I like both the exterior and interior of the temple premises. And lightening in the evening making it so beautiful. I would suggest to visit in evening time approx 7-8pm.
This temple has a very interesting history which you should know by visiting itself. A very attractive idols of shri Ganesha, one is in pure gold and another is ancient. It's very old and nice temple. Gives very positive and good vibes. Must visit for darshanam if you are at Diveagar. It's located at north end of Diveagar. Opens at 8 am and closes at 8 pm sharp.
Nice little temple of Lord Ganesh with very interesting history. Just search history of this temple on internet and the story itself will convince you to visit this temple. And yeh clicking photos is not allowed inside temple.
Very beautiful temple with golden statue of Lord Ganesha. You can also find modak prasadam here. Outside there are shops selling puja offerings, coconut water, show pieces.
The temple is the Identity of Diveagar. The Golden Ganesha Idol was stolen some two decades ago. The idol is replaced a couple of years ago. Now it is kept under locks. We were lucky to have a nice Darshan on the auspicious Sankashti Chaturthi day. The temple is very nice, quiet and peaceful. Loved it.
Quiet, Calming, Sparsely populated Ganesh temple just close to Diveagar Beach. It has quite interesting history associated with it. Well maintained by trust and community. Must visit to know about its history.
It was initially not known to many people. The robbery that happened (golden ganpati idol stolen) brought this place into limelight. It was retrieved later but it was melted state. So they made this idol as original. Redevelopment happened and then this Mandir looks as good as it is! Initially it was a very small. A Must visit! Nearby you have the beautiful Diveagar Beach. Just about 5 mins from there.
One of the most famous place of Diveagar, Must visit here to get blessing of Ganpati Bappa. Aravi beach, Shriwardhan Beach, Shekhadi sea view point, Murud Janjira are the most famous places are nearby from here, Historical & holy place of Diveagar.
Before this temple was the best tourist attractions. But still its the best place to visit.near by there is a beach and has water sports which attracts tourist.
History of Suvarnaganesha is quite fascinating. It was on the special day of November 17th 1998 (Sankashti Chaturthi as per the Hindu calendar) that there was found a copper box beneath the earth some 40-50 cm. It was weighing 30 kilos, 37.5 cm (27 inches) in length, 45 cm (18 inches) wide, 17.5 (7 inches) in height, in a coconut cultivation near the temple.
The box was muddy as it was buried and looked ancient. It had some words written from the 10 century in Sanskrit. This incident attracted the entire mob from the Diveagar village. It was to everyone's astonishment as what could be in the box? This was the second incident that an ancient piece of history was found, as earlier there was found a "Tamraptra" at the same place. May be this box could relate something with the "Tamraptra" opening the door of the unsolved mysteries of past. And the box was opened at 12 noon. There was a sculpture of Lord Ganesh made out of pure gold. Also the box contained ornaments belonging to Lord Ganesha. It was then that the god was named "Suvarnaganesh".
Suvarnaganesh is a complete idol of Lord Ganesha, but a sculpture of pure 24 caret gold. Its weighted 1 kilo and 300grams, with height of 60cm (24 inches). The sculpture made is 300 to 400 years ancient. It is said that this sculpture was created to mask some Lord Ganesh stone idol, which was earlier in the temple.
One of the attractions of Divegar. Made of red stones the temple has a cool and earthy feel to it. The Suwarna (Golden) Ganesh idol though found at this spot isn't here anymore. Some people at the temple explained that it was taken by the authorities as per law, others said it's stolen. The temple has a washroom that was under-construction/renovation (sep 2019). Has smaller temples nearby.
Very nice temple in diveagar. Photography was not allowed inside temple but for those people who can't visit this temple I have clicked ganesh murti photos. Take blessings from home.
Mandir is on the way to shrivardhan costal road. Old golden idol is stolen and now replaced with another. Toilet available. Kokan food items shopsare there.
Ganapati bappa Morya You will not see suvarna Ganesh here. But can see the photos. Suvarna Ganesh was stolen by thieves 7 years past on the earlier night of Gudi Padwa. The new temple built by villagers is excellent.
One of the tourist attraction in Konkan. It's an old temple of lord Ganesha. The idol is made up of gold so it's called as suvarna Ganesh temple. Very good ambience, I brought back a positivity from temple. I wish to revisit this beautiful place again.
Beautiful Ganesh temple in serene environment of Diveagar panchayat area. There is large car parking lot and lots of local food options. Temple is very clean and has vast area to rest and relax after darshan. Toilet is located nearby. Temple visit is not only divine but also enjoyable. Diveagar beach is also nearby
