The Panoramic Getaway

Lovely room with a great view. We enjoyed the breakfast & the underground restaurant. All staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed here on 17.02.2024 at the panoramic suite.

I'm honestly not sure about all the reviews, but honestly neither the reception nor the front desk service/welcome stood out, nor did the customer service interaction. It was average at best. The front desk at that time had only 1 male staff. I'm not saying the guy at the front desk at 1 pm on 17/02/2024 didn't do his job, he did, he just wasn't engaging or welcoming, he just did the bare minimum.

The issue however is not with the room features as much as it is with the rest of hotel.

1. The hotel doesn't have a proper sauna/steam room, the one they have inside the spa within a massage therapy room is a shower cubicle that has a steam outlet and upon enquiry of where I would sit I was told a stool would be provided, this is understandable but not excusable consideirng I'd have to pay INR 1,200/- for 20-30 minutes as an in house guest. All the 5 star hotels I have stayed at upto this point would offer absolute free use of sauna/steam for their in-house guests. To have to pay INR 1,200/- for a subpar mediocre steam is not just way too expensive, but also ridiculous. To consider the fact that in thrissur in Hyatt Regency, a brand new 5 star hotel, as an outside guest who isn't staying at the hotel has to pay a mere INR 354/- (inclusive of taxes) for a pool day pass that comes with unlimited access to the steam room (not 20-30 minutes, but an actual day pass).

2. I paid INR 25,683/night for the room I stayed in and for which the breakfast provided both in terms of spread and quality is quite poor. For a hotel that claims (or actually is) a 5 star hotel, the breakfast was a real letdown with so many of the dishes taking a while to be refilled.

3. Via room service I ordered food items a few times, first french fries, then veg pakoras, payasam of the day, and finally carrot halwa. All of the items except the french fries were rightly priced and the dishes were all very well made, the french fries however was priced at an eye watering INR 390/portion, again the price is not the issue, it's the quality of the product relative to the price charged, for the price charged you'd expect fresh hand cut fries, but what we got was a portion of frozen packet fries and at a 5 star hotel this is unacceptable.

4. We had breakfast sitting outside by the small play area for kids with swings, seesaw and a lovely little pond. I have included 2 photos here for those interested, it's my first time ever were you see clothes being hanged to dry on the balcony rails of a 5 star hotel including inner wears and this is not just from 1 balcony, but several of the balconies, this definitely isn't befitting to a 5 star hotel.

During the check in process, my wife and son walked around the property, and she asked me why clothes were hanging from every other blacony like in lodges, I shrugged it off as I hadn't seen it then, it was only next day during breakfast she brought it again to my attention.

Overall I'd give a maximum rating of 3.

I'd take off 1 star for the front desk customer service interaction and steam room.

I'd take another star off for the very limited breakfast spread and how slow items were being replenished and the ambience as we sat outside for the breakfast.

Lots of space for improvement, at the same time, great potential for excellening.

Hope this review will be taken into consideration as constructive criticism and amends made if deemed necessary.

I'd surely come back to stay in the pavillion suite which wasn't available for my dates.

Looking at the great reviews we booked this property but we didn't find it to be that impressive.

Pros
1) Great Rooms with all the modern amenities and decent view from the room balcony
2) Breakfast had a decent spread and taste was also up to the mark.
3) Pasta at Dinner was amazing. Though Pizza was more like a homemade pizza and can be avoided.
4) Service at both the restaurants was good

Cons
1) We received the coldest reception ever when we reached the hotel. Nobody guided us to the check in counter. The guy at the reception didn't even greet us with a smile and if felt like we were checking into an OYO property and not a luxury resort. Again probably it was just our experience and but it did set the tone for our whole stay.
2) The property itself is quite small and doesn't have any wow factor. For the price they charge you expect better.
3) The property is situated at a lower elevation than Munnar which makes it a little warmer overall. So if you are looking to experience cool weather, this would probably not be the best choice.

Overall it was a decent stay but not anywhere close to what you would expect from a 5-star property. The warmth and service that you generally expect from the staff of a luxury Resort was lacking and the property itself didn't have much going for it.

Excellent location, good food (Desi aromas) and excellent staff. Rooms have a nice valley view and every room has a balcony with it.

Breakfast buffet is freshly prepared to our taste with a regularly changing menu. Lunch and dinner are also made to order.

Abmiance around the resort is good but could be improved especially the external garden

Swimming pool is good with temperature regulation and lifeguard all the time

A camp fire must be set with live or recorded music withopen bbq facilities

We were there in the 1st week of July and it was the beginning of monsoon, we spent two nights, The hotel offers multi cuisine food and comforting hospitality. Best is their heated pools which give you a different experience in the cold weather. Breath taking view from the room.

The hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of Munnar, living up to its name. The rooms are superb and large, making for a wonderful stay. The food was also good and overall this place offers a perfect stay.

We had initially planned to stay here, but then stayed elsewhere. During our 2 day trip to Munnar, we dropped by this resort for lunch. The place is located a way before the city and has an okay-ish view from its rooms. The Ambience at the restaurant was good and we chose to dine in the alfresco area. The food is slightly expensive, but they don't compromise on the quantity. Overall a good place, but you can find better hotels to stay if you're looking to have a room with a view. Also, this is my review from 2018.

Excellent stay. The heated pools, yummy food, great service, scenic mountains from the balcony, relaxing spa, express check in and check out process.what else we need.trust me just close your eyes and stay there.

Awesome stay. Worth the money. Parking available. Good for couples who loves scenic views. Family pool and adult pool available and both are heated. Adult pool is an infinity pool. Air conditioning provided. Internet is 50mbps speed.

Cons are no restaurants nearby upto 3 kms. Food is tooooooooooooo costly but tastes good. The reason for 'toooooooo' is that tomato rice costs 350rs, Curd rice costs 350rs so think how the tandoori and bbq costs.
Misty surrounding but mist is not reaching hotel so u might miss Misty winds on Ur balcony.

Extremely beautiful experience at this hotel.it's the best hotel in MUNNAR.
Love it.
And the food is incredible.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days stay in the hotel. Our 20 months old had a great time on the swings, slides and activity room. The best part was the family pool, where we all had a lot of fun and relaxation. Everything from the courteous hotel staff, multicusine restaurant service to the spick and span digital rooms, to the spacious balcony with the magnificent view of the hills, we enjoyed each and every bit. I definitely recommend this hotel for family stay.

This is a place to relax laid back. Plush green surroundings.neat place with exquisite rooms.you will come back for more.go for it!

Never in my my life and whole experience  with my bookings with with you respectful establishment, that I have encountered a hotel with really rude and disrespectful way of treating their guest and giving them false information. This hotel should be blacklisted from your website and application.  

I wasn't informed that my booking was canceled from them or Booking.com, and I discussed with the receptionist about their procedures to inform guest about their booking if it will be canceled. The stated that they canceled my booking because the information about my credit card was invalid and they have tried to contact me, they sent an email that I didn't had a chance to look at and they have failed to contact me with my number cause it is invalid. So I gave them my card to cross check if it was the one they have is invalid but they say that they have previous guest complaining that they were charged before arriving to the hotel which the the hotel is in title to do that anyway. And I asked them to call me from their phone infront of me but they couldnt cause my phone number was invalid which is working perfectly and I didn't encounter any problems with. Also they have stated to Booking.com local representative that they have the same rooms available at Booking.com website but I checked it and it wasn't available. Also they didn't even bother to contact Booking.com to inform that they have tried to contact me.

A five star hotel which is trying to hustle me and neither being transparent and cooperative with me. Also I tried to book throw them the other rooms and they just throw at me a 10% discount of booking.com price which any hotel can and more than that.

This hotel should be blacklisted.

I have booked the presidential room and a standard room for two nights

I was there for few hours only (walk in), the views from the top balcony was gorgeous. Clean areas, good staffs. The spa looks awesome, the arrangements, lighting, treatment facilities, staffs everything looks so professional. Keep up the great work, have a very prosperous and successful season. A very good Hospitality. A cozy stay. The warm water pool is an unique feature. And the food taste was too good. The interior was so unique. We had the dinner buffet and Breakfast buffet, that was completely delicious. As a foodie, I don't get satisfied with foods easily. We have wandered to so many places, and this one is the best

Worst food for highest price.
Tea 120 rupees only 1 cup. No extra. French fries were not crispy and was worst.

Family friendly atmosphere. Outside view is adorable.indoor activities are good.kids will love it. Complementary breakfast is so nice.hotel staff are very nice. Room service is so nice. One drawback of this hotel for me is it's too far from Munnar. We have to drive for more than half an hour from hotel to get tourist attractions.

We have not stayed here. Stopped for lunch on the way to our resort. Should mention. Breathtaking views from its restaurant and swimming pool. I can imagine the stay would be an awesome experience. Looking forward to stay whenever possible in future.

Greatttt hotel. The staff are very friendly and hospital. They are all smiling all the time. The best views i have ever seen in my life.

Excellent view from gallery of the room. Cordial staff. Spa is super awesome. 2 swimming pools are there. The roof top swimming pool is the main attraction.

Okay, time for some honest review after a Great stay. A smooth check-in with warm smiles and a welcome drink. The deluxe double room was decently spacious for two people with almost all the necessities, super clean and good view from the balcony. It is a well maintained property with courteous staffs who takes care that every nook and corner is very clean. Every amenity area is attended by the staff who is always ready to help and takes care of our safety as well The Restaurants here served us food of top-notch quality, but a bit pricey (nevermind, if you need some really good food in a hilly area). We loved both the temperature maintained pools (family pool at the ground level and an elevated adult only pool) and the amazing view it offered.

Overall, it was an amazing experience at 'The Panoramic Getaway' with some good people and good food. What more can you ask for when you are on a vacation!

Loved the view from this place. Road to this place also has some tourist attractions, like view point, water falls (2.5km deviation on the way). Zeep safari rentals available from near by shops.

We had a horrible experience of losing cash in this hotel. Indian money as well as foreign currency stolen from my wallet. And when I reported the same to the owner Ms Sona Bennet, she did nothing about it other than saying that she trusts her staff!
Now that I have read the review of so many people having similar experiences, I have only one advice for Ms. Sona, unless she is a part of the racket, she should wake up and smell the coffee. THERE ARE A BUNCH OF THIEVES IN HER HOTEL AND SHE NEEDS TO GET RID OF THEM BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.
