Excellent location, lovely ambience, clean and tidy place. 3 mins walk to Periyar National Park, yet amidst crowded locality. Want to specifically mention the staff at the hotel- super polite and most cordial, at any time around the day you will find them greeting you with a smile. Had a great stay.

Room is good, no AC, no lunch and dinner only breakfast (only continental dishes)
No brush or paste in toilet
No welcome drink
No activity rooms
Totaly not worth for above 2000inr

Lovely hotel right opposite the national park with the ticket shop a minute walk away and the entrances to the park less than 5min walk.

Worst experience ever. No proper response, no room service, lizards and ants inside the room, confused staff when ordered food. Except the outer ambience is good, rest all like service, staff and food all are worst. Not even bothered to give extra glasses and water bottle when asked.reckless response on the face saying we won't provide anything.
Not at all suggested if travelling with babies.

Pros: Location. Great location near entrance of Periyar National park.

Cons:
Rooms are hideous! No privacy, as windows don't have proper blinders.only curtains.no AC. During night, rooms are freezing. Curtains ain't super safe. Biggest issue is privacy if you're travelling with female companion. Doesn't feel absolutely safe.

If you have booked it online. Consider them to be inconsiderate of requests many time.

No value for money.

Sehr sympathisches, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Alles sehr sauber, Gute Lage, sehr grosse Zimmer. Ausstattung eher einfach, Frühstück noch etwas ausbaufähig.

We stopped here for some tea and coffee. The bathroom was clean and the plum cake was absolutely delicious. The rooms looked very cute from outside and the place is quite close to the Periyar boating point. Highly recommended for a stay.

Pathetic staff and no room service. Basic amenities like kettle for hot water isn’t available in room. Hotel staff are also rude if you don’t speak the language. There is a bible in every room for no reason

Originally I thought this would be away from town, but it turns out to be on the main road but right out of downtown.

It appears to be a boutique B&B, targeting the eco-tourist.

I saw monkeys crossing the courtyard. That was interesting.

The hot water system took a long time (5+ minutes) to heat up. Wasted about 20 litres of cold water before the water was warm enough to shower.

Staff was very helpful and service oriented. Arranged for a taxi for my trip back to the airport.

A negative experience. Lights from the courtyard shone through the windows without curtains. It's a bit difficult to sleep while the light was illuminating the room. Either curtains or turning off the lights would be great. The coffee was weak and I had to request extra instant powder to get it to taste like coffee. Guess the locals drink tea mostly.

One of the best and beautiful resort in thekkady for a reasonable price. The rooms are spacious and neat. Excellent service and the complimentary breakfast was.

Had a wonderful stay here. Quite and pleasant property. Rooms are also clean and spacious. Just need some more Lights in room.

Amazing rooms, the place had a really good vibe to chill and feel nature, sit and read or talk with friends/family. Service personnel were very helpful. Location was also ideal with a short walk (100m) to the Periyar Information Center (place for booking all activities regarding the Periyar Tiger Reserve) and the bus pick-up point.

Great asthetic looks stone masonry structure with all facilities combined with nature if you have not stay here then it's your unluck.
All staff are very good kind nature and excellent service.
My children knows well about nature with all balcony views and get ideas about designing structure.

Very good stay and loved the rooms and it's ambience. Large rooms with separate sit out areas. Feels like jungle stay. Highlight of this stay is staff behavior, they are the one who makes our stay more special. Loved english breakfast, but many Indians may not like it as it doesn't fit into the breakfast menu.

I had a blissful stay at this resort, which is located right opposite to the bamboo forest in Thekkady. The rooms are very spacious and have an open balcony. The staff are courteous, especially the General Manager Mr Rollin. My special thanks to him for ensuring that my stay was memorable!

I will definitely return to this resort within an year with my family and friends!

The continental breakfast served was great, I truly enjoyed the bread toast with banana jam, with a hot coffee!

I would recommend this property to anyone who plans to visit Thekkady/Kumily!

Good hospitality. English breakfast. Wall of rooms have stone finish which adds to rustic feel. There is also cafe for Tea coffee and cake for evening snacks. Overall a hassle free stay.

Wildernest located in a easy accessible and central location. Staffs are very much professional and kind. Service is excellent and rooms are great. Highly recommend to all sorts of travellers.

Excellent place and well maintained. Room is very clean and very spacious. You have plenty of space inside the room as well in the bathroom. Also there is a good amount of parking space also. Only i need to say is, need of improvement in bed quality.

We stayed there last week. It was a wonderful experience and courteous staffs. They were very helpful and provided us with suggestions about places in and around. The place is close to the town and its walkable. The rooms are cozy.
Few suggestions to improve:
1) Locks weren't proper in our rooms. They were fragile.
2) Dental kits weren't provided. These days its available even with oyo rooms.
3) Since its a releatively colder place, its appreciated if hot water kettles are kept in rooms.
Apart from these, it was a good budgeted stay for families.

One of the nicest stays around Periyar. Really lovely staff, helpful with all the information, directions, transport and very beautiful place to stay at.

The banana jam and peanut butter for breakfast after a trek is highly recommend. Overall a really peaceful stay with very spacious and cozy rooms. Lots of birds to spot early in the morning. Loads of cicadas calling to wake you up in the morning.

Very good atmosphere and they have to change the method of serving the breakfast. They serve bread, muffins and juice.these are not sufficient for

Small compound but excellent ambiance, staffs are amazing and friendly, rooms are really big and the room we stayed had wooden stairs to balcony. They provide english breakfast and snacks but no lunch or dinner facility but nearby there are many popular restaurants. The location is very convenient for Tourists those who are visiting Periyar Boating and other major tourist spots, also all the amenities are in walkable distance. Overall good experience staying here… not too pricey in this locality i felt

Our stay at Wildernest was incredible!
The place is just a short walk from the national park entrance, and all the town's shops and restaurants are easily accessible from it by walk.
Wildernest is lovely. Its stone-brick walls and massive trees add to its cottagecore charm. The fruit trees also attract several birds that you can hear and see in the morning (and monkeys too, but we didn't encounter any during our stay).
The rooms are massive, clean and well-maintained and the staff there are SO friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about where to go and what to do.

Potential downers:
- You'll have to let them know if you want breakfast well in advance though, and it's fairly modest. There's also a small cafe, but you're really better off exploring the town for places to eat (there are several).
- The cicadas get REALLY loud at some points throughout the day and night. They stop after a while though.

Very good ambience, neat and well maintained area. But we spend very less time here. Friendly staffs. Good breakfast. Walkable to periyar national park entrance. Overall Had a great time!

The breakfast was disappointing as the quantity was very less. In the name of English breakfast, food provided mainly bread and croissant both made from maida which is unhealthy. Also there was one small glass of juice and a few pieces of pineapple. It was unfortunate that we booked our stat there. The rooms are large but there is only one fan because of which it was hot for the third person. There was no tea or coffee maker in the room. Overall poor experience for the price paid.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Thekkady.
I would recommend to visit Periyar tiger reserve which is walkable distance from this property and visit Thekkady elephant junction and explore the elephant safari and other activities.
Also, be wise to call the resort/hotel directly for booking and discounts do not book through third party apps.
