The service was good, servers were polite and good.

However the food was not as good as it was in 2023 when i visited in delhi the quality has certainly dropped.

I had been talking about it to many people and thought of visiting when I heard it's in Bombay too

Masala library was known for the fine dining however the ambience was very dull and not as expected. I guess they certainly need to work on ambience and quality of food.

Presentation of food was decent however taste was very average except one or two options.

Very good service, very timely. I especially liked the palate cleansers they offered, I thought it was an interesting touch, as I haven't come across the same in any other place I've been to. And the food was worth it. Very delicious, good quantity. The prawns were very fresh and delicious. And if one ever visits this restaurant, the chicken tikka is a must have, it was Absolutely amazing.

Amazing food, incredible staff and service. This is posh restuarant in BKC but it lives upto all the hype and the need for an advanced reservation. Everything we tried was delicious (we ordered a lot since we were a party of 10). The staff is extremely polite, accomodating and they know their food well!

A fine dining experience in Molecular Gastronomy, worth the visit. An expansive (not too expensive) Chef Tasting menu (5-course meal), loved the choice, service and detail explanation for each course item. Started with the appetizer, Mango pulp in Coconut water, followed by snacks Dahi Bada (Odisha) and Farmer's staple, a Mangalorean bun with coconut butter and garlic cream. Then was served the soup, Mushroom Chai, a unique preparation and amongst the best. Had Multani Paneer Tikka with tandoori pepper salsa, Shrooms (mushroom), Pesto kebab with smoked tomato and Peri peri chicken tikka, Braised lamb chops in moale and kokum glaze for starters, each of these amongst the best. A Mishti Doi Sorbet to cleanse the palate before main course. Main course had modernist malai paneer (a little too spicy to our liking), an unique combination of papd ki sabzi, hand pounded churma, Kamal kakdi, with assorted bread (roti+) and Dal makhani. For non-veg, it was Rajasthan mutton curry with Kachori shell (the best I had ever). This was followed by desserts, a relative disappointment especially the Jalebi caviar in pistachio rabri and saffron foam. Malai chop with wood sorrel was better. Had a good ending with paan flavoured cotton candy

Amazing twist to your regular regional cuisine. Truly a fabulous fine dine experience. It is indeed on the higher side in terms of expenses but then this is not a place you go to fill your stomach this is where you go to experience culinary excellence.

Overpriced and overhyped. The ambience is just average and apart from the presentation of the food there’s nothing much adding to your well-paid experience. Had one of the worst lamb dishes with an overly sweet sauce which a sad pass for your main course.

Massive restaurants are considered a benchmark in the world of culinary excellence and I was so excited to be back to the place I had visited years ago- Masala Library.

The décor and the ambiance of the place are excellent. They had lots of necessary controls in place for covid which made the dining experience safer. The staff had their faces and hands covered at all times and maintained a safe distance. The tables were also placed slightly apart than usual, the plates and cutlery were covered under cloches and they ensured that all safety protocols were being followed. We were being served by Mr. Jatin for the day and he ensured the most prompt and courteous service ever. Full marks to their hospitality for sure. We tried the set menu for dinner in non vegetarian. This was priced at 2700 per person plus taxes. Tried the following dishes:

1) Pea Pearl Puchka: we started off with the amuse bouché which was a spherical Mango and coconut medley. It was a burst of freshness in your mouth to start off the meal. This was followed by a super crisp puri stuffed with lots of chutneys, potato and pearl sized mint chutney balls. The flavour profile was spot on and it was a brilliant start to the meal.

2) Jhal muri cookie: the jhal muri cookie was unique in that they'd made the base or the cookie out of roasted puffed rice which was then covered with another couple of chutneys - sweet and sour.

3) farmers staple: this was a really soft puri which was served with some white butter and was super delicious.

4) Dahi bada: the dahi bada was roasted instead of fried and served with some sweetened curd foam and specks of masala.

5) mushroom chai: this was the highlight of the evening and a standout favourite. They'd served it as tea where the truffle oil was dehydrated and served as sugar, there were bits of mushroom served as the tea leaves and a beautiful concoction of a bunch of mushrooms served as the tea. This all together rather beautifully, the earthiness of both the mushroom and the truffle complimenting one another brilliantly and the warmth of the dish quite tantalizing.

6) Braised lamp chop: the chop was super tender and was a sweet and spicy one glazed with honey maple and light spices.

7) Peri Peri chicken tikka: the chicken chunks were tender and delicious, the sauce was creamy and spicy.

8) malai caviar prawn: this was a standout main course. The prawn was cooked to perfection, the sauce was a pink peppercorn one and hence, very lightly spiced.

9) tandoori thecha salmon with Mango murabba jhol: i was quite impressed with the combination of the two - the salmon was very deliciously marinated with a spicy thecha and had a tangy Mango pulp to cut the spice.

10) Thakkali Thokku chicken with idiyappam: the chicken was tender and the gravy was a south Indian style tempered with lots of mustard seeds and curry leaves. The idiyappam was a great combination, it was almost like eating an Indian version of spaghetti bolognese.

11) Telangana Pepper Lamb: this was another dish to die for! The lamb was super soft and had a whole lot of spices and a very distinctive malabari flavour. The appam served along with it was to definitely die for.

12) Dal makhani and roti basket: the dal makhani was creamy and a great one and the rotis were super soft and melt in the mouth. Just a brilliant combination.

13) Malai chop and wood sorrel: another really cool one, they served a whipped cream sort of dessert with lots of candied dry fruits which tasted like crunch in the midst of a pillow of cream. Really cool textural play.

14) Mango halwa and almond chikki: the Mango halwa was super sweet and the base was of a thin and crisp chikki, just superb.

15) Jalebi Caviar: Easily my dish of the day! The jalebi was toned down in sweetness so that the rabri could compliment it. Loved the burst of textures with every mouthful. This is a dish everyone must try.

We also tried a couple of mocktails like the Pan Mojito, the Masala punch and the garden of 5 senses. My favourite was definitely the garden of 5 senses.

Masala Library had been on my to-go list for a long time and managed to book a reservation at the BKC location without any hassle for Christmas eve. The staff followed all COVID protocols of sanitizing the tables, wearing face shields. We opted for the vegetarian tasting menu. This was a fantastic decision for us since we are not heavy eaters and managed to sample all the amazing dishes. The presentation of nearly all the dishes were stellar. In terms of taste, the notable favorites were the Patodi Modak, Mushroom soup, Shepu Dabeli and the Jalebi Caviar.

I would highly recommend to check out the tasting menu if you find yourself at Masala Library. Will definitely plan to come here soon.

Visited on 27 Dec. This was the 2nd time I visited ML in 2 years and could definitely notice a decline in quality. We opted as usual for the non-veg tasting menu. Most the dishes lacked the imagination and wow factor that we usually expect from ML. Had to even leave 2-3 courses after taking a bite. Lobster was a bit over cooked. Prawns latte didn’t seem fresh and smelled of the sea. The boiled chicken with broth and black rice was a disaster and so was their attempt at Goan Bibinca.

Simply too time consuming. More like a gimmick of sorts. Not sure how the world loves this place so much. Spending 4 hours for dinner getting served portions which my 3 year old also finds insufficient is not my idea of fine dining. May be I don't understand what other people are so crazy about. But what I would say is not value for money for sure. I would rather go to other places.

The set menu might look interesting but only go for it if you want to spend a good half of your day waiting for portions that can be literally measured in tea spoons.

If you want to have the worst dining experience, please come to this restaurante, otherwise, don’t lose your time. The flavor of the dishes was unbalanced and tasteless. The quality of the food was really poor, the langoustine was overcooked, the sea bass was not sea bass at all and none of the dishes looked fresh. We asked for the wine pairing at the beginning of the dinner and they started serving the wines when we had almost finished the snacks. Also, the food was coming so quickly that we didn’t have time to finish the wines or enjoy each dish separately. Finally, the service was the worst part of the “experience”, they were rude, didn’t take time to explain the dishes and seemed to be alienated with their job. When they brought the bill we were so disappointed that we asked the to take out the service charge and it looked like they were expecting it. Overall, one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.

Masala Library is a place that will redefine your expectations from a fine dine joint. The presentation of the food is good that you will not touch it before taking a pic, I took a pic of everything that was placed in front of me. They have a ala carte menu but we went for the chefs tasting menu which is a 19 course meal.
Took along two guests from Australia and they were blown away and comparison was made with tasting menu presented by Heston and Ramsay in London.
Masala Library needs to be experienced at least once in your lifetime. I plan to make it a quarterly affair.

So the Ambeince is Decent. Fine Dine Place with Large Seating Area and Candle Light On Table to Have Some Beautiful Time. Interior is Classy and Service is Good as Well.

Food,
So The Food We Tried It was a 19 Course Meal Of Chef Tasting Menu Which Will Cost Rs. 2500 for Veg and Rs 2700 Approx for Non Veg.

Starters:

Started off With Palate Cleanser.
Amuse Bouchee:
PresenteD in Fake Eggs was This Unique Cleanser, Mango Pulp in Coconut Water. It almost Looked like Yolk in Egg.

1) Deconstructed Samosa:
Crispy Strip topped with Some Mashed Potato, Green Peas Below it had Corainder Chutney and some Red Ketchup. Tasted Truly Delicious Flavours Perfectly Matched Like Normal Samosa.

2) Nadir Churma:
Favourite In Starter. Served on Rock Stone It was Some What Tangy Nadir I.e. Lotus Stem. Blend of Walnut and Raddish Gave Good Taste Topped with Walnut.

3) Mushroom Chai:
Sounds Interesting Right! Heard it Right, Served in Chai Cup it had Various Small Mushrooms In Mushroom Broth. Each Sip will Make u Fall for It.

4) Tomato Rasam Soup:
Thick Tomato Soup In Cup. Refreshing Tangy Some What Spicy This Soup was Perfect. Had Some Touch Of South Indian Flavours. Do Try This.

5) Halwa Puri Puff:
Sounds like Our Normal Halwa Puri. Small Puri Puff which was Stuffed with Potato, Served with Suji Halwa Topped on It. Delicious Taste of Sweet Halwa and The Stuffings in Puri Just Amazing.

6) Kokum Fizz Seeds Chakhna:
Kokum Juice Which was Some what Tangy with Those Chia seeds. One bite Of Seed with that Drink is Perfect to Have.

Also Tried Some Other Starters,
Litti Choka, Yam Kebab and Chesse Poppers.

Mains We Tried,
Dal Dhokdi:
Gujju Dal Dhokdi. Just Had Those Flavours Sweet Spicy with Stuffed Dhokdi. Toppe with Crushed Peanuts.

Malwani Curry with Bengali Jhalmuri:
Specifically a Authentic Malwani Curry which had Patty Topped with Those Jhalmuri. Delicious Some Sweet Some Tangy All Flavours had Perfection in It.

Desserts:
1) Bibinca: Was Great in Taste. Small Multilayered Cake Topped with Pistachios. Delicious And must Have.

2) Jalebi Caviar:
Thick Rabdi Tasted Very Well Which had Jalebi Caviar Dipped in It and Saffron Foam. Too Sweet to Handle. Dessert Lover Go for It.

3) Floating Chocolate:
Innovative Physic Behind This One. Chocolate Floats on Magnetic Layer Due To Nitrogen Effect. Looks Great.

Childhood Memories Got Back By Having Candy Floss. It was Pan Flavoured Candy Loss Which Ended Our Meal Perfectly Mesmerising.

So Overall One Should Definately Visit Masala library To Have Some Great Experience and World of Molecular Gastronomy. Cheers.

This restaurant is one of the expensive ones in bkc with luxury dining. This restaurant is located in First International Financial Centre bkc Mumbai.

This restaurant has amazing ambience with nice and colourful lights and comfortable seatings with attractive bar.

This restaurant has an amazing variety in their menu right from starters to deserts everything was nice. I had tried a lot of dishes which recommended by the chef and were very tasty.
Starters and mains:
1) wild mushroom chal:
Truffle oil crumbs infused in dehydrated mushrooms.

2) Naga pork:
Stewed black beans and bamboo shoots amazing taste.

3) Tawa tiger prawns:
Nice crispy prawns well cooked and amazing taste.

4) Bralsed lamb chops:
Very unique taste infused with maple and Kokum glaze.

5) Gaulati Kebab:
Nice soft and juicy mutton just melted in the mouth amazing taste.

6) mala panner:
Same as panner Burji but amazing taste.

7) red wine:
This was the best wine I had ever.

8) Deconstructed Samosa:
Crispy strip topped with mashed potato green piece below it had coriander chuttny.

9) Kokum Fizz Seeds Chakhna:
Tangy taste with some Kokum seeds amazing dish very refreshing.

Deserts:
1) Floating chocolate:
This the best I had come for this desert only very unique two 80%coco ball with amazing presentation nicely explained by the waiters.

2) Jalebi Caviar:
Thick rabdi tasted very well which had jalebi caviar dipped in it.

I visited with entire family. We ordered for tasting menu. There were 16 surprises served in 16 different dishes selected specially. We initially thaught it is very small portion served. But after finishing 16 th dish, we were really full and entirely satisfied.
The overall experience is like playing A nice golf game, enjoying hole (Preparation) after hole one by one.

I personally loved this place although some of my friends didn't. The ambience is not fantastic. It's more like any crowded restaurant, nothing special, hence one star less. But the reason I loved it is the degustation experience. It's a multi course menu with sampling of many of their Signature dishes. Vegetarian and non vegetarian can both equally enjoy the experience and it's got a little bit of everything. The way in which the food is served and the aroma was pleasing. For something like an 18 course meal the price is not too bad.

If you are seeking something unconventional, go to this fusion food place. Not only does it offer a good variety on its menu, but also offers the best dishes in town. The food is very different from a standard fine dine but still amazing. The presentation of the dishes, courteous staff, refreshments for your taste buds and the food definitely will create a memorable experience. This is a must-go place!

Shimmering style and a vibrant vibe!

Located at Bandra Kurla complex is this Master piece created by Jiggs Kalra. A Restaurant which cannot be considered any less than a super fine dine in class. With wine shelves at the entrance and all the super white linens and a perfect set up of the glimmering cutlery ready to get you served some delicious food is enough to get you awed in the first look.

One can expect nothing but perfection from the service end. The service staff is alert and always a micro second away to get your attention from your call. Apart from the service being quick the service staff is courteous, humble and thorough with the food and beverage menu.

A perfect beginning to the most amazing ending was this food experience. The immaculately balanced flavor of the Rasam served with Basa dumplings was the first step in the flavor haven. Then what followed surely made to our recommendation list ; Naga pork flavored with Naga spices, Tawa keema with a slice of pickled bitter gourd was a true delight. The Mishti doi lolly a palate cleanser was one the best things we tried at masala library. The Tandoori chicken San maranzo Makhani was the best Makhani gravy till date we have ever tried. One cannot end a meal without some dessert and we had two the Jalebi Caviar served with the Supremely creamy and thick Rabdi to cut down the sweetness of the Jalebi creating a superfluous balance. And for Chai lovers we would recommend their Masala Chai ice cream.

On the beverages front one should not miss out on their Spiced up a whiskey based cocktail flavored with spices and their signature drink the masala library Margarita which is not served in a Margarita glass but in a whiskey glass for mystical reasons.

The evening was scheduled to start at 9.30 but due to heavy unexpected traffic we reached the restaurant at 11.17pm. Before arriving a lady on the telephone confirmed that the last order will still be taken and that we should not worry.
On being sceptical, I called back to confirm with the restaurant this time 7min before my ETA and O was told by Kartik on the telephone that it won’t be possible to accommodate us even if we are 3 min after 11.15.
On reaching and ordering Kartik took our order, and while ordering I asked him for the marrow piece in the mutton to which he said it’s not available without checking. Later that’s exactly what showed up in the dish.
After bringing the starters within 2 min of arrival we asked to keep one of starters in the chef boat to keep it warm. To which Kartik again said that we don’t have Salamanders in the kitchen. Later Kartiks associate described another dish stating hay it is kept fresh in a Salamander.
What I don’t get is don’t deceive customer then accommodate them reluctantly and then try to put all the food on the table and try to rush the entire experience. Absolutely horrid service and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone considering the étiqueté of the staff.
Not to my surprise Kartik was spotted rushing out of the restaurant before any of the other staff. If going home was such a priority for a server then he should not be on the floor and should ask for leave rather then spoil someone’s evening.
Expect a lot more from a Jiggs Kalra restaurant considering the pricing.
This type of service not only degraded the brand equity of the restaurant but prohibits customers from actually enjoying he food served.

We ordered the tasting menu and it was a gourmet experience. The ambience was great. The portion sizes were small but perfect for tasting and the timing between courses was to perfection. They could be better at serving beverages. And of course, their washrooms need to be completely redone. For an expensive place, the washrooms are terrible. Entry and exit to the restaurant entrance by car is also an issue. The overall experience could be enhanced by thinking not just about the food but also everything else surrounding it.

We Ordered Brunt curry leaf martini, Masala library punch, Red berry shrub and Peach sunrise in Mocktails, We had Dahi Bada, Charcoal Bhajjiya, deconstruction of Samosa, Pesto kebab, along with makan Malai and candy floss in desserts

This Place servers food in small quantity, with a great taste, includes in it, I personally like Masala Library punch in Mocktails, Deconstruction Of Samosa Was Also Good, Pesto kebab was excellent and in desserts candy floss was the best, overall experience was fab, due to minor minor small mistakes, point 5 points are decrease, since nobody is perfect

My first visit to one of the most renowned and finest restaurants of Jiggs Kalra. This place truly provides an excellent fine dine experience. Serving unique and twisted styles, our normal indian cuisine is taken altogether to another level, not only by twisting flavours but also providing a bang on presentation of every dish. Masala library only invites guests with prior reservations. Walk-ins are not entertained here. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, providing detailed explaination of every dish served, service is always on time, didn’t find any flaws to their hospitality. Ambience is calm and peaceful with slow music played.
