Villa Akasa

I usually don't write reviews but had to share my experience. My expensive watch was stolen at this property that i left on dinner table. This led me to write the review, otherwise i would usually ignore bad hotels. Let me add my wholistic experience - Rooms did look pretty from outside, but we could spot dust corners and spider webs all over the room corners. Property is not close to beach and doesn't have any sea view either. You should look for properties on the other side of this road which is at the hill, facing the sea with stunning view.

If you don't trust me still, book and take a look at their kitchen which is very unhygienic and you won't want to cook in this "home stay".

The place is good with a very kind host. We loved the place and it's very near to the beach. We later found that there are many beach facing properties. There will be limited food options as you have to manage with maggi mostly or there are cafes nearby like Sarva, we liked Sarva specially as the view is really beautiful and the food options are also a bit better. Rooms are good with AC and there will be no much view. It's a calm and silent property which makes your stay peaceful.

I honestly had the worst experience. I read the reviews and I got cheated. The place is overrated. The rooms are very average. The breakfast quantity was nothing. And in that one day she couldn’t provide breakfast a but earlier. The host had kept calling us to pay the final amount even before check out even though we were eventually going to pay it. She kept badgering with calls and texts. She didn’t mention check out timing earlier and when we were late and trying to pack and get ready she turned off the water supply! I mean who even does that?
You won’t have these problems if you visit a proper hotel. Since it’s a home stay and controlled by one person. Very arrogant lady.
I would suggest y’all visit other better places.

Host is completely money minded and not suitable for home stays. Rooms are spacious. Better to book some other place.

Average room, stay, food. Not at all worth it.find better places than this.

Overpriced for the facilities provided. Breakfast quantity is very very poor for the price. Please prefer Elixir cliff near by with good facilities as well the Wonderful view.

The most memorable and unforgettable experience. I could go back here again forever, the stay, the bathroom, the bedding, interiors, the food, adorable dogs, the host, the nature.i cannot say one bad thing about this airbnb. Most recommended and would definitely go back for more nights.

Honestly, this place is made to feel at home. Obsessed with the nature around and the color palette of each room. Each fabric used, every plant and every detailed corner of this place has been worked upon quite sincerely.

Also, I felt at peace throughout my stay.
Cleanliness was on point, too.

The morning breakfast was quite delicious and is done in the open space which gives a great view.

Stayed here for the last 10 days of 2022 and it was definitely one of our best stays overall. Property is tastefully done and very well maintained. Shama aunty and her team is caring and very accommodative to our requests. Most rooms have a verandah outside and we spent most of our time there with our little one when not at the beach. The south cliff beach is also a quick 5 mins walk and you don’t want to miss the sunsets

Very good location on the cliff in the south of Varkala. You have a nice sunset view right across the street, and beach is walking distance.
The rooms are good with AC and they have a nice garden inside.
Nevertheless, thought the service was very basic compared with other places where we stayed and really felt at home, most of the staff doesn't speak English, and it is a bit too expensive

Best shower ever! Stayed in ground floor room with outdoor shower which was totally magical. Was amazing to shower with sun shining down on you and be in natural surroundings. Room itself was great, homely, clean and extremely comfortable bed. Really nice to have breakfast sat in comfy chairs in the garden every morning. Cafe with amazing views of ocean and cliffs just opposite. Easy to get autos to north cliff and other areas of varkala or just walk up and down the nearby beach. Whole stay was epic!

Absolutely a brilliant place to stay and unwind in Varkala. This property is located on the south cliff. It is a 10 min walk to the cleanest beach you will ever find. You can walk from the beach to the north cliff and indulge in the cafe culture.
The stay was super clean and lovely. Me and my cousins had a satisfying kerela breakfast.

I had a great stay here. It was a nice retreat from busy life. The room is isolated and away from other rooms. It was clean and bathroom is amazing. If you like the photo I think you will like the place.

The ambience of this villa is so good. The owner shyama is so kind and I would recommend you to directly contact her through her mobile number before you book through any website. They have two pet dogs and both are so friendly although they bark when you first arrive. The breakfast is so good although the quantity was not matching my appetite. The villa is located within 5 minutes by walking from Azhiyirakkam beach.

Villa Akasa made our trip to Varkala so special and memorable. We loved every little detail about this place The beautiful home garden, the outdoor seating area, the rooms, the open-to-sky bathroom and the breakfast! The host, Shama aunty and Mr. Pramod, their manager, are very warm, humble and welcoming. Mr. Pramod cooks delicious food. We loved the vegeterian breakfast. Absolutely loved meeting their pet dogs Sophie & Yako Truly felt like a home away from home. Cannot wait to visit again with friends and family. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting Varkala.

Probably one of the best stays I am ever going to have. Amazing hosts. Great breakfast. Awesome location. The cliff view of the beach is just 2 minutes away. Definitely gonna visit again.

Villa akasa is a beautiful property tucked in the southern cliff of varkala, run by a beautiful lady.apart from the lovely landscaping, natural decor and quiet serene surroundings, what i loved the most was the hospitability of the people in akasa.special mention of mr.pramod who i suppose manages the property.he is a gem of a person with a beautiful smile and emense knowledge.honestly he is a one stop shop for anything.you ask him the routes, best places, best food, markets etc, absolutely anything and he has the answer.plus he cooks really delicious food.i am a vegetarian so i opted for vegetarian local kerala food and in breakfast and dinner, he never disappointed.his hands does magic in the kitchen.i can go on and on about the ambience, food and people about this place but i would say, go, stay and see it for yourself.its a real beauty at a steal price because the charges also are not too much.

Loved the place. Beautiful decor. Accurately priced. Amazing room. Shama aunty is so sweet. Pramod is an amazing cook. Sophie and Jacob are the cutest dogs. Sophie made our room her home. Was always with us. She felt like family. The property is really beautiful as well. Had a special request sent in which was welcomed with open arms.

I chanced upon this place back in 2018. Ever since then I have gone back every year. Villa Akasa is synonymous to serenity. Open shower, amazing landscape, their home baked bread with pineapple compote for break fast, Sophie and Yako are my favourite things to look forward to during every visit to Varkala. Shama is a wonderful host, She has a wonderful team as well!

Words aren't enough to describe this place, what you see in pictures is just a glimpse of its beauty but you need to live there to understand the charisma of this place. Stay for atleast 2 nights to give justice to the beautiful stay created by Shama. You will many birds in the morning and it's a really serene place with delicious food prepared by Pramod.

Beautiful place, homely, spacious, relaxing, close to a tranquil beach less people. Beautiful rooms, good food?

Tranquil and Serene. Another best place in South Cliff, Varkala. Interior is finely done that it complements the ambiance of the Villa itself. We stayed in 'Soma'. Early morning bath with your body getting exposed to sunlight is the best. Complementary breakfast with tea/coffee in Patio is the best way to start your day. Almost zero traffic, still very much commutable, even without your personal vehicles. Beach along the cliff side should be around 400m. Food tasted good, served good. Thanks to Shama aunty for hosting us & of course Yaako (The pet). We will see u again

The place is very close to Papnasham beach and is quite easy to find.
The villas are extremely beautiful, well maintained and sparkling clean.
Washroom is something I loved the most about this villa. Very unique experience.
The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is just amazing.

Serene and beautiful, those are the two words that come to our minds when we think of Villa Akasa. It’s been a couple of months since we visited this home away from home kind of space and we are yet to get over the experience! The place is as clean as it can get. Everything about the room is worth mentioning, the ambience, the soothing silence, the sparkling clean bedding, floor and bathroom, the little private balcony, everything adds on to make it an amazing experience for the guests. We had aloo paratha for the complimentary breakfast the first morning and it was so delicious we straight away decided it is what we wanted for the next morning too. The staff were very kind and friendly, they were always there just a call away, happy and willing to help us any which ever way possible. But it was Yako, who’d won our hearts right from the moment we stepped in. He honoured us with his presence every morning when the breakfast came in, and spent some quality time sitting alongside us while the dishes were being cleared. We often think and talk about the days we spent there, and know in our heart of hearts that it wasn’t our last time in that special place!

It's like a small Kerala inside the property. Beautiful service and pretty washrooms and garden. Yummy food

A nice and simple getaway from the hustle bustle of life. A peaceful laid-back place with lot of greenery and warm n friendly people.

Tastefully done rooms. We stayed at Soma, the room with private patio and rain forest conceptual bathroom.
A few metres walk from villa to the beach, though the walk to the cliff top is a few kilometers.

We had a great stay. It's pet friendly as well. Wonderful choice for diving into nature and serenity!

An absolutely beautiful property in a stunning setting. Every last detail was thought of and nothing was too much trouble. Shama is a wonderfully kind and welcoming host, and everything was beautifully prepared. Very highly recommended
