Lovely Hotel! Full of accommodating and cordial staff! There are so many things to explore in the hotel l, and it's amazing to glance around! It's associated with The Way. The place is ravishing! Definitely deserves more than 5 stars!

This is the best hotel I have stayed at VSTM Bamboo Grove Retreat in Gangtok. Service are extraordinary and all the staff from the management, reception, housekeeping to the front desk are exceptionally careful and mindful. Awesome and thumb up. Thankyou for making our Stay a very memorable one.

Our stay on 16th May, 2022 was for one night. It is a nice budget hotel. The attitude of the staff is exceedingly polite and all are very cooperative. Our toilet flush was missing and TV was not working, but they replaced both within minutes. M. G. Marg is very near. Only point is that the restaurant is not functional, but food can be brought from a restaurant just by its side.

All area in and around are dust and dirty. No proper room service facility. No person s responsible to provide bill also. Very disappointing with cleanliness and service.

During my tour to Gangtok, I stayed here with my family, beautiful experience and I am totally satisfied, in future when I go Gangtok will stay here and advise all my friends and relatives to stay here and to get an wonderful experience.

Very nice experience. Big clean rooms. Staff are superb and very helpful. The staffs take very good care of guests. The owner is also very polite and helpful person. Loved the stay.

Negatives: TV connectivity & Generator service not there.

I stayed there for a night & manager provided me the best room, the attic room. Apart from television connectivity rest of the services were good. However in the next day morning, we experienced a power fault and they didn't had any generator to continue the gyser service, which is quite an essestial element in city like gangtok.

Manager Mudassar Ali is the good person who always helped us for our any requirements.
Good locations and rooms are big. 7 mints from MG marg.

4 star for the accommodation and 1star for the stuff. It was just a family like behaviour. Food serve was amazing. Close to MG Road.

Had a lovely stay here. Ask for their attic rooms if available. Very cozy rooms. They also serve food on order and very delicious food, too. The place itself is surrounded by bamboos which gives it a snug-ish demeanor. MG marg is a 5 minute walk, and vehicles can pick you up or drop you off right at the doorstep.

Nice environment. Stuffs are very cooperative. But only problem is to walk over there as it is in slightly higher.

Worst Experience!
The front desk guys over here are not cooperative they don't know how to talk to customers.
We have booked 2 rooms for 5 people and they gave us the upper wooden rooms without any heater or warmer in winter's minus 1 degrees temperature.
No Geysers in Any room. They have some idiotic boiler System.
Staff is unprofessional. It just looks good from outside but from inside it's bad. They only thing which had liked about this stay that the breakfast which we had was better than the hospitality and rooms.

Rooms are very good, clean & cozy. Hotel staffs are very helpful & Co - operative. Rooms service is very much prompt. Hotel is located near MG-MARG, 5min walking distance. But The food is bit costly as they charged 70 rs for omelette & 150rs for aloo paratha. Apart from this we had a good experience with with hotel.

Hotel in good position just above M. G Marg.staffs behaviour is excellent. Mr. Taj helped us a lot.good accomodation for riders.parking slot is very spacious

The hotel were awesome. Staff was very cooperative & Mr Taj, the owner was very helpful very much like a family member.

There are way better options in Gangtok and we from Kerala had to find another hotel to stay due to the uncomfortable experiences in this hotel. Rooms are old and low lit. The bed linen and pillow covers are not clean and hence I had to sleep without a pillow due to the stains in the pillow. The worst experience is with the breakfast. The bread kept was old and had fungus on it. I will never recommend this hotel and thanks for causing such inconvenience.

Bamboo Grove Retreat is an unassuming and basic hotel in Gangtok with no fancy frills. But what makes it stand apart amidst the crowd of more than 100+ properties in Gangtok is that it's absolute value for money and boasts of impeccable service.

We were upgraded to the attic room. Mind it you have to climb 3 floors as there are no lifts. But the room is spacious for a family and gives unobstructed view of Kanchenjunga on a non-misty morning. In the cold of Gangtok, the geyser provides 24-hour hot water even in the wash basin. On mornings though, it takes a long time for the chilled water to turn hot. They helped us with buckets of hot water in the morning. Room heaters are available at a nominal charge of Rs 300/day. The road leading to the property is a very steep slope and even the best drivers find it difficult to get through. But the place is just 5 min walk from MG Marg, the happening hub of Gangtok.

What essentially makes the place memorable is the efforts that the manager and staff take to make you feel comfortable. Manager Mudassar got us winter clothes from his family wardrobe and ensured we were tension-free before entering snow zones. Suzanne who doubled as the bellboy to room service ensured that we had our morning tea, evening snacks and even dinner within the cozy comforts of our room and at no additional room service cost.

At Rs 4300/night for 3 adults and 2 kids with breakfast and dinner, this is possibly the best deal that you can get in Gangtok for such service standards. Do check with them directly to get the best rates rather than going through several booking sites.

Food is one area where they can certainly improve. The paneer wasn't fresh and the other items in breakfast and dinner were plain average. However on special request, Mudassar got us Biryani, Manchurian and tomato soup on one night which was lip-smacking.

Considering that you would spend most of your time in Gangtok out of your hotel room doing local sightseeing or excursions to Nathula or Lachung, it is enough to have a hotel like Bamboo Grove Retreat which provides you with all the basic necessities and considerate room service after a hectic day of sightseeing and at a price that is unmatchable!

VERY UNSAFE ABOUT OUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS, with my family i stayed at this hotel four days, had very bad experience - my daughter's wrist watch found missing from her room. We kept the keys with reception desk while going for site visit. When informed to hotel manager he was not in position to trace it out.

This is a great place and with nice rooms in a real bamboo grove. The biggest point is they have a secure parking lot, which is a rarest of rare thing in Gangtok. Add to that the location.its just a 5 minute walk through a bunch of stairs. The cherry on top is the behaviour of the staff. They will help you with anything you want and always with a smile. The owner Raj is a great person and we talked a lot when he was free. He can also advise you on places to visit. The food ordered was super oily and rich.something that I dont like but the staff did their best.

Nice place to stay, go for the attic room if more number of people, view from that room is awesome, say Good Morning to Mt. Kanchenjunga right from your window. Food variety could improve.looking ahead for a second trip to Gangtok!

The hotel was great, had good experience, staff was really good, Food was not that Tasty, but was healthy. Location was perfect from there u can visit for sightseeing. Rooms were Awesome, clean and neat. For drinking hot water was provided whenever asked. Overall it was an Excellent.

Hospitality is very good. Hotel staff are very helpful. Rooms are as expected, very clean, neat and tidy. Maintains very good hygiene. Dining area is very spacious and well maintained. Food served is very good almost like home made food. There's lot of parking area inside the campus. Overall a very good place to stay in Gangtok.

This was our second stay at this place. The hotel staff is very friendly and the room service is great. The rooms have a great view and are very neat and clean specially the ones up in the attic. We had food indoors and keeping aside the price the food was delicious and statisfying. The hotel manager Mr. Taj was very helpful and went out of his ways to help us get our documents ready for Gurudongmar. Overall the experience was good. Surrounded by bamboo trees and friendly hotel staff and manager Bamboo Grove Retreat never fails to make it's visitors happy and provide them with a great time in Gangtok. I would highly recommend this place.

Awesome experience to stay at Bamboo grove retreat, Facilities are much better than other hotels and the whole staff was too good and friendly nature. How could i forget to take name of Mr Taj sir who is the owner of the restaurant he is very coperative and awesome guy. And the thing I like most is variety of food and the proper healthy meal they serve. Whenever I will come, I will visit again.

We had nice three days stay here good comfortable rooms with all facilities. Good cooperative staff & exlent service.

6 minutes away from M. G. Market & Lal Market (after 50steps ahead from hotel, take the stair on the right to reach the M. G. Market). If u prefer a silent & peaceful place, do come. Hospitality is excellent. The woner cum manager is very helpful and polite. Mr. Muddaser Wali & his cusin brother. Other staff is also very good & their service is very quick.from 202-205 you can see a beutiful view. Room & bathroom are clean and hot water is available. Exactly the same location and room what it has been shown in net. Last but not the least, the cooking of its chef is delicious & tasty.over all, very good place for tourist.

I stayed here on 1st June 2018. Booked the Hotel based on the review given by previous Guests. I was very disappointed with me to choose a hotel like this. Far away from M. G Marg. Steep road to reach the hotel.very difficult for elderly person. Rooms were very small and dirty. Not at all cleaned well. Not professional behavior. Did not dare to go for their food seeing the condition of the rooms. Location is not very attractive. Not view from room. Rooms were like Garage rooms. Moreover I investigated few hotels on M. G Marg which was charging less than what Bamboo Groove charged me. No recommended at all.

Awsme place great view I had a chance to view Kanchenjunga direct from my window one fine morning the weather was clear on that particular day and courteous staff plus great location
