They have best pastry. The cake is fresh baked, always smell so good and not too sweet. Sometimes it’s crowded but the ambience still cool to chill and have Quality time. Recomended!

Please don’t try their cheesecake.
It’s bland and the base is pretty dry + the cake had no flavour felt like eating biscuit with no flavour…

The taste that Gaylord's served before COVID was way better than what we tasted during our recent two visits.the taste and presentation is substandard.there's no innovation or evolution in dishes and the overall aura of the restaurant.agreed every restaurant will have some age old signature dishes, apart from that there's no variety.no newness for repeat visitation.no doubt the younger lot give a pass to this, 'once a wow' restaurant

Gayloard is not like before. Food is good but not like before and dont try the pastries.you will get raw sugar piece in your mouth. As they are renovating so the atmosphere is not up to mark now.

Its a very great place for every families. This place gave me my first taste of sizzler which was a veggie, boiled vegetables, potatoes, pouched tomatoes, peas, and whatnot accompany it was macaroni though I didn't like it that much but it came good. Suggested food here would be that lamb which ordered which was elegant and tasty.

Gaylords is an iconic cake shop and restaurant. The black forest cake and the pineapple cake is surely the ppls fav but mine is the chocolate eclair.

Eating an eclair can get messy - only becos this is super creamy. These melt in your mouth.

With cookies, cakes, donuts, mini pizzas, breads, pastries, muffins, tarts all around, i love the ambience at Gaylords.

First impressions are crucial, and Gaylord exceeded all expectations. The elegant and welcoming lobby instantly made me feel like a valued guest. The staff's warm smiles and professionalism setting the tone for the rest of my Dine In.

An old, elegant and unpretentious dining place, almost opposite Churchgate Station. Good food - Western menu, some Indian, too - non-veg and veg. Liquor served. Courteous, efficient service. Valet parking. Large, two-level air-conditioned indoor accommodation, and a sit-out that's great for a casual cup of their famous cona coffee and snacks. Attached cake-shop sells variety of breads and yummy confectionery: try their cheese straws and Florida Cake (made to order).

This is a heritage food place. I love the food and ambience. Came after a long time due to the lockdown. We ordered soup, butter chicken and veg kadhai. Food was lip-smacking.

The bakery is also one of the best Mumbai has. Coconut macrons are a must try

Good Ambience (outdoor seating). Have tried their Lemon Tart, Kitkat pastry, Apple pie, Chocolate truffle pastrie, Mushroom trellis, Chicken puff and a pan pizza.
Recommendations: Lemon tart, Chocolate truffle pastry, Chicken puff.

The food was below average compared to cost. The ratings are fake. It doesn't deserve it.
The only thing that is good is their bakery.

We visited Gaylord to have lunch. Ambience is fabulous and you will always feel like you are in a legendary place. Staff were very courteous and friendly and prompt in attending. We ordered Cream of chicken soup and butter garlic roll. Nothing much to talk about these 2 and they were good if not exceptional. I instantly felt like I landed up in just another legendary restaurant which is to be honest overhyped. But things changed very quickly when the following dishes arrived
1. Chicken Steak Virginia - Juciest tender chicken steak with mushroom sauce.
2. Swiss chicken - you will forget KFC. Perfectly fried and the moment you take the first bite you are blown away with a ham and cheese layered inside the chicken.
3. Chicken A'la Kiev - This dish is a culinary art. It is served like a big meat ball but the moment you put the fork inside it oozes out its magic ingredients. A must try of you are visiting Gaylord.

Ordered latte, They cheat by bringing normal coffee. Average taste of other bakery items. Highly overrated.

We always had billing issues with Gaylord. Staff is also very arrogent. Dont know what they think of themselves. Its an ancient hotel hence we visted their but very very poor service.
Person suggestion - always double chk ur bills at Gaylord. They always tend to charge extra.

The ultimate Bakery in Bombay! A wonderful variety and the quality hasn't changed one bit ever since I remember going there. Its been over 15 years now! A must visit place when in town.

Nothing exceptional about this place. Just one of the restaurants out of many others. The location is nice, right on the Marine drive however, the food is pretty blend. Actually had to send back Sizzler to get some taste in the dish. Everything else was also pretty ordinary. Nothing to impress except the location!

When I was 16 years old in 1966 since then I am visiting Gaylord same excellent taste today same as before really I love Gaylord

Ridiculously expensive for below average food. Four slices of toast for 250 rupees. Yep, really. Bottle of water for 150. And their eggs Florentine was made with palak-paneer gravy. Blandest chicken sandwich in the world, served with four French fries. Never again.

Since decades this place was our favorite ever, since our parents took us here mid 70 's. Now our children naturally find nostalgia here. But over past many months have found that not only the staff have been extremely rude but today it scaled new heights. A simple question like when can the stocks be replenished was replied to my daughter with rude reply and in appropriate behavior typical of staff frustrated. I doubt we would ever wish to come here again. Also a Dresher touch to the interiors would make this space look happy. It is in deficit of pleasing eyes.

Overview
Gaylord has been a Mumbai Institution. The restaurant combined cafe has never disappointed. The cafe ofcourse was flawless but the restaurant doesn't lack any charm. I ordered the Chicken Cecilia and the Multi Meat Grilled sizzler.

Chicken Cecilia: -
The sauce was creamy, thick and rich. I didn't find any flaw in the dish. The tickening agent was unnoticeable (mostly refined flour but couldn't noticed due to the amazing mixing together of all elements) which is a feat of perfection. There was also a taste of some herbs, and the sauce made a solid core. The chicken was well cooked and tender and it was cut into stripes. Though in the sauce, it had it's very own taste. There was a layer of cheese on top and it added a good saltiness. There was a little salt overall, but it allowed independent flavours. Overall it was a well brought together dish cooked to perfection.

Mixed Grilled Sizzler: -
Now this is a long list. There were an amazing number of meats. Sausage, meat loaf, lamb, chicken, bacon and egg. The sauce had a umami and citrus. The egg made mild the sauce and its lemony taste. The sausage didn't have that snap to it, the casing was soft and overall it was among the most inferior parts of the dish. The bacon added well with the sauce and gave a hard texture in rather soft dish. It however lacked a thin fat layer. The meat loaf was cut in cubes. It was like any other meatloaf and added good elevation to the dish. The chicken was well cooked with nice flavoured and smartly cut into bits and pieces for the infusion of flavours. The egg was like a French omlette. Soft and fluppy and added a creamy texture. The lamb was well tendered but gray in the middle. If only it were a little medium or medium well, the dish would be elevated to a new level. The veggies had nothing new in them, the weren't good to taste and mild. These reviews are for individual elements but overall, I enjoyed the dish a lot. It was well balance with spice, umami, sweet, citrus etc. The most important part of sizzler or pot rice as such is coming together of the elements and this nailed it. It made me feel that I am eating a dish in total and not all individual elements provided the fact all meats had to be cooked differently due to different cooking times. It was rather than a dish puzzle solved. You solve small bits and pieces and combine them all together to form a beautiful scenery, in this context a dish.

Gaylord was a worth experience and deserve a good review. The packing was a little disappointed (semi-hard alluminium cases) but kept the food hot for a long time.

Loved their lemon tart and chicken crossiant.
Even their mousse is spectacular. However the lemon tart is their go to! Do check it out if you are in the vicinity.

Gaylord has always stood to it's reputation for an amazing ambiance and super good bakery. The range of muffins, pastries, croissants, puff pastry, and so much more! The freshly baked goodies are going to be enough to make your day. The evenings are generally crowded and but you'll get fresh and hot baked stuff out here at that time. My personal favorites were baklava and the chocolate tart!

Visited the confectionery store. While the items are highly priced compared to Bandra, am always amazed at the attitude of the staff, found them careless and rude to some other visitors. The items sold are average and cannot be said to be the best. Bought the hazelnut brownie which was average. The chiken items were good. The hot cross bun was not fresh

It's an Amazing place to be. I absolutely love the cakes and pastries from here. I've been having them since I was a kid. My dad got every birthday cake of mine from here. (PS: we stay in Navi mumbai, so it was kind of a big deal for me).
The place has such a wonderful ambience. The lighting is amazing.

Gajanandji has been here for almost quarter century and his warmth has been the same as it was when I first met him as a kid.

Have been visting the cake shop for nearly two decades. They have a good spread with high quality items at reasonable prices. The cross buns today we're absolutely top of the line.

Gaylord has been popular since many years. It used to be perhaps one of the few options serving very good food in South Mumbai. The old patrons continue to frequent it though many new places have come onto the scene. A visit there will be a bit nostalgic and remind you of the earlier good times. Has a very good bakery section as well

I did the round of the snack corner. The Ginger biscuits are as divine as ever. So are the macaroon cookies, the tea cake was a bit dry, the cheese sticks.perfect

It is a worst place. As I'm the regular flier to mumbai and staying just in front of this i e the Ambassador.
The staff has full of attitude, they don't have the courtesy manners and ethics. Will suggest that is not the place to drink you will order what they will give you? And they will charge something else

The bakery is in a class of it's own, with some desserts to die for. It's mushroom concoctions are legendary, but you are not likely to ever get to have them as they sell out too fast. A favorite haunt of many students, this is a great place to fuel up before going down to Marine drive.

Despite the rush the staff was very polite and helpful.
Service was extremely fast.
Food was delicious and simple.
We had Indian food and we loved it.

Given the location, the prices are reasonable.
Will definitely visit this place again.

The bakery items are good. Completly contrasting and pathetic were there service. My biggest mistake that I planned to celebrate my Christmas with family at this place. I will never repeat this mistake.

Excellent mutton biryani and chicken kebabs. Good portions. Green salad was refreshing too. Would suggest garlic naan on the menu. Would recommend.

A very upscale place. The way the waiter and manager and even the guard outside looked at us, i didn't want to sit down and eat here. But that's totally a personal impression, they allowed us to use the toilet though we had only a dish at the bakery. The bakery is good. The variety! But a bit costly. I don't understand why they park cars on the footpath space outside the hotel, but no one seemed to mind so who am i to complain? Food must be nice, better be nice, at the prices they serve and the brand they have created.

An old world authentic classy restuarant frequented by generations, from grand parents to parents as well as their next generation. Lovely atmosphere. Authentic Indian and Continental food. Frequented by the British and other European tourists too. Apart from the air-conditioned restuarant they also have a charming sit out place where one can have a chilled beer and sandwitches. They also have a wonderful bake shop, next to it selling fresh breads, pastries and wonderful tea cakes & biscuits to buy. A must visit at least once.

Nice location, walking distance from Marine Drive and opposite Churchgate railway station. Old place, lots of nice North India style food both veg and non-veg. Two levels of seating. Price is sightly higher side, but in range with others in that area. Good option for groups. Snack and pastry shop adjoining has plenty of tasty sweets from cookies to pastry to Indian sweets.

Poor service. They value foreigners over Indians. Chicken pieces in makhanwala were not great. Refused to add more. Run in the old fashioned couldn't care less way.

Do not visit this place if your Indian, cause more preference is given to foreigners, went in at 18 30pm to have dinner and some drink and was given a breakfast and snacks menu, while tables that walked in behind me was given dinner and drinks menu because they were foreigners, order for a burger which took around 30 to 40min, while the table that walked in behind me who ordered dinner got their food, had to get my burger packed and left the place very poor service and management.

We had a really good lunch here. Staff are polite and helpful. Although we all ate Indian cuisine I seem to recall European dishes in the menu. Would happily good again.

Been always famous for open cafe kind of concept initially. Thr menu is something which attracted many guests. Love thr continental or can say italian options but yes they r supported v well by Indian stuff.
