This place has a good menu with great pricing according to the location. It's a good place for good and tasty food. I would strongly recommend you if you are a non-vegetarian and love eating chicken and meat. Must try Chicken Fry thats is the iconic leg fry they have. You get a piece of potato along which is fried too.its worth the time and every dime you spend. Don't forget the caramel custard at the end its good too.
We go here quite often with the family and the food has always been nice. The interiors have recently been done up by the new management and the place looks a lot nicer than before. This restarant is quite reasonably priced and I would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.
The food is deliciousssss and service is quick too even if there are a lot of customers, rates are reasonable as well, place to wash hands and thr restraunt itself is very clean, everyone should try eating here once
Food was nice, not overpowered with spices. I ordered for mutton korma & roti. One big roti is enough for one person. Korma was fine, I would not call it as best. Decent Taste, value for money.
Then, I saw all others eating Chicken Fry, so I ordered it as well. It was OK as well. The deep inner part of the chicken should have been cooked even properly.
Value for money - Situated in the most iconic part of Mumbai & serving decent food at such price is really unbelievable.
Visited this place on 26/12/21, mainly because of the rave reviews that I read & also saw a video of a popular Mumbai food blogger. Ordered a mutton biryani, beef bhuna & tandoori roti. Unfortunately both the dishes were pathetic to the core. Meats in both dishes had to be searched among loads of fat. Both dishes had no flavour, & contained nothing except onion & tomato gravy base. Very ordinary stuff, possibly available in many roadside eateries anywhere in India. Restaurant hygiene levels were poor overall. Its doing brisk business thats the only thing I can say. One thing worth mentioning was the Tandoori roti, which was better if compared with many good restaurants. I'll be back to check out a few more dishes. But won't wholeheartedly recommend this place. Only history dosent satisfy the taste buds.
- They do not accept any electronic payment options, it's strictly cash only so can be a little bit inconvenient. - You have to share your table with other guests so if you like so if you like your space you are not gonna like it. - We ordered there three dishes butter chicken with roti, biryani and Shammi kabab. Butter chicken was disappointment Biryani was decent and Shami kabab was well cooked but a little on bland side - Singh was very decent world order mentioned above we had to pay 405 rupees
One of the oldest restaurant in mumbai with lots of variety food options. The food is lovely. That's the first place were i had lamp brain? To eat it's called bheja fry
Well for most of the people it may seem weird, but for those who know the taste they will love it well if u ask me I kinda liked it it's tasty it's kinda like boiled egg yoke lol well it's tasty I had bheja fry with rumali rotti it tasted amazing and I loved it ️ the problem that u will face is for parking it's near the most busiest street in India so you won't get much space to park your vehicle
Historic place with great food at great price and great quantity. Remember to take cash with you. I recommend you to try Chicken Shami Kebab and Chicken tandoori.
Food was really tasty, we all love the food. It was very crowded so we prefer to go instead of dine in.value for money, they accept only cash no card no paytm nothing, they should update this rest all good.
Super tasty, delicious chicken, biryani and fluffy roti. I visited this place 10 years ago. But it is still maintaining its century old flavors. My daughter is also become fan of it.
This restaurant is good for having lunch and dinner. But, the problem is they don't have a parking area. It is a crowded place. You have to wait till your next turn. It is without A. C.
I had visited the hotel some 3 yrs ago and loved the food that time. I especially loved the crispy tandoori big size roti which you will not get anywhere else. Then I was very much disappointed when I visited the hotel 1 day ago in the morning when i found only the tandoori roti which they have maintained the quality and was disappointed with the gravy and the chicken roast. I came all the way to relish a good food however was disappointed.
The place is a big disappointment. Had gone to this place last Saturday, the food was pathetic. Waste of time and money. Upon telling the owner while exiting the restaurant that the food was not at all good, he said that on weekends we have too many customers n the food is not good. About service, have never seen such kind of service. The waiter was not ready to wait even for 30 seconds.
This restaurant is the best if you are reading this you might as well order their chicken stew and chilli chicken. Just amazing. Also the tandoori roti too good
One of my favorite place to eat Moghlai food. It's next to Bade miya. You should try dal fry and biryani and their roti is bigger in size. And yes you can eat beef too. This place is very economical and traditional old style. Very good for big family people. They have big tabe
I had butter chicken, rice and naan - one of the best currys I've had in a very long time! A real local experience, very delicious, helpful staff and cheap.
The dining was very enjoyable, with the food being as per expectation & the price being pocket friendly. Awaiting to give a second visit soon to the resturtant for an enjoyable experience once again.
Well its worth for the price which you paid for, quantity is really good only issue was the taste was bit missing as we went in the evening. But still you can try chicken fry plain & masala. (Go for leg piece).
Good food. Old Mumbai style hotel.must try chickens masala. In sweet delicious Custard is there must try it. There only one cons is you must carry cash. Gpay or cards facility is not there. Still best spot for chicken lovers.
I tried the Tandoori roti and Chicken Fry Masala Gravy. It's was super tasty! Must try for sure. Coustomer service is also really good. Only cash payment!
Lovely food! I feel it's Super affordable for what they provide. One Tandoori Roti could serve 2 of us, Chicken Tikka Masala Fry was very well made! Must try in Mumbai.
Retro place to have traditional food with same constant taste. Seating as well as interior are same old but they have not compromise with the taste. Every time you have food it will taste the same. Place is bit in rush rest the service is quick.
Love this place from long time.used to visit it from velocity since 1999 stil do.the aura still the same. Also, the food is still nostalgic.brings me back to the good old memories. Visited this place for goos food
Wow. Quality non-veg food at affordable price. I have tried Butter Chicken and Dabba Ghost. Both were mouth watering delicious, especially Butter Chicken which had a unique flavour to it. The parcel quantity was good enough and one dish can easily serve two people. Taste 10/10, Quantity 10/10. Do try if you visit Colaba Causeway area.
Best hotel for non veg lover, very budget hotel. Interior is not good as compare to area which is behind taj hotel gate way of india. But taste and quality of food is way better than any 5 star food
Probably one of the oldest joints of Mumbai or should I say Bombay! Located exactly behind the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, this joint offers Mughlai cuisine. Limited menu but absolutely delicious food! I have been frequenting this place for over a year now. Fry chicken is the hottest selling item here and is a must have! Their roti is huge and is unlike the ones you get at other restaurants, it is crisp and soft just the right amount to gather the gravy together. Shami kebab is another delicious item you can have. Biryani was okay. Service is quick and you need to share tables just like the older days. Don't go by the ambience if you want tasty mughlai food.
We specially went here to taste chicken biryani. Taste and portion is good. Ambience is like a old irani hotel. Hotel staff is humble and orders are served quickly. Overall it's good for weekend stuff.
Iconic eatery, absolutely basic settings but food is yum.one of the few places in Mumbai to serve large sized tandoori roti.dal ghost, chicken fry masala are must tries
4.5 for Price. 4.0 for Delicious Food (Must Visit) 3.5 for Place, though it's an old Irani style restaurant, but during COVID time precautions & hygiene should be maintained.
Great food at a very reasonable price. Bagdadi is one of the oldest eateries in Colaba and has existed for almost 125 years. It’s quite popular and normally is very crowded and sharing table with other customers are quite common. One should avoid visiting the place late as many of their signature dishes get over pretty early. My recommendations from the menu will be: Chicken Fry: Fried chicken Bagdadi style. Chicken Boti Masala: Boneless pieces of chicken in a flavorful gravy Mutton Roast: Mutton was really soft. Tandoori Roti: This really big, freshly baked, soft and fluffy tandoori roti is the best item in Bagdadi’s menu.
Expected some tasty food.for real food was not worth.didn't liked the food at all.service was bad.waiters wont respond for 15 mins.hustle bustle.very bad experience.
Overrated. Below average food. Staff lack politeness. Looks like people have been rating this restaurant on the basis of low price. For person sitting at the counter, the only care in the world is to collect money.
The food was horribly tasteless. The starter chicken crispy was pathetic. There star dish chicken boti masala was totally pale and lacked basic spices. It was one of the worst experiences i ever had at any restaurant. P. S. Go at your own risk
Amazing food undoubtedly the best chicken /mutton biryani in Bombay (plus point the don't add cardamom or cloves which always ruins a biryani as you may know). The Kashmiri naans are gigantic and perfectly made soft on the inside and crisp on the outside and adequately grilled on the base and other Curry's and fried items are also well cooked the meat is usually always cooked perfectly never have I found rubbery meat or undercooked mutton.paneer dishes have good complimentary flavor and compliments the flavour of the paneer it's perfectly cooked.just lacks in ambience and the washbasin is disgusting.overall a good restaurant
Worst and tasteless hotel in mumbai. Service is totally poor. I never visit there again also i post my feedback on every social sites along with hotel address. If anyone visit this hitel i sure he will not go again in life. Its my words guys.
Damn great place to eat. Their quantity of food is amazing. Being run by muslim people the non veg food is just fantastic. Food is very great and is very cheap. Food 11/10 Quantity 10/10 Quality 8/10 Ambience 8/10 Overall 10/10 I recommend to eat only non veg food cause its the most delicious food you can ever eat.
Ambience: Something Old, historic Food Quality: Average Taste: Average Service: Good Cost: Economic, Average dish Rs. 150 Cleanliness: Poor, floor is dirty. Wash Basin-Dirty & just opposite to seating arrangement. From wash basin you can have partial view of Kitchen. Once you see the kitchen, you will never visit this restaurant
I was there with my food loving friend and we ordered Butter Nan, Beef fry, Chicken Bhuna, Chicken crispy, Shammi Kebab & Custard. The food quality and quantity was amazing. Its very hard to get private seats, we always need to share the table with others as the hotel is very small and full. They have special dishes for each day and its mentioned in there menu, these dishes are more fresh and tasty as they are cooked for a particular day. Once in this hotel they use to give Bagdadi Mirchi for free. This mirchi they use to bring it from Bagdad, it is huge, long and not spicy at all but it is good for digestion. If you are ever there try “Jeera pani” as beverage.
Very very basic place with just tables and benches around. Still one won't find a place to sit quickly. The reason being the food! Lipsmacking good quantity food. Right from chicken to beef. Stay away if are particular about hygiene and less oily food. Veg food available, but just an option for some vegetarian in your group. Non-veg is the thing to order. One roti is gonna be good! Stuff yourself with shami kabab and boti fry. Follow it with dal gosht, chicken Shimla and anything from the list. Complete the treat with caramel custard and give exact home location to the driver.
It's no more like before it used to be. I had ordered chicken fry masala (breast piece) like I always used to do 9 years ago. The chicken turned out to be too hard n chewy like a chewing gum and tasteless. The oil that was fried in seemed to be reused again and again giving it a weird smell n taste. BHagdadi has lost its charm and flavour. I would not recommend anyone to go there any more. Only the oldies like me would be able to tell the difference in before what it was and now what it is. Very disappointing. Wish I had ordered Dal ghee tadka.
The food is amazingly delicious. This restaurant has its own rules. The hotel is little bit old.may be like more than 50years old. Rest the food was delicious.
This restaurant is not much to look at but as they say never judge a book by it's cover. So goes for this restaurant. Amazing food within everyone's budget.
Don't let the ambience of this place deter you from going inside and eating there. I would recommend you to try the beef fry and the caramel custard which are absolutely delicious.
