We had nothing short of a fantastic experience during my husband’s recent admission to SL Raheja Hospital, Mahim, Mumbai. From the word go at reception, to diagnosis of the problem, admission and treatment at the hospital, it was only pure service graciously given and ethically administered. Worst hospital in Mumbai.
Have admitted my dad for bronchitis in which he had low oxygen level and high carbon dioxide level but he did not receive proper care. First of all they charged heavily and they charged for test not even done. On last day of discharge they suggested to do endoscopy for stomach and delayed the discharge for 2 more days unnecessarily. Also the patient dont get any care from the nurses and RMO doctors, they are pathetic and dont even know how to take blood samples as my dad's hands were swollen because of frequent blood samples. The hospital is very unhygienic and the patients dont get proper care and my dad was admitted for 10 long days and they dint even bother to bathe my dad. The RMO doctors are worst than nurses there as they are freshers and dont have any practical knowledge and were unable to address even a single query for any problem. The nurses are not prompt and even after calling for help, they come atleast after an hour. They do not give medicines properly and each time I had to remind for acidity medicine which has to be taken before food. The food also comes very late.
Only the main doctor under whom we got admitted was good apart from that it was a horrible experience. Will NOT RECOMMEND anyone to get admitted there.

My father was admitted here multiple times, and we have found this hospital to be very good for his treatment.

The food here has also helped my father in his treatment and his recovery. The catering service specially Mr Bhagwan, understood his food requirements very well. Mr Bhagwan should also be given credit for my fathers recovery as his service and food understanding helped him a lot.

I would like to Mention the admission service desk handled by Ms. Swapna has also been very prompt and helpful. She is quick and goes out of her way to help the patient and their relatives to get through the process smoothly.

I got admitted to this hospital in March. To be honest I had never heard of this hospital until I got there. It can be rated as one of the best hospitals in Mumbai with excellent staff and doctors. To start with the security person at the entrance was very welcoming. Also, the staff, nurses, cleaners, and the pantry people were very nice and professional, courteous, and always greeting patients with smiles. They know their job!

Every department I had been to ICU, X-ray, Isolation zone were all good. The equipment was well maintained, and they have the latest ones. I must emphasize that this hospital needs a 10/10 on cleanliness as this was something I never expected and really appreciated. I was in the general ward which was very clean. Even the restrooms in this ward was nice and clean. Although the food was very good at the start but soon after they changed the contract it got ok. The receptionist Karishma was very kind and helpful to me and my husband. Even our check out went off very smooth with no hassles.

On 28th of February 2022 we reached to this hospital to admit my wife for a surgery to SL Raheja Fortis Mahim Mumbai. We were received by Amrita with a very warm welcome and assisted by Karishma to reach our room on holding area of 10th floor. Then Amrita deployed Corocena to complete our insurance claim related formalities with TPA department. The whole process was fully smooth assisted by the hospital staff in a polite and decent manner.

The day resident medical officer deployed at holdjng area is a very perfect gente person who satisfied all our queries and taken good care of patient. The food provided to patient and attendant was extremely good. The nursing staff of the holding area on 10th floor is very efficient good behaved and very prompt.

Once again we met Mrs. Amrita Kumar, a very talented, smiling, helping and caring Officer, she made the admission process very easy, calm and speedy. 24X7 staff as usual ready to make everything comfortable for Patient and Attendants, specially I mention few names Komal, Karishma and Corosena. I would like to applaud the services provided to us at SL Raheja once again. My Better Half Anita Jain Lunavat was admitted once again on 14th March for an Oral Onco Surgery under Dr. Ashok Mehta Sir (One of the most experienced Onco Surgeon), Surgery was done on 15th and post surgery she was in the ICU for two days, where she was given the utmost care by the staff. The doctor who did briefing counselling in ICU to the attendants (my self and my younger was) was elaborate about the progress and keen to answer any questions we had. When we shifted to a room, on 8th floor Nurses Sonali and Damyanti attended to us as per their schedule and on requirement. They were extremely supportive throughout the process.after a day she was shifted to 7th floor here Dr. Farheen, RMO, Sister Rujula who is incharge of the nursing care, They are a bunch of exceptionally professional staff who helped us beyond words. I got my Tonsillectomy done in December 2021 by Dr. Neepa. I had a very good experience in the hospital although it was my first surgery I was very nervous but the floor staff/nurses were extremely co-operative and were available whenever needed, every doctor in every shift was very good too. My OT experience was the best and BIG thanks to Dr. Neepa Vellimuttam (ENT Surgeon) and Dr Meghna Nadkarni (anesthesiologist) who helped me a lot to calm myself down and it was very seamless experience. The only thing I was not happy was the TPA process. Food was good but it can be better. But as far as Doctors are concerned I had a great experience

Doctors are excellent but food provided to me when I was admitted was very bad. I had complained too but there was no response. I had literally fired the food supervisor on providing bad food. How can a patient get well if they are served lousy food. Imagine 2 big cups of boiled brinjal with watery dal and uneatable chapatis. How could my wife travel 33 kms away and cook food to come to hospital as per the catering staff. Why do they charge money per room that includes lunch/dinner/snacks?

Mediocre category twin sharing rooms, but very good nurses, RMOs, always around visiting patient. Very humane, considerate, empathetic security staff. But the discharge and billing department sucks. For 10am discharge for patient, papers and bills were prepared at 4pm. Another negative point is that the staff do not wear masks till they are asked

Some of the doctors have very poor interpersonal skills and they don't have any process in place, service more or less similar to how most of the general hospitals operate.

I am Dr prabhakar Devanpalli was admitted in your hospital on 2nd june and got discharged on 5th june. Everything went on very smoothly ground staff, ward boys, etc was very warm and friendly with the patients.
I want to share few more things that i went thru those days i was symptomatic since 28th may and i was constantly in touch with Dr yatin Gadgil whom i know since years.after talking to him on the phone i was so relieved and at peace coz my treatment was started immediately after taking proper history on the phone. Believe me i have troubled him so many times in a day and everytime he treated me cordially and today i completed full one month from my first day of symptom.
I Just want to say that he is an asset to the hospital and his patients.

Bad experience at S L Raheja Hospital, Mahim West, Mumbai. Walk in to improve your health and pour out Wealth on Wrong Exuberant billing of a dreadful disease. Caution to all getting treated at this hospital to thoroughly check your billing item-wise and approach the counter for clarification on every charge on your bill
My Sister suffered a heart attack on 9th Mar ’20 and had to be admitted to S L Raheja, Mahim (West), Mumbai. The angiography and Angioplastry was done on 11th Mar ’20. All required test and consents were completed on the test and procedures to be done pre-procedure. Here the hospital to earn some extra money gives us a fake charge of Rs. 8351/- on a test named Hepatitis B Virus Evaluation (HB Core Total &Igm, KBsAbsAg ( (O) (a very dreadful disease) Normally all test are conducted pre-operation and if a patient suffered from such a dreadful disease, the doctor would never had touched or come close or operated a patient suffering from this disease which is so contagious. On demanding the reports and the prescription from the doctor, we get to know this was not performed. We were even charged Doctor’s visiting charges to ICU when in reality the doctor never visited the patient. This is ridiculous! When pointed out to the top management of the hospital and also the CEO for all the neglections, they say it’s A MISS” Even the washrooms of the hospital are dirty and messy. When informed they apologies it’s A MISS. The Patient got discharged from the hospital with the Intravenous (IV) cannula on her hand. We had to take my sister to a near-by hospital to take the Intravenous Cannula off. When we brought this up with the hospital the next day. The Medical Superintendent and CEO says; it’s a MISS and care will be taken in future. Every thing pointed out is a MISS. On scrutiny of every item on the bill, the amount reduced by Rs. 20000/-. Is this a small amount?

Worst staff and even worse management. It takes 7 hours to just discharge. The only good thing about this hospital are the doctors. The staff is pathetic. They are clueless and practically we have to sit on their head.

Patients have to stand for minimum 2 hours outside financial counselling room. There are 4 rooms.out of them only 1 is operational most of the time. Today 2 rooms are manned but by inexperienced staff. I have been standing outside for 2 and a half hours. There are no chairs to sit outside counselling room and no queue management system.

Not a great hospital if you care about your health

Consulted Dr. Arun Bal for diabetic foot. He is a very experienced and nice doctor. He patiently answered our questions.

It was easy to get an OPD appointment at Raheja hospital. The staff is very helpful and keep a caring attitude towards the patients. There is also a financial consultancy desk, where you can get an estimate about your hospital expenses, in case you need to get admitted.

The canteen is located on the ground floor in the right wing. Food is a little expensive for the quality and taste.

Worst hospital ever, Extremely unprofessional and careless people. Uneducated staff and nurses, The doctors are a complete book worm who were just experimenting on my little twin nephews.we have lost our babies. Doctors are not that skilled to handle a preterm baby. If you keep nagging them then they will proceed with the procedures. You literally have to beg to them to get anything done. Worst Worst Worst hospital ever. All they need is money. Understaffed to a great extent hence patients are ignored.

I have been to SL Raheja when it was not taken over by Fortis. The services and the quality of the hospital has degraded to an extent of a cancer patient finding cockroach in his food. There is no coordination and no professional amongst the staff. It has become local. Would not recommend this.

I had opted for a health check up at this hospital through my employer and had sought an early morning appointment at 8am. My appointment was confirmed and I reached the hospital at 8 am. However the staff informed me that the health check up department opens only at 9am. Wasted 1 full hour empty stomach waiting for the staff to arrive. Don't opt this hospital for health check ups as they open very late compared to other service providers

I wish to commend the services of Dr. Paritosh Baghel and the entire team at the ICU from 09Oct-12Oct19. My 99year old mother had a swift recovery. I thank each of them for their professional treatment along with the counseling sessions with a lady doctor who updated us with their treatment procedures.
Suggest that
i) in case of death of a patient, the relatives/by standers should kept in a separate room to grieve as it affects the other patient’s by standers.ii) The air-conditioning and other facilities be constantly maintained and improved.

If you Have lots money and you don’t know how to spend simply admit yourself in this hospital and get wrong treatment. I hope you have understood.

It is very tough and painful for me to write review of such ruthless, mechanical and pathetic doctors, nursing staff and team of S L Raheja hospital NICU department (Fortis system management included). It’s a place of experimentation where anyone lives are not valued at all. It is all about churning out of your money. The doctors are a complete book worm who were just experimenting on my little twin babies. They were diagnosing them by their age and weight but not as per clinical findings. To give a rough history, My babies were premies delivered completing roughly 30.5 week. One baby was 1.39 kg and other was 1.6 kg. My first baby (1.6kg) was all well. He was on a cpap for a week being premie. His reports were always normal but he had couple of apneatic episodes which I will come to it shortly. About my small baby, he was little weak, he couldn’t digest feeding and was detected with Necrotizing enterocolitis, how and when was unknown to doctor as his CRP report was always negative. They also suspected meningitis even though report never showed sign of meningitis and the doctor said “probably” this could be meningitis. They even did a lumbar puncture to verify it further and still couldn’t find anything. This so called expert doctors couldn’t detect the cause of it and was experimenting with medicines as per book records and his weight, without clinically examining my baby. Doctors never showed confidence as a neonatologist.
Because of NEC his Kidney got affected and also his PH was acidic. Doctors were incapable to handle this situation so they consulted a nephrologist. So they diagnosed further and started with some medicine which caused swelling all over his body and on same day his blood pressure started decreasing and eventually he couldn’t survive a day further.
Now coming back to my first baby (1.6 kg), who was all well (report wise) with couple of apnea episodes in his first nineteen days. He was able to digest feeding well so Doctor started increasing the feeding by 1ml for couple of days (he was slowly able to reach till 5ml per 3 hour rate feeding) and next day, the doctor increased feeding rate (6-6-6-6-7-7-8-8-9–9–9-9) ml per 2 hour. This was all based on his weight but not as per clinical finding. Also, he had cough and they were providing him with a nebulisation. They should have been aware that it is a premie who can’t digest or burp properly and they should have taken care of it.
So unfortunately this critical mistake of the doctors and team led to a drastic unrepairable condition of my baby. After his last feeding early morning, he went into apnea but later on came to know that he choked on his milk and it wasn’t apnea. Choking caused a good 15mins of heart stop. In that 15 mins, we never understood which organs were compromised. He was put on a ventilator straight away. So the first organ which got hit was kidney. He was not able to urinate and this started affecting him. He started to swollen up, on the same day doctor diagnosed that he is having trouble with his heart and they saw a pericardial effusion. They removed that fluid from his heart sac but still not able to pass urine so again a nephrologist was asked for and they proceeded with our consent for a peritoneal dialysis.
He fought for next twenty five days going through three dialysis, two lung puncture for pleural effusion, blood/plasma transfusions everyday, blood taken out for reports, ultrasounds, etc. All these procedures caused infection and eventually he succumbed to all these various physical ailment and various organ failures. His body was all swollen and swelling must be around double his body weight.
All this happened due to a minor, irresponsible reason of excessive feeding. RMO’s & nursing staff also don’t give any impression that they can take care of the patient. They are not that skilled to handle a preterm baby. If you keep nagging them then they will proceed with the procedures.please don’t even climb stairs of this hospital. It is a money extorting conglomerate who doesn’t care for their patients and their relatives.

Very good. All amenities which aee necessary fir medical imnergency are available. Onlt problems with billing and TPA settlement. Its very very boring. They do take long time to finish all these things which delays discharge procedure.

The pathology report of any half decent hospital will entail the microscopic examination of the specimen. I had given my dad's biopsy for examination. The report exclusively had one line written "Histopathological diagnosis- Lipoma" and for that these people charge Rs. 6500/-. This is the diagnosis by Dr. Anita Borges on paper though i really doubt it was run through by the doctor. Pathetically unprofessional.

Emergency ward is really bad. We had an emergency and the doctor there startes yelling at us for no reason, very insensitive staff and pathetic experience

Worst hospital ever, one of my relative admitted due to dengue fever, she is heart patient and having pacemaker, the greedy hospital staff was promoting for replacement of pacemaker with a statement that the existing pacemaker not functional, horrible, not at all recommended.

Its the most third class hospital in my experience, no communication amongst their staff, rude behavior with patients, take hours for simple tests and procedures. Pathetic management, no action taken despite several complaints.
If you are in serious condition please search for a better hospital because they just know how to make money and don't care for your life.

No air condition working on all floors& no ventilation, a.c only for patients, staff said to complain but, said its a managemnt call, horrinle experience, all attendants will be patients soon.

I've very bad experience. The approach is like a Govt hospital. Services are not proportionate to charges.

Place stinks, never seen staff cleaning, very lethargic attitude, feels like entered a government office. Highly disappointed. TPA clearance takes forever. Inter departments are clueless. Got 3 surgeries for my dad because all were inter related to the treatment he first received Dr bal who is the best diabetic foot surgeon. The doctors in this hospital are amazing but the ancillary staff and facilities need a complete overhaul. For the fees, they charge they serve worse than municipality. Extremely disappointing. One can enter with a patient and become one here.
