Over hyped cafe, first you have to wait in line to enter into the cafe then you have to wait for everything once you are inside. We have asked for water they aren’t listening properly.

- Very average food at overhyped prices.
- Very less options of food to go for, coromandel cafe is far far better in every sense.

A very cozy Cafe with good food. The Cafe is pet-friendly and had a really nice colonial ambiance. The service was also quick even though the place was completely filled out.

One of the worst experiences of Pondicherry. After spending 1 hour in line and 1 hour for food to arrive, we had one Asian salad and a creole sandwich which were the two most disappointing food items that we had during our Pondicherry stay. A Dry bread on a tasteless sandwich and incredibly bland salad later, this has got to be the worst decision in an otherwise beautiful and serene beautiful Pondi

For a okayish Crossaint.
A Terrible Masala Chai
And Water Melon Juice for Breakfast is terrible choice.
It was a good experience though.
The staff kept prompting me to leave the table when I was sitting down and waiting for my friends to arrive.
Bad choice for a vegetarian to have breakfast.
Overall, sub par experience for me.

Very charming, different and peaceful ambience. You'll get many varieties of healthy food items and drinks which are good.

This place is so photo friendly that every visitor must visit this place if not to eat at least to get good pictures at quirky wall of this cafe.

I had english breakfast which was so filling and balance proportion.
Ambiance is so good not loud music.

But if you are looking for food for indian pallet then avoid going here.

Good place to visit and dine in. Top notch food quality and perfect French ambiance made my visit very pleasant. I love coming back again and again. Highly recommended

They don’t serve brown people. Food is below average at best. They serve monsoon Malabar coffee, but unfortunately it takes over 45 mins (I didn’t have the patience). Also you can seat yourself whoever you want but if a white group wants to sit there then they will take you back to the segregation era.

The food wasnt good and they very quickly served the coffee, the coffee didn't seem to be fresh, it felt like they heated up left over coffee. The ambiance of the cafe was very unwelcoming and the staff behaved very rudey and acted very elite.

Not worthy. Lot of waiting time. Couldn’t find a place to sit. Food is worst. It’s not worth trying

We came here since this was the most recommended must visit cafes in white town. We were made to wait for 30 min to get an entry and another 45 min to get the food we ordered. There is limited option for food. If you are really hungry this is not the place for you! Come here to just relax.

The food is good but not as great as the price point claims to be. Good interiors and the prime location is what attracts everyone here.

The ambience is the only thing that is good about this place. The food was cold. Prices are way too high. If you want decent food from this place, you'll have to pay a fortune. I'd rather eat at another place for way less and fill my stomach.

Amazing ambience, great plating and dishes made using the freshest of ingredients. The taste of the tomato toasties we ordered wasn't most amazing as it was missing some condiments, spices etc

Really loved the ambience here. One of the most visited Cafe painted with pastel yellow. Cafe Des arts sets the mood with scenic outdoor seating and a well furnished interior. They offer a wide range of cuisine, French being served mainly. The cafe also has indoor thrift shop for those who wanna indulge in shopping.

Just out of this place and honestly its way too overrated and overpriced.dont visit if you are looking for good food.its only the ambiance and decor which is an highlight.in literal sense they are charging only for the pics u taking.not the food.

Terribly overrated cafe. The only good thing is the wall outside. It's not worth the money and time. The lady at the gate is extremely rude. I would not recommend it to anyone. You'll find many other much better and reasonable cafes around.

I didn't like the food, sandwich buns was cold too hard to eat. On top of it service was very very slow. We ordered ice-cream for kids and they served completely melted one.

If you are looking for French food it is a good option.everyone may not like it.sandwiches we ordered weren't that great.nice ambience.bit overpriced too.

This place is a classic FOMO example. Such over hype and ironically a horrendous restaurant/cafe.
1. Food is 2/10, the bread was hard as a rock, eggs were below average, bacon was over cooked and the quantity of tea served could solve water crisis of a small country.
2. Staff was clueless when it cam to availability of seating
3. Service was slower than a snail's pace.
4. They took 2 hours to serve scrambled eggs and toast.
My advice: do not fall prey to these so called influencers and find a decent deli/cafe in Puducherry and trust me, there are many.

I would say this is the worst cafe in Pondicherry… the did not have most of the items from the menu and the food they had did not taste good it is not at all worth the money … there are many other restaurants that has a better ambiance and better food

We ordered at 9.15 am the food came only around 10 for a simple omelette & scrambled egg! The eggs I have to say were so disappointing with runny literally water from scrambled egg cold toasts and such a below average omelette, Truly Disappointed

Ambience and the food quality and taste is worth spending time in this place. Such a blissful place it is. Don't forget to visit this whenever you want to have good sandwiches with a peaceful ambience. Mostly crowded during weekends still worth the wait. ️

You can go there just for the ambience. Food was not much appealing to me. Dint like any of the dish that I tried there.especially the Mint cooler was pathetic.

Good place, good service, good food, good ambiance and a reasonable price. Only thing we found a bit odd was that the time between oders was a bit too much, I mean the place was kind of busy but guys the overall experience was a good one.

Beautiful cafe, Great environment and ambience. Helpful and energetic staff. The owner takes personal attention in all guests. Great food and drinks too.the cafe is big still since it is famous with good food, thus he prepared for some waiting time.

Probably the most overrated cafes I have ever been to. Poor service, poor taste, below par food quality. Only popular amongst tourists wanting to experience French Heritage feel which is one of a kind. But not at all worth the money paid. I visited twice and it's the same thing everytime. Visit, but lower your food expectations.

Visit this cafe for a French breakfast. You will love the ambience of the cafe. Visited on a Saturday morning and it was too crowded and the order was so much delayed.

Good ambience but the seating was highly uncomfortable. The taste of some of the items were underwhelming and the quantity was less. Salads were very appetizing. Overall, you can try it once.

One of the amazing places if you want to try out English breakfast. Various choices are available and the taste is also amazing.

Over hyped. The food is not that great here but nice staff who will attend you regularly with out you having to call them to ur table. There are some old table fans near some tables, which doesn't work properly. Hence you are left with no other choice but compromising in some or the other way. A little high on ur wallet for the food that you get here, which I found below par for the hype this place has. As the name suggests, exterior and interior art is great for clicking some good pictures.

Wow. Wat a place, its a foto attraction to a lot of tourists now. Great food and amazing service. Extremely polite staff and love the decor interiors. Quality of crowd is also pretty good.

I had read they sell vintage products and went to their cafe/shop today. I liked a vintage handbag and was curious to know how old it was. The manager said he’d WhatsApp the owner of the shop to ask. He told us it was from the 90s and we gave our credit card to purchase it. The price tag on the bag was Rs. 4000. As he was about to swipe my card, the owner told him not to sell it at that price and that she would now only sell it at Rs. 5500. As we expressed shock at how they could suddenly change price, the manager just shrugged his shoulders and said if she wants to now sell at that price, there was nothing he could do since he worked for her. Found it highly unethical and really left a bad taste in my mouth. Never entering their shop again.

I had heard so much about this place. I also read a lot of reviews, but this one disappointed me. The food was very average. Not something like great taste.
The stars are only for the ambience the have created.
The service is also not that great. (At one point I felt that only foreigners are welcome here)

One of the best places in the city to start your day with a very tasty and filling breakfast at reasonable price. We enjoyed every single dish which we had ordered. This is a cozy place to relax and have breakfast or snacks. Service is a bit slow but didn’t care care much about the slow service as we weren’t much hungry or in any hurry and were in the town to lay back and have a relaxed time.

The best part about this place is the way they attract customers.the outside wall has some cool cartoon pictures which is perfect place for photo snapping and the inside ambience is great unless like other cafes what makes it unique is the seating arrangement and it feels like home!

An amazing place for art lovers the interior is well decorated but it is a bit costly their vintage collections are great and food must be choosed well

Good Ambience, u need to order your food and enjoy the ambience, as the food will take time to reach your table so if u super hungry please avoid this place, but if u enjoy ambience than this place is definitely on ur list.staff is super friendly and the owner takes care himself to ensure the comfort of the visitors.

Loved the croissants, baguettes. And those vintage architecture and colonial furnitures the Cafe! Open everyday other than Tuesday I guess. Check with the Cafe and Plan well.

A really nice place to sit and relax in the heart of Pondicherry. I really like the ambiance and the crowd, staff is fine as well. Although, I find that the food falls short of expectations. Omelets, pastries and sandwiches are ok, nothing bad about them but they are pretty basic. It just seems that for the prices they charge, the food would be a level up from other establishments but this is not the case.

Awesome ambience, but extremely difficult to get table. Food is a little above average, waffles are good. Staff are not very quick, probably because they are less in number. Closes order suddenly. Try only if you have lot of time to wait. Ambience is unparalleled.

Ok food, waiters and owner are a bit arrogant anytime u go there they always say they are full which is not the case. They don't serve drinks but yes people can smoke at third door step next to some tables at front door, which they allow as they don't have the courage to tell them not to smoke there. Make ur choice wisely.

Nice place. Great ambiance. People who wants to try french cuisine can try here. If u want to spend some quality time with friends n family this could be one of the good place.
Only, this place is little crowded over weekend and people may need to spend some time to get the good on table. So people who has less time is not preferable.

They've got the best coffee (Americano) and crepes in the town. The ambience is wonderful too. We didn't take our complimentary breakfast so we would eat here: -D

The food was very good! They had delicious crepe’s and good coffee. The atmosphere is very relaxed. This is a place where you can spend hours without worrying about being kicked out. Would highly recommend!

Perfect place to drink a coffee. The place is situated in heart of white town. Real French taste food. Eva the owner has a very good taste of art and vintage stuff. Once you are there you don't want to leave the place. Best wishes to all the team of café Des arts

Cafe des Arts is a lovely place to just unwind. Having gone there for a late breakfast, we ordered the “Complete” breakfast and the Nutella crepes along with some iced tea.
The watermelon juice served along with the breakfast was refreshing. However, the scrambled eggs were slightly watery and the black coffee was burnt.
On the other hand, the Nutella crepes had crispy edges and gooey insides with a generous amount of Nutella that a lot of other places restrain from doing. It was definitely a very indulgent plate of food. The iced tea was homemade and had the perfect balance between the flavours of the tea and the sweetness.
Lastly, we loved the large cupboard full of books and particularly liked going through a book with pictures from the 70s.
