Great location. Walkable distance from MG market. Gift shops, wine shops, clothes shops and rental service all are near. Great view.

Receptionist was polite, but some of the porters and assisting staff were unprofessional in their attitude towards customers. Convenient location. Clean, budget friendly rooms.

The hotel room is very poor in condition. The washroom is pathetic and unhygienic. Weird smell is coming all over the place. We booked it for 2days but after visiting the hotel, we tried to cancel the booking for atleast 1 day but they are not ready to return the money. Bad experience!

Don't go by the price, price is average but room and service given by them is indeed good. Also, it's very close to MG Marg. The manager/receptionist is very polite and helpful. I will surely recommend you this hotel. ️

The price is so much but service is less as expected we pay @2500 per day in December it is compared to other hotel it much higher but no break fast.

It was a nice hotel. Very helpful and kind staffs. Fast service as well. Spacious rooms and clean toilets as well. Won't get such good rooms in such a cheap price around 300 per head for one night in Gangtok. We stayed for almost a week. Enjoyed the stay there. Would surely recommend to try out.

Very good hotel at a very reasonable price. MG Market is 5 minutes away by walk from the hotel.
We stayed a total of 3 nights and we liked it.

Hotel is near to MG Marg. Rooms are clean & service is great. I would like to appreciate Mr Bappa Bakshi for his great service. Food is also good & rates are also reasonable.

In budget category hotel, what you will get is excellent be it location, be it service, be it courteous behaviour or be it rooms quality.

Manager and staffs are lazy. They don't listen to your demands and very rude staff. Rooms are not clean and service is not up to date.

Because of loyalty of the staffs.as I left my bag during checkout. They informed us very fast so that we could return to pick that.

I have given the key to clean the room but not done properly.

One of the worst hotels in gangtok, please avoid. We booked through agent but later changed to different hotel. This hotel had rooms worth 500 rupees, red blankets with best bugs, fungus all over on walls and on cupboard. Once you visit this hotel you literally want to puke. Avoid guys. Don't go on online reviews and pictures, they are taken when this hotel was initially started.

Hotel is very good neat and clean. I visited twice. Location is also good, very close to mg road. Food is okay but prefer outside. There are many hotels nearby having large menu with reasonable rate.

Located on Tibet Road at walking distance from MG Road
The hotel charged Rs. 3300 for one night but the rooms were very untidy Washroom was dirty, pillowcase were torn. Not worth the amount paid for one night

Location wise it's very much walkable to main market mall road, mg road. Caretaker & Owner both were nice person as well and very much responsive. I reached late night once & early morning once and they were very quick to provide me rooms
Geaser, WiFi was available & toilet was clean. Room was specious and clean. This property also has a in house kitchen for buffet but not sure why it was not operating. They have power backup inverter. My both day stay was good and so I thought at first to give 5* out of 5 but my last night experience was bad. I had called the reception for drinking water jug to provide at my room as water was empty at around 9pm, they responded on call quickly but did not send water. I have waited for around 1 hr and called one more time for the same but again no body showed up at my room and I had to slept thirsty the whole night. Because of this reason I am reducing 1 point as this shows very much carelessness because water is always the important thing for a person's life.

Hi i stayed there 2nights with my family,
There is no room service, No proper water facility, Washrooms weren't not maintained properly. Food when ever we asked they said u have to wait for an hour. So suggest you to select best hotel if your are planning with family

Pathetic, washroom are very unhygienic, water issue was raised and not resolved. Geysers was not working and tap wall was very loose with washer problems. Bedsheets were un washed. Room full of smell and kitchen smell was spreading into rooms. I came with alot of expectations as Jain group. But this hotel disappointed my trip.

Best hotel and helpfull staff, 3 minutes walking distance from MG marg market and 10 minutes walking distance from SNT bus stand.

If you are looking for a budget hotel at a convenient location, then Potala might be good for you. But to get more stars they need to improve on room condition and service for sure.

5. Unavailability of housekeeping when required.

A nice budget stay in the city gangtok provides good service to the guests.near to mg market. If u go by walk, u hv to go upward from the market which gives little trouble for middle aged to aged people.

I forgot my BT earphone there and they don't even inform if u hv lost any stuff there. Very greedy management.

Dont book Hotel potala.in same tariff you can booked more beautiful place at MG marg. We booked it through online but after check in we were total disappointed about the room condition and services. The condition of those room look like cheapest category @500 where we booked 1700/ per night. If you are not satisfied about hotel/room they can proposed to settle in another property which is far location from MG marg. Immidiately we check out without any refund money where we have paid 50% advance.and in same tariff we could able to manage at MG marg proper market area. All tourist are requested before booking this property carefully review it and then decide.

Don't book this hotel.in same tariff you can find better hotel in heart of MG marg. Room condition, staff very poor.

Nice location, helpful staffs and good food. Rooms are spacious, clean and you will get a better view of mountains.

Good hotel but big disadvantage is that if you have to get yourself upstairs always if you hotel room is in top floors. Secondly, non veg food is not available in the hotel dining. Rest all is good.

Great hotel at an affordable price range. Hot water is always available. Nice behaviour of the stuffs and manager.location is also good and is near mg Marg. All in all a Great value for money.

Stayed in this hotel during my Sikkim tour last December. Nice Jain Hotel. Only complain is room walls, bed cover are not super clean. Stuffs are nice anyway.

Best is, its location, very near to MG Marg so evening you can roam around MG Marg.
Room and bathroom was clean. Hot water available.
Food is also superb here.

Cozy place to stay at Gangtok with well furnished rooms and facilities. The only major problem is that there is no elevator, and the stairs are very very steep.

Average stay. We took 3 rooms out of which one was excellent but the other two were stinky and not clean. Staff were kind and helpful. We had difficulty in location the hotel as it is not marked properly in gmaps. One major advantage is that it is very close to mg road.

A budget hotel with very ordinary service. The view from the rooms is pathetic. The bedsheets and pillow covers are dirty. They don't even provide alternative options for hot water if there is power outage. The only good thing about this hotel was great breakfast

Really good Hotel for Tourists. It is almost 50m from M. G. Market and almost 200m from SNT BUS Stand. And the Price is also reasonable if you book the hotel online then you may get a good discount. And they can also book Travelling to Lachung, Lachen, Nathula at a very reasonable price with lodge and free food.

Pathetic condition of the room. Bed sheets were dirty and the cupboards and tables covered with fungus. The manager was very arrogant, not appropriate. Please avoid this hotel you will ruin your vacation. I would ask the owner to personally look into the management.

Great place. One of the best hotels I have ever been in my life so far. Great service are provided also from boys. Behaviour is also pretty good. Cleanliness is also a great key for attracting consumers to this hotel.

Service was very slow and very bad. <br/>Rooms were okay. <br/>Bathrooms were okay okay. <br/>Not so good. <br/>The rooms were on 1st floor so it was nothing great. <br/>I would not recommend it.

<br/> Nothing is GOOD. <br/>Bad: Let me explain to you - they sell this room as deluxe double but this is a room just 8ft×9ft, imagine! Very stinky room, all covers are extremely Dirty. Guess what, NO MOBILE CHARGING POINT AVAILABE inside Room. Bathroom is dirty than public toilet, no window inside bathroom so it always smell like a room of sh*t. <br/>. Windows has no Bars, Open glass window and there is a common balcony behind the window. So, NO privacy at all. Bed is very very old, torned and stinks so so much that I stay awake whole night. I literally cried inside the room. How can they charge 1881 for this s**t? Pardon my language but book this hotel only if there is no other hotel available in entire Sikkim and you are drunk enough to not notice anything. Otherwise you will die in one night. <br/>P.s - I asked the manager very politely to change the room. He said this is the best room he can give us since we booked for one night only. My wife was ill and she became more ill during that night stay.next morning we left the room asap and got a much better room exactly on MG road for much lesser price. Please everyone.avoid this hotel. Please

1. Price - Very Very High, just for a sjngle room which has 2 double beds and 2 single beds only can accommodate 5-6 people.room quality is very very poor, service is not good. 5300 for one night bahut jyada haiiiiii location or room ke hisab se.
2. Location - A slight upper from MG road, skip this one can get hotel easily at mg road which is prime location at cheaper rates that this.
3. Staff - Okish, not good. I can say itna bura staff nahi hai to itna accha bi nai hai, he aaranged Scorpio for us instead of sumo for 8 seaters.

Nice hotel. Near to MG Marg. Hotel is 4 storeyed, so elder people should preferably ask for ground floor rooms.

I will never recommend this hotel neither for couples nor for family or friend groups. The manager and staff are really very rude, they don't know how to treat their customers. When you ask them for any service and unluckily you are on 4th floor they will tell you not to call them again and again. Even there is no lift and rooms are at height.

Potala hotel based on good place. Near MG marg. Tibet road. But car parking is not available in hotel. Rooms quality not very good but hmm. Avereg quality.

Full damp room. A shocking plastic out side the bathroom that doesn't absorb water and footprint allover the room made a dirt floor. Distance between commode pan and jet spray is too far, that makes you very angry. It's a triple bed deluxe room with only one window and outside of window is a marvelous scenic beauty of garbage packet. Situation most horrible inside the bathroom, water dropping from the ceiling, exhaust fan working sometimes but in a loud manner, geyser switch broken inside. An old man in reception behave like he favour us to stay in his hotel without paying, but we booked 3 deluxe room 2-3 months ago by goidibo with full payment. Room service boys have good behaviour rather than him. So be careful with this hotel before booking.

My personal opinion is I didn't like the beds. The quilts were smelly and washrooms were not nice. The only plus point is it's close to MG Road.

Horrible experience with the hotel and staff.
The Jain group Potala hotel at gantok was really bad. The room was really small, conjusted and dirty. The hardest part was that rooms were very cold (probably because of improper insulation of rooms). To make it worse the staff was rude. The way they treated customers was very bad. We were stuck at this place for 2 days because we booked through goibibo. We changed to much better hotel close by with same price the next day. I recommend not to go this hotel.
