I recently dined at Handi's restaurant in Jaipur, and I must say my experience was quite disappointing. Despite its reputation as one of the top restaurants in Jaipur, I found myself unsatisfied with several aspects of my visit.
Firstly, the food left much to be desired. I ordered the Lal Maas, hoping for an authentic taste, but what I received was a letdown. The dish contained boiled mutton in gravy, which didn't align with my expectations of a flavorful, traditional Lal Maas preparation. Unfortunately, the issue extended to other non-vegetarian dishes as well, making the overall dining experience underwhelming.
The service and ambiance also didn't live up to my expectations. The service was lackluster, and the ambiance didn't create the inviting atmosphere one would hope for when dining at a reputed restaurant.
In summary, my visit to Handi's restaurant in Jaipur was a disappointment. Despite its reputation, the food, service, and ambiance did not meet my expectations. I hope they can address these issues to provide a more satisfying dining experience for their customers in the future.
The service is fast and the food is just fine. We tried their dhaba daal, jodhpuri laal maans, and kadhai chicken. Dhaba daal is soulful and simple, exactly how it should be. The jaisalmeri laal maans is on the spicier side (as mentioned in the menu). But the issue is it has too much spices and not for someone who prefers a light meal. The chicken was better though. The price is on a bit higher side but that is how on average all surrounding restaurant prices are so can't complain on that front. The thing that i noticed is the person who serves will ask for the tip amount to be added while paying for the bill and they try to convince you how it's a valid charge to you and you should pay it because service tax is going to the government and we are liable to pay all random charges levied, including the tip. Asking for a tip is absolutely fair but trying to convince the customer how it's a valid charge is kind of coercion that did seem odd to us.
Fellow travelers, just wanted to give you a heads up about my recent experience as an American solo traveler in India. I decided to try out Handis, a restaurant highly recommended by locals and with plenty of reviews. The customer service was good, but unfortunately, the food turned out to be expired. It caused some serious stomach issues during the night, and I'm pretty sure it was because of what they served me. Long story short, I don't recommend it. Stay safe and choose your dining spots wisely!
Good service, humble decor, no frills restaurant. Quality of meat (chicken and mutton) was good. However, I went there expecting a spectacular laal maas and was left disappointed. I have had better laal maas at many other non Rajasthani places.
Jungle Mass dry was pathetic, the chicken is looking like boiled chicken with some spices over top. Laal mass gravy is good but they serve only 2 Piece which you may got only bones with very less meat on 350.
Must visit. Ambience, food, service up to the mark. We visited rooftop. Tried Laal maas, chicken masala, paneer masala. All awesome taste, every dish has different taste. Must eat, visit. Alcoholic, non alcoholic Drinks served on table. A bit expensive but worth an experience.
The service is pathetic even after going to counter and telling them to take order twice also they didn't bother to take order. Not worth to have food peacefully. You have to wait for people to take order at least 45 min every time.
Only hype and taking advantage of situated on the MI ROAD. Not so delicious food. Long waiting on weekend, Had to stand on road to wait and no system or queue management. Even the food is also not so delicious.
Handi Restaurant is located in Ashok Nagar (Jaipur), Bhura Tiba, C. P. M. G, Chandpole Bazar, Indra Bazar, Jaipur, M. I. Road, Purani Basti (Jaipur)
One of the best place in Jaipur for Food lovers. I traveled 250km for Handi restaurant taste. Jaisalmeri Lal mans and Jaisalmeri chaap masala is awesome.
Few days back we were at handi resturant MI Road, I really really really like the ambiance, it reminds me Forts, The rooftop is amazing & I tried Chicken Tikka, Mutton Fry, Banta, Veg main course, Sushi nd some amazing drinks Must Recommended Do Visit & Share your experience
What a place it is.really the best food with best ambiance one must visit handi restaurant. I had ordered various drinks and main course which include laal maas, white maas naan and biryani.trust me the taste was really yumm (5/5)
The place has a energetic vibe and the staff is on their toes to bring the orders. The rooftop sitting is where i had my dining experience and it was managed well. They have a restaurant at ground floor as well. I found the prices of the rooftop sitting area's menu a little overpriced, they may be reasonable at the ground floor as per the kind of experience they offer. Also, Jaisalmeri Laal Maas is one of the must haves here and trust me your taste buds will be ever thankful tk u after having it. The biriyani however, seemed a disappointment. Reason 1: It had too.many whole spices which were kabab me haddi. Reason 2: The rice though was long grain but was definitely not basmati and had no aroma or taste. The pieces of chicken served with biriyani were cooked to perfection and saved the whole platter from being an utter disappointment. Suggestion to hote
Noodles - Not good. Noodle were thick and locally made. We ordered chilli chicken garlic noodles and there was no taste of garlic. Lal Mass - Too spicy (though it's supposed to be) but ours was like raw Lal mirch added and no proper cooking of masala took place.
Dal Makhni - Less namak and very weird taste. Taste was more towards tangy (Amchur wala khatta)
Worst food ever! I am never coming back and would never suggest this restaurant to anyone. We ordered lal mans and handi chicken both had no flavor except "red chilli". Mutton had bad smell too. Overrated and overpriced
First we waited for half an hour to get a table. Then we had to literally go and ask the manager to clean our table, take our order and ask for the status of our order. The junglee maas was good, no doubt. I went here based on strong recommendations, but the service was sub par. Though the food's pricing was reasonable, what shocked us when we were charged Rs. 100 for butter naan. It is generally under Rs. 50 elsewhere. There was nothing that special about the naan. I rechecked the price and paid but this was an extremely unpleasant surprise. I literally had to go to the cash counter to make the payment. Do not go here. It is not worth the experience
Went to this place in spite of reading so many negative reviews. No parking available. Fend for your own on this busy road. The interior is cosy. Ordered their signature dishes. 1. Junglee maas. Weird recipe. Nowhere near any kind of taste. Just oil. You should count yourself lucky if you get any meat. 2. The most famous Laal maas. Fiery gravy. But again the mutton was missing. All bones and cartilage only. 3. Breads were decent. 4. Bunta. Their local lemonade was alright.
Service was alright. I did bring it to the head guy's notice and showed him the bones. He simply shrugged and said "what can I do" Price wise a little expensive. Wouldn't have minded to pay more provided there was some meat. The quality of mutton was the worst I've had in any famous restaurant. Better start doing justice to their legacy else they will be left holding only a handi. Disappointed.
One of the best place to have traditional Junglee Lal mans and Jaisalmeri Lal mans. Open roof top sitting place is too good. They have ample of space to sit and enjoy your meal. Along with food they also serve alcoholic beverages.
Few days back we were at handi resturant MI Road, I really really really like the ambiance, it reminds me Forts, The rooftop is amazing & I tried Chicken Tikka which taste was so good
Ordered Handi Chicken and Jungli Maas. Taste was awful and very less quantity. Jungli maas me maas tha hi nahi, sirf bones the. Aur handi chicken me masala bahut kam.
Food was awesome but staff's expectations for tips are really high. The moment you ask for final bill.almost 4-5 of them stands beside you during payment which is so awkward for guests.
