My husband and I travelled extensively around India and this was the one place where we felt “at home”. Every single person from the staff was exceptionally nice and we can’t thank them enough for our lovely stay!

The resort was very natural, very friendly staff, food was tasty, very beautiful scenery, free tea and coffee all day long. The hotel had activities too, we enjoyed the tea tasting session, bird watching walks and a hike through the tea, cardamon and coffee plantations.

Overall stay was very good.

This is not your typical resort experience. If you are looking for a luxurious stay with tons of amenities this ain’t it. But if you are looking for the warmest and the nicest staff in the world then this is the place. We had great conversations with the guests and the management while we stayed here. The level of care is unprecedented. The owner even looked at my LinkedIn profile and had interesting remarks to share. The room we had was so soothing and relaxing. All in all this was the highlight of our Kerala stay.

Wonderful property nestled in a wooded area with amazing views of hills and valley. Individual bungalows with colonial heritage. Great rooms with hardwood furniture and tall ceilings and full length glass windows. We stayed in the planters room which had both hill and valley view.
Staff are all friendly and helpful. John the owner was there to welcome guests giving it a personal and family feel. Ancil their in-house naturalist took us on some great walks on their adjoining plantation.
The food was the highlight of the stay with locally sourced produce to create tasty Keralan dishes. The dining was sit down and full service at the table rather than buffet which was welcome. Anup was outstanding in his service.
Really enjoyed the stay. Finding it difficult to fault anything. Had an electric socket that did not work and one wall with slight damp due to wet weather.
Will definitely stay here again.

Windermere Estate was easily one of the most beautiful resorts we’ve stayed at! This estate feels like it is naturally set in there without disturbing the natural space of the estate. It has all the facilities and amenities you’d find in any city resort while being miles away from the hustle bustle of the city. It comes with the goodness of nature, which is everywhere within the estate. Walking through the lovely pathways connecting each part of the estate is quite calming and peaceful in itself. Now I can tell you many reasons to just stay put within the estate throughout your holiday, but if you want to, if you really want to, you can go out for the lovely cardamom plantation tour, tea estate tours, bird watching and what not!
This estate is my absolute favourite, and not just because of how wonderful it is, but also because of the people there! Any staff you’ll meet there, whether from the kitchen, or service or reception, they all emanate a sense of happiness which catches up on you too! These are genuinely happy and warm people, and will go above and beyond to make you as comfortable and happy as they can. It was our absolute pleasure to stay at both the properties of Windermere (Windermere Estate at Munnar and Windermere Riverhouse at Neriamangalam), and we will go back to stay again and again!
P. S.: The food is to die for, they make it fresh everyday, and feels just like homemade food prepared with fresh ingredients and lots of love! You can request for vegetarian, vegan options too! The local dishes from their kitchen are a must try!

Such a beautiful estate to live in. You don't have to go anywhere else, they have everything available at their place from hiking to coffee plantation to view point.
Food is amazing too, fresh produce from their farm. Totally loved the stay. Keep Slaying.

Beautiful estate, stunning views, rooms exceptionally clean and atmosphere of the tea tasting lounge was incredible. Loved the new restaurant menu everyday and the fresh treats that came along our tea was the perfect addition. Highly recommend the complimentary estate Cardamom and coffee walk. It was such a treat for any foodies or coffee lovers.

What a fantastic place! Located near the top of the mountains overlooking the valley the property has incredible views. It’s very serene… the perfect place to relax in a quiet setting.

Located amongst the tea plantations and adjacent to a cardamom plantation the area is so fascinating. You can take advantage of the included walking tour where you learn about the wildlife, vegetation and crops along with the related production processes.

All of the staff are incredibly friendly and always eager to please.

The food is absolutely delicious with multi-course meals that are so delicious.

The rooms are very large and comfortable.

I would highly recommend Windermere Estate when visiting Munnar.

My parents and I stayed a few nights at this exclusive and secluded resort. The surrounding nature was very calming and the rooms were incredible. The views are so breathtaking and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this resort if you’re looking to relax and explore Munnar simultaneously

We were a group of 10 couples, college friends, getting together for a long 4 day holiday. It was a very relaxed and wonderful experience thanks to the very professional and attentive care taken by the staff - courteous and silently attentive. Dr Simon and his ever smiling wife Molly added an extra dimension to the holiday by their extra attention to every minute detail. Check in and check out was smooth, the room was perfectly ‘made’ each day, afresh. Food was very tasty, the activity room was so restful with a great choice of reading material. Treks within and outside the property was challenging and the look out point was a personal favourite. I look forward to returning with my grand kids, sometime soon

The resort was very peaceful, clean and overlooked the valley, which made it very peaceful. Service was really good and staff were very helpful and kind. Chef is excellent and prepared very good tasty meals keeping two kinds of varieties on the menu of veg and non-veg. They were accommodating of additional requests and very kind about it. The evening trek was very nice with Ansel, the guide who was very knowledgeable and respected in the area. Would highly recommend.

Brilliant property, professional service, graceful staff and awesome food. All of this together makes Windermere estate a place that brings you back for more. Rooms/cottages were very nice and beautifully maintained. You get a great feeling being around the property…true tranquility and serene atmosphere. Price is slightly on the hire side as compared to most 5-star properties places in munnar. Other than that …. Superb

Great Place and Great Ambiance! Good Staff and Services with excellent food and eye catching location.

The service is excellent, the atmosphere is great, the amenities are very good too. The rooms aren't particularly well appointed, but they are large (without being too large), clean, charming and very comfortable. The location is decent. Go on one of the nature walks, they're great and the guide is very accommodating. Be prepared for leaches though.

I visited the place and instantly decided to book a room at the place by cancelling my reservation at the other place. The resort is located in between the tea plantations and is an absolute beauty. The rooms are huge and have a very big balcony. I had a room facing the tea plantation, and I loved sitting in the balcony watching clouds move inside the room during the day.

The food was excellent here, with huge portion of each dish. They use some really good spices, a must try is the tea they give (they use their own tea).

The resort also has an excellent swimming pool facing the tea plantation and you can't miss it.

The resort also has a 360 view point, where one can go and enjoy the scenery; a mix of tea plantations, clouds and mountains

One of the best hotel in Munnar surrounded by tea gardens. Cozy rooms with all amenities. Staff is really helpful with smiling face. Food is amazing and you can do evening hiking with naturalist. You will definitely add some knowledge by this walk. Owner of the hotel also stay here and take care of the guests. It's a very unique hotel and different from the others. Don't forget to have cardamom tea at Windermere estate.

I am not sure on where to start. The standouts were the staff, the food and of course the rooms.

We were greeted by our amazing Host John along with their lovely staff. Very interactive and helpful. Its nice to see them be in sync. They have an interactive property walk through their estate on offer as well.

Rooms are well designed and spacious. TV might be felt as missing for few although not for us. Balconies are nice. The scape is well maintained and not overtly done.

Food - Its a sit down based buffet system. Home style food. The lunch and breakfast on all days were amazing.

There is fair amount of space to walk in and around. One thing that stands out is the silence (almost). You mostly hear the birds.

To the most exciting piece in the property - The view point on the rock. A cool 360 degree view. What more do you want.

Network is next to nil. Wifi is spotty at times. So do keep these in mind.

Perfect resort hotel near Munnar. Serounded by the natural western ghat mountains. Beautiful panoramic view and beautiful garden with natural flora. High class hotel with perfect food and other facilities like pool.

We spent an afternoon, on night and one morning at the Windermere Estate a couple of days ago. Family stay. We honestly regretted not having arrived sooner or not being able to stay longer. The staff is really nice, of course, but the estate itself is exactly the experience we were looking for, in the middle of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations.the view from our cottage was fantastic, and the environment looked really worthy of some trekking. It was super green and peaceful, and quite close to Munnar. The food is very good too. The cottage are not 5-star luxury of course, but they are nicely furnished and have all the required amenities (except a TV but we never watch it on vacation so.). We would love to go back sometime.

What a beautiful, calm, rejuvenating space. Loved every minute spent there, stayed there for two nights. They were so kind to upgrade our room and the view was so stunning! The hospitality was kind and everyone had a genuine smile which made our stay more welcomed. Food was great, they have amazing choices for both veg and non vegetarians. The landscaping is done beautifully, the rooms are spacious and super neat!

The best place for a weekend getaway. Clean and neat rooms. Food is so fresh and exceptionally good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Entire property gives u a serene feeling. If u are a nature person, then this is ur place. Would like to visit again

Amazing. Little Paradise on Earth!

The property is extremely beautiful, the warmth of their hospitality from the staff and the owners, Dr. Simon, John and his wife Meenu are beyond words. They treated us closer than family looking into every detail.

My kids had ball of a time of time, with lots of open space to run around.

My favorite space was the library above the dining area.

The room too designed in way that you feel the coziness, to put it short, live king Size- live it large!

What a beautiful place to forget about noisy city life! Deep in the mountains with views to cardamom plantations and tea plantations. The rooms are designed simply and with a touch of the love of nature. Each detail is so meaningful it makes you smile a bit when you see it. Food is fresh and tasty, offering both continental and indian dishes. Service is exceptional. Thank you!

Best palace for couples and Team party. This place has nice ambience along with swimming pool and out door chairs to chit chat. A high point watch tower found here where you see beautiful senerity of munnar moutains. The path leading to this place is awesome. Many cottages available here for stay.

A fantastic experience. The accommodation was a extremely pleasant surprise and staff very efficient and accommodating. The set menu offered a great experience of local cuisine and the coffee and tea served in the afternoon was great. Fantastic nature walk with a very knowledgeable guide in the cardemom fields.all in all a great experience recommend warmly

The excellent resort. The rooms are very good and well maintained. The gardern is maintained very well. You can see different variety of flowers. The atmosphere is very calm. You can realy enjoy the nature. The staff are really good and cooperative. The view from the rock is amazing.

Fantastic, relaxing and very welcoming retreat! We had a fabulous time here last week. It’s a great spot for exploring the tea plantations and also the Surrounding hills. In terms of the retreat, it was fab. The rooms were spacious and well appointed the food fantastic with plenty of opportunity to explore the local cuisine through cooking demos in the evening and the team could not go far enough to help us enjoy our stay! True 5 stars from me! The only watch out is they do not serve alcohol so if you want a bottle of wine in the evening make sure you bring it with you!

It's a perfect getaway.calm, serene and charming abode. Waking up to a beautiful view of the misty mountains, listening to the birds and crickets, delicious food to savour, ever smiling faces to greet you and cosy library stocked with books.what more you would need for an ideal holiday! They have guided plantation walks, bird watching activities. Or if you want to take a stroll, you are free to explore.

An old world lodge close to town, simply breath taking how well the gardens and villas are maintained, definitely worth the high prices

We just returned from a wonderful stay at The Windermere Estate in Munnar. This magical estate has country style cottages set amidst silver oaks and fir trees. It is surrounded by tea estates on almost all sides and it's serene and crisp atmosphere just sets the spirits soaring. The estate has 18 rooms scattered amongst the vast estate and also houses the Planters Bungalow which is the private residence of Dr. Simon and his son John. Their constant presence on the property likens it to a large house rather than a resort. The owners mingle freely with all the gusts and each guest is welcomed personally by John or his father and escorted to the rooms. The rooms are large, airy with large balconies and plenty of light. The facilities are of top quality and can be compared with best resorts in the country. Whether it's the linen or the toiletries or fittings, they are of high quality and no expense spared.

Food is prepared on the resort and there's a daily menu for all meals as ingredients are brought in fresh everyday. So food is freshly cooked and tasty. Breakfast is included in the room rate; other meals are charged. Since the resort is away from the town we had all our meals on the estate as we did not want to do a lot of sightseeing. The resort itself has a lot to offer. Maybe a small choice of Continental food like pasta, or burgers should be included to keep the kids happy.

All-in-all it's simply magical and one must stay at least once at The Windermere.

Our group of seven stayed at this beautiful guesthouse. Our accommodation was spread out over the estate but comfortable and great views of the valley below. The owner of the property welcomed us and other guests with a barbecue which is a novel idea to meet him and other travellers. Dining in was excellent, staff were friendly.

We planned to have lunch there. When we arrived they said our driver could not eat with us - No valid reason given. They have a nice view but the restaurant is indoors which ruins the view. Staff was not very helpful.

We didn't stay here as we had already booked a home stay but we went for high tea and dinner. The dinner commenced with a bbq in the beautifully kept gardens and concluded in the dining room inside the main hotel which is just STUNNING. It's owned by the family who previously owned the surrounding tea plantation and has the old traditional style. It's delightfully comfortable as well as being picturesque. Everywhere is clean and sparkling and all the food is freshly prepared by a team of chefs. The staff is friendly and attentive as is the custom in this part of the world but they just have that certain air of simple luxury at this beautiful hotel. I will be staying next time that's for sure

മൂന്നാറിലെ ചുരുക്കം ചിലർക്കു മാത്രം അറിയാവുന്ന ഒരു റിസോർട്ട് ആണ് ഇത്. സൂര്യോദയം കാണാൻ ഇവിടെ നല്ലൊരു view പോയിന്റ് ഉണ്ട്. ഈ റിസോർട്ട് ണ് ചുറ്റുമായി വളരെയധികം പക്ഷികൾ വസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അതു കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ പക്ഷി നീരീക്ഷണം ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കു വളരെ ഫലപ്രദമാണ് ഈ സ്ഥലം. സൂര്യോദയം സമയത്തു സൂര്യനെ അത്രപെട്ടെന്നു കാണാൻ പറ്റിലെങ്കിലും സൂര്യകിരണങ്ങൾ പർവത നിരകളിൽ വന്നു പതിക്കുന്നത് കാണാൻ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക ഭംഗി ആണ്.
