The River Retreat Heritage Ayurvedic Resort

A good place for celebrating a functions with an outdoor functions. We celebrated a marriage eve in out door sections of this place.

Average food. Bad service on 21st Jan 9PM. We were forced to pay for a very bad dish. Ignorant service staff (Vishnu - may be fake name) pretended to be manager to resolve our issue. The positive about the place is we get Liquor at a lawn
Good location. Huge potential for this property to be best in town. Service staff and manager is the curse for this wonderful property.

We stopped by here for lunch. Great location with a view of Bharathappuzha. Food was fine too but nothing out of the world. Overall we had a good time, although the place looked a bit dated.

Most of the time they dont provide out door bar and dining facility.th service here remains very poor the staff behaviour needs to be improved.which overall creates a bad impression abt this property.

Worst service ever. I don't even get a tissue. Don't go there. Waste for time and money

This resort has a good ambience and a peaceful place which is located on the banks of the "bharatha puzha" river. This resort is also used in special occasions like birthday parties, marriage functions etc. The room and food is good. Shornur railway junction is the nearest railway station.

Your local bar server was extremely inapropriate while serving us. Bad experience, change waiters asap

The resort is located in the shore of Bharathappuzha (NILA). The service is good. The early breakfast is so good and pleasant.

It is a good place to spend time with friends and family. The food is awesome and service is also good. The place has got great ambience which makes it apt for taking good photographs.

The riverside open dining area, (lawn) will offer a unique dining experience in RR.

Delicious dishes will never disappoint its customers.
I recommend
"Beef kondattam" for non veg lovers and 'Daal fry ' or Gobi manchurian for Veg.

Very nice place to relax and dine. Beautiful river side (Nila Bharatha puzha locally called). There is a park for kids.

Had a wonderful time. Friendly and welcoming staff. Awesome rooms, and excellent buffet dinner.

The experience was pretty mediocre. Had a bit of a tough time negotiating with the front desk for a balcony room which itself was nothing special compared to the price paid. Food was ok but serious limitation on the choice due to covid budget cuts. There could be better choices of hotels for this particular price range.

I had booked this resort after checking with hotel staff first they told they will not allow outside state visitors I told them that I am traveling for some medical treatment and will be carrying negative rtpcr report issued less then 48 hours of test so staff spoke to GM and agreed as I was getting spl rate compare to hotel rate I asked them can I book online they agreed for it so had planned my travel accordingly. On the day of travel staff had called me to check on my check time as was traveling missed there call but later immediately i called them and informed about check in time and I told about dinner also as I was booked on Ibibo with breakfast & dinner as did not wanted to risk being weekend curfew.

But after an hour or so I get a call from hotel staff that I will not be getting room as there are hotel is there in been declared as containment zone when I asked whether they have got something in writing so staff told to speak with GM. I called GM twice he did not picked up mean time I did checked with other hotel around that area is that they can accomodate the guest from other states or any such update from health department they denied it and they told they can offer room. Later I was able to get in touch with this unprofessional GM. No idea who has made him GM he has head weight he was so rude to me he even told there is police station around resort he will take me there I asked him to give in writing that the zone is under containment or show some proof but he told he can't provide when he told about police I also told him ok we will go to police itself. It was non refundable booking and I had already done the payment to Ibibo and if they agreed to cancel on basis of containment zoon and hotel waiver I was supposed to get refund of that 5000 only after 7 working days or more as I had made hotel arrangements and travel was for a day so did not took cash much. Later with argument with GM he told he can give room if book with him directly I told him clearly that I got room for triple person with breakfast and dinner for 5100 can he provide the same so he replied in sarcastic way as I have less quote for that hotel so I was arrguing with him so he agreed to provide room on same rate but the issue was non refundable booking some how go ibibo gaved the refund as the hotel had denied the room and as said they clearly mentioned it will take 10-14 days for refund and they will try to refund by a week or so. Coz of this I was hard ship given by hotel I was left out of option of no room in weekend lockdown and did not had sufficient cash was supposed to arrange online payment which was again difficult. So had to look out for other cheaper accomodating in some other place.

When Hotel GM only is like that imagin what about other staff so had to avoid this hotel. Be careful before booking this Hotel.

Great Resort to spent time with friends and family. The food, ambiance and the location is really beautiful. A very good Place for a peaceful stays and enjoys the weekend. You can arrange family get together, Wedding reception, Birthday parties etc.

Its a nice place to stay with family. We were comfortable with the room and food. There is a children's park and a swimming pool. There is a good panoramic view of Bharatapuzha and paddy field from here. The staffs are well behaved. Overall, its a family friendly place.

If you are looking just quality of food and not looking for theme like dining on lawn, its waste going here,
Its better going just restaurants like Arabian Grill or A&R Dine nearby.
The quality and taste of food is not different from those restaurants.
And nowadays here they haven't even providing runners on table,
don't know what Star Certification they have now?

A descent place near the very famous Bharatha Puzha. Good ambiance with lots of trees and cottages build on conventional kerala style. Only one small thing is the taste of food which is just average.

Ideally located on the banks of River Nila with plush rooms, bar, restaurant, mini swimming pool, kids play area, calm & cool ambiance with large trees offering shade & tranquility. The food was excellent and reasonably priced.service was prompt and the personnel friendly & professional. Next time, I plan to take my family along as Rail connectivity from Ernakulam to Shornur is excellent (2hrs).

Food is not good. Food is not fresh and it is expensive for the taste and quantity.
But the place is great river view. I recommend to actually come here to chill and not for restaurant

River Retreat is a real treat of hospitality and comfort for the guests. We had our stay here twice for an occasion. Right from the person at the Security to the office management, all are down to earth in their attitude. Their restaurant offers great tasty food. Would like to thank Mr Rijo for helping us out in all possible ways to make our occasion a real celebration. Irrespective of the position, the management offers ample of helping hands. We had a marriage booking of this resort for my brother in law. Location is serene, just beside a river, as it name suggests. Garden, swimming pool are well maintained. Food is good.

Stayed in 606/twin on the 27-28th of Jan 2021. Rooms were nice, but hot water was provided only on the second day, beverages to rooms were brought after 1 hour from order, cleanliness of the room was terrible as there were spider webs hanging down the ceiling.lift/escalator hardly worked, had to take the stairs all the way to 2nd floor.food at the restaurant was min 45 mins late on the first day 27th at lunch time.

Reserved the rooms weeks ago under the name Cherian/Alex.when we arrived to checkin, we had to wait 30 mins as they said the rooms are being done currently.terrible service!

The river retreat by the name is adjacent to a beautiful river flowing nearby and just showcases partially Kerala style designs and patterns. The rooms are elegant, decent no frills and mostly will be preferred by the entertainment industry or western tourist just for their recreatment and other facilities like Ayurveda etc. The lawn by the river is a beautiful place to relax and small parties can be organized. There is a small play area for children. The property as such is not large. The rooms are bit expensive and its strictly no for budget travelers.

Me and my husband visited with our small baby. They have a beautiful view of the river, went there for lunch. You must reserve before, there is not much seating at the restaurant. When we arrived there was a big office team visiting, luckily we had reserved beforehand else we wouldn't be allowed. Also must mention that the staff is very courteous, will definitely visit or stay again.

I'd really fall short of words to describe the experience I had at River Retreat Heritage Ayurvedic Resort. This is far one of the best places to stay at Thrissur. 4 star property with actual 4star services, Amenities and hospitality excellent. Staff is extremely cordial, helpful team, always ready to provide best services. They made us our stay comfortable and luxurious. We want to come again and again.

Visited the resort to attend a wedding reception. A very calm and relaxing outdoors. You see green everywhere. A large old kerala tradition roof tiled classy building ambushed in the green. The wedding hall is immensely spacious with a side facing the river. On the banks of a river, the place is perfect for any outdoor event! The car parking space is pretty decent.

Well furnished & cleanely maintained wash rooms, Spacious & planned guest rooms & beautiful buildings at the bank of Bharatha puzha with a big & large furnished Auditorium & open meeting places.

Outdoor seating area with enough space to give privacy to all diners. Quick service. The food was passable, not great. But overall, a good place to spend time as a couple or with kids

Good food and great ambience. But they'll take so much time to get you the ordered food even if it is just a roti. Everything else is good.

Excellent place to chill out, good rooms and good area for kids to play around. Need to keep an eye on the food bill though.

Nice retreat with good ambiance, lots of space for parking and moving about. OK pool, great location next to river, not crowded too. Place has improved in maintenance too.

Premium resort located at Cheruthuruthi in the bank of Bharathapuzha. A very nice place for function and and holiday celebration. Beauty of nature is the main highlight of this place.

Very good place calm and quiet.

The resort is in the bank of Bharathapuzha (river). I was there for a conference and have a good lawn which is river facing. But the food was no good (may be because of the part the conference. Anyway, I didn't tried at their restaurant. And the rooms are not worth of what we pay for. A thorough maintenance of the room facility is required (for hot water, etc)

Heritage buildings whilst quite good could do with a bit of tlc. We moved rooms to one that was excellent. Food and service was top class. Didn't try the ayurveda or pool out.
