quiet. The food is here homemade and tasty. The dal and sambar are just too good. The behaviour of owner is also very good and friendly.

We had a really nice experience with Greendale homestay! It is purely in the nature and Kuttapan shows his Plantage which is super awesome! So real, so authentic and 100% love! Him and his wife are totally guest friendly and doing really everything what is possible. We would definitely recommend to have a stop here, we will come again!

The best place to stay in Munnar! This house is very clean and surrounded by nature! You can use also the kitchen of the family, they will welcome you with open heart! I felt like home, they took care of me and my friends and Mr Kuttappan even shared with us his morning meditations and chanting! His wife cooked for us with much love! It’s a great place to stay. It was the best experience staying there. Location is very beautiful and close to nature. This place is very well maintained. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the Owner (Uncle). All family members were extremely friendly and they treated us as their family too. Home cooked food was yummy. We loved the ambience. Kuttapan Sir even arranged private campfire in evening near the river at the middle of nature. I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely want to come back to this place again. Thank you Uncle for being a nice host.

Very neat and clean rooms with affordable price.the area is near kunchi thanny. The owner and his wife are very helpful & loveable. Good for family with kids.

This has been really a memorable stay for me and my wife. This was our first time to Munnar but we didnt felt like outsiders for a moment during our 3 day stay. Such was the hospitality by Kuttappan sir and his wife, as we were like their family. Kuttappan sir is very knowledgeable and an excellent host. He went out of his way to attend our needs during the trip including picking us up, dropping us off, arranging us a two wheeler for our sight seeing purposes. Sir also guided us with sight seeing iterinary for all 3 days. Sujatha mam (Kuttappan sir's better half) has been sweetest of hosts as well with her kind soul. Her warmth towards us (especially my wife:) made us felt like at home. Though she was tired from all the daily chores and arranging timely food, she never put off her smile. She has served us the Kerala delicacies (veg and non veg both) during our time of stay. They were really tasty and to crave for more. We even had dinners together with fun chit chats. Don't miss the Sujatha's lemon tea:). Overall the stay has been worth remembering for.

This is a nice place near to Anachal. We had a good experience with the place, felt very close to nature. Especially in the morning times we had a walk to the river near by the stay.where we can spend sometime in peace enjoying the nature.
Kuttappan sir very cooperative in exploring the place and very friendly. Food at home stay was really good. You can get kerala specials home made.
We had a pleasant work from home experience here.

If you're planning to visit Munnar, I don't think there is a much better homestay than The Green Dale. The place is at a stunning location, 12-15 km away from Munnar. The host Kuttappan Sir and his wife Sujata Ma'am are such wonderful hosts and treat you like their own family. You get the best South Indian cuisines prepared by Sujata Ma'am herself and it is the most delicious South Indian food I have ever tasted. During our stay for four days, Kuttappan Sir arranged everything from our sightseeing to taxi. He is an excellent host as well as an equally excellent guide. Again, I would love to visit Idukki, more specifically The Green Dale. So if you ever get the chance to visit Munnar in your life, do consider The Green Dale as your homestay, it would definitely be a wonderful experience.

Amazing experience staying at this place. The host- Mr. Kuttappan is very helpful. He really went out of the way and arranged authentic malayali food. One thing that needs mention- His wife, Sujatha, cooks amazingly well! He helped us schedule all of our visits to all tourist points too. The house is very neat & clean. We had 2 toddlers with us, so cleanliness was top priority. Definitely recommend it to visitors, who have less knowledge of the area but want to enjoy the vacation to the fullest. Adding a pic, that is the younger one with the host!

The place is run by a lovely elderly couple. Kutappan sir provided excellent hospitality during our stay in The Green Dale. On our request, he arranged for a very good cab driver/guide, aunty prepared very tasy local food as per our taste and liking. I'd recommend ask them to cook whatever local food they recommend and you won't be disappointed. He even grows his own spices and vegetables for guests (we visited his farm with him on our last day as well).

Though the place is not in isolated location, it's surrounded by greenery. As part of parcel with nature, expect to see some bugs which come from outside if you don't turn off light and leave window open.

Overall a great experience. They gave us company when we wanted to chat and didn't bother us when we wanted to enjoy time among us. Definetly would go back again:)

Beautiful house and lovely family. Mr. Kuttappan and his family have taken care of our family as their own relatives and made our stay comfortable.
Mrs Sujata cooked delicious food using spices grown in their own land.
The location is great and peaceful and not very far from town also you can visit river in the valley it's beautiful.
After lot of enquiry about various resorts, i feel like i took right decision staying here, we had amazing time.

I along with my family recently went to a holiday in Munnar, and we were hosted by the incredible people at The Green Dale homestay at Chithirapuram, Munnar. The homestay is surrounded by the abundance of nature is tucked away in a peaceful location, away from the noise and crowd of Munnar town.

We stayed there for 3 days and during that time, the owner of the homestay, Mr Kuttappan and his family went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. He even took us sightseeing to places that normal holidaymakers are unaware of. And most importantly, the food served by his wife, Mrs Sujatha will surely leave you asking for me.

In all, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend The Green Dale homestay to anyone who wants to stay in Munnar and experience it differently.

I couldn't have asked for more. Excellent stay at Green Dale with this beautiful family. Amazing hospitality, clean rooms and great Keralan food cooked by aunty Sujatha. For someone who loves greeneries and streams, I got it all in one location. Best place to choose for a relaxing and chilled out vacation! Feels safe as well. Amazing homestay. The hosts are really good and cool people. Very friendly, they make you feel at home.

Food is excellent and it's as good as you make at home. Munnar town is just 4 kms away from here.

The service was very bad. Room is not cleaned.staffs are not that much customer friendly.i am not satisfied with the stay on green dale.

Very bad place.roads are very pathetic, the homestay is about 20 km away from munnar town. Narrow roads. No privacy and I feel unsafe.

The WORST home stay ever. Worst behaviour and service of the staffs. The staffs are well trained to disturb you then and now. The food they serve you is not at all edible. Un-hygenic rooms and bathrooms.

The condition of the rooms were very bad. Bed sheets, linens were dirty.
Toilet was horrible. Ambience was very bad.
Could not stay a single night. Overall a horrible experience for two hours

Very bad experience, their was cockroach and lizards in the room, their was no privacy the man in the homestay comes to the room always and ask for doing massage. Morning at 7 am he will came to room and knocked the door and made disturbance.

Absolutely recommend this place for anyone seeking warm personalized hospitality and awesome Kerala food! Felt pampered and rejuvenated. Rooms were spic and span. The host n hostess are very caring.and knowledgeable. Will visit again.

Firstly, Their hospitality when we reached to their place. That was wonderful. They are very nice and friendly people.

Other, the local food was very good what they prepare for us. We have decided that not to eat outside just because they cooked a very yummy south indian food. And the dinner charges was also reasonable.

& Regarding the place, it was clean when we reached. And they did cleaning on regular basis.
Even they guided us about the good places around Munnar. That was very helpful.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful - their enthusiasm was one of the highlights of the stay. The food was good, and the accommodation spaces clean, but curiously, more than half the doors and windows didn't close properly, pointing to lack of maintenance or warping.

In addition, we were shifted to another hotel in a different location for part of our stay because, apparently, this homestay was booked (despite the booking website confirming this place for the whole stay). That place was not clean, and uncomfortable in general. So 3/5.

We stayed as a small group at Green dale some time back. Excellent service and stay, very tasty food. Rooms were very reasonably priced. The service provided by the owner and family was really good. The location is a little away from the main road.
