MAYFAIR Spa Resort & Casino, Gangtok

You staff didn't even care we were at Mayfair. Even after asking for the way to Spa. They just over looked and started speaking to each other.

The security was nice. He escorted us to the Spa and we took the service. I suppose Villa No. 812

We are regular guest of Mayfair chain of hotels, we visited Mayfair Gangtok first time from 29th January to 31st January 2024 but service was not upto the mark specially the restaurant service was not good.
. We went to the restaurant for lunch and they insisted us to take lunch in our room.then we ordered our lunch from room but they served our lunch after 1hr.we have to wait 45mints to get boiled potato and rice for our 4yrs old baby.
. Bill was also not provided by receptionist.
We think management is not working properly.
Last time we visited Mayfair Darjeeling their service was excellent.

Just one thing-The guy at the reception (on night duty) was very hospitable. He arranged a mini surprise for our fam celebration at a very short notice. (I must say that the night staff were better than day ones).

Worst worst worst place. Casino is pathetic. They give you falce packages just to fill in the crowd. No proper communication. Food of casino is below par average worst than a road side restaurant. Choose for other casinos in Gangtok but not this one. Won’t recommend it again. Very very very disappointed

Just checked the casino only. It was little too quiet. Due to recent flood it seemed to have suffered. But staff were generally nice.

Wonderful place nd service.staffs r really polite and ready to help.specially Giri on front desk was very kind to help us with all the information.

Awesome property. Stayed for 2 nights with family in the executive room. Rooms are spacious with beautiful interiors. Good food with wide spread at Orchids. SPA & hospitality is amazing.

No point of charging1000/- extra for kids just for few hours.

Mayfair Casino is an excuse for a casino, the moment you enter you’re hit with disgust because the place is extremely tacky and cheap music playing with people whistling in the crowd and the food is okay at most, the casino tables are very limited and if you are in Gangtok please look for other casinos, and if you do plan on visiting, keep in mind, it is like a fish market and chips if you’re a poker player, there are no tables

Loved everything about the resort! The hospitality from the staff was outstanding and warm. The quality of the food was excellent. The only disappointment was the bathroom condition; it needs renovation or deep cleaning!

Please don't book this hotel at all since these guys are making a fool out of their guests.
All guests including hotel guests have to pay Rs 3000-5000 per person as entry fees for casino even though nothing of this sort is mentioned on the website or on the booking.

While making the booking also, hotel staff confirmed that no extra charges are levied for casino entry but that is not the case when you come to the hotel.

Hotel and casino teams say that hotel and casino are separate entities even though hotel clearly uses the word "casino" in their name to mislead customers. On top of that, hotel does not take ownership and is adamant that this is how they have been running the business for last few years.

Rooms are average for the price being charged, time to serve food is about an hour and hotel is about 12-15 kms outside of the Gangtok city. Best to stay away from this property

Great location and property. The restaurant staff was excellent especially Renuka helped us a lot and always kept a smiling face. Only down point is the carpet in the rooms smell of something weird and the instruments in activities like badminton need change.

Casino is only accessible to in house guests. No exceptions. They should be looking into this to make changes. Not appreciated guys.

A great place to be at, but not the casino they may be boasting of. Hugly appreciate their Shiva temple, right nest to entrance, which does live worship at fixed times.

The stay is definitely worth it. Beautifully decorated, cooperative staff and awesome food. The place is like heaven? Totally loved it

The rooms were not up to the mark.cleaning was not done properly.the wash rooms were dirty.not atall satisfied with gangtok mayfair.

Zero stars from me. Currently staying at the royal and regent pool villa with family. AC is not working in one room. Pool was not heated. Be careful when you book at discounted rates. They will charge you extra for things like heating the pool which is part of the room package.
We agreed to pay to heat it up. Then they are saying there is some fault with the royal villa pool. Now my mother was cannot walk has to take the stairs to the regent villa pool to watch the kids in the pool.
Food is very average in the restaurant and service is slow.
This is my day two. Let’s see how the experience gets better or worse in the next two days.

Superb location, spacious rooms.restaurant is bit expensive but hotel is 100% worth.now m fan of Mayfair group of hotels.

The ambiance of the place was extraordinarily beautiful, and the nature surrounding it made staying there worth it.

Nice ambience. As the covid cases hasn't decreased yet, we literally had the restaurant for ourselves. I enjoyed the welcome drink and dessert. The main course I didn't enjoy much as it wasn't noteworthy. The dessert was gulab Jamon. I couldn't identify the welcome drink but it was good. We sat in the balcony which had a good view of the hills.

Undoubtedly the best Hotel & Spa in town. The ambience is charming with a royal touch and the food is simply awesome. The personalised service by Mr Pradhan and Mr Niranjan is highly appreciated
If one wants class and quality, Mayfare is strongly recommended.

5-Star hotel with all facilities. Great ambience. Good quality food. Very well behaved staffs. Excellent hospitality.
Swimming pool, casino what else are required. Feel relaxed during every visit

If it is luxury that you need, mayfair should be your first choice. I was here in 2019 and the experience was surreal. It is a bit far from MG Road but then the Road of Rhumtek Monastry goes opposite to the entrance of the Resort. The place has dripping luxury from all ends and you would not have ang thing to complain as you reach Mayfair. Their Darjeeling resort is Great too. Would recommend this to anyone who is willing to pay for devine luxury.

Good Hospitality. Food and drinks available at very affordable prices. Healthy environment and you will get some positive vibes there. One less star for the limited verities of dishes.

Now talking about my experience about Mayfair was just to play as I took a different hotel for stay now going there to play casino, the first thing you will need is your I’d proof so don’t forget to carry along and lastly you luck plays all the roll.

Amazing experience. Was here to attend a wedding. Ambience.food.everything is great. Lot of thought to detail. Really enjoyed this outing. Once again.in the near future!

Worth staying here. Amazing resort, very good for relaxation. Lots of options in room selection in regards to pocket pinch.

I am a kind of a person who would not give a bad rating to a hotel or a restaurant. But on this instance I am going out of the way to write this review, Mayfair gangtok is a self proclaimed “5 STAR” hotel. I would not even give it a 4 star rating at best its a 3 star hotel at a good location and greenery. Some of the reasons I was not happy about my stay here:

1. I arrived here on February 12th and stayed for 3 nights, from day 1 I constantly tried to contact the spa regarding a reservation for myself and my spouse, 3-4 times the spa did not answer and when I walked to the spa, their response was we don’t have any appointments available for you. They did offer me an appointment on my day of departure but I couldn’t use it because it would interfere with my other travel plans. They should not claim this place to be “Mayfair Spa & Resort” in their name.
2. The staff is not very professional and lacks english speaking ability.
3. Food taste is not good, and quality seemed average.
4. Not a very significant aspect for some people, but the male staff at the buffet was dressed in formal attire while female staff were dressed in traditional sikkimese attire.
5. Customer service is not at all at par with other 5 star properties in India, not even comparable to 4 star hotels I have stayed.

Few good things about this hotel- Landscaping is well maintained, hotel entrance is great and they have some good aquariums and fishes.

It gives you a feel of 5 star.
Food is over rated while ambiance is awesome.
Service is great, always ready to help.
Overall 4 star for sure.

It was okay for an experience but would not recommend of you are not into gambling. Small space and too humid.

Property is awesome situated in a sprawling forest. Rooms are extra spacious having independent terrace, where you can relish the nature. Each block and villa is situated at different levels extend you complete privacy.
Food is prepared Dil se and spread is lavish in buffet spoiling you with choice of continental, oriental and Indian cuisine.
Staff is courteous whether it is Srishti at reception, Srijana and Dhanmaya at restaurent and Chandan Thakur as GM. Always willing to listen you with smile.
Thanks for making our stay memorable in spite of extremely bad weather.

We went there for the casino. The entry fees was rs 3000 in which we got 1000 rs worth playing coins. The buffet was not good and the service was not at all 5 star service. One good point was they do offer your drop facilities.

Amazing place for casino, can't say about staying in rooms as we've not entered in hotel premises, but casino is wow, budget friendly entrance fee, well behaved staff, easy coordination and effective. Would prefer coming again, everything available here includes drinks, smoking area, clean and odour free washrooms.

The service is slower than watching a grass grow. The checking time is 2.00pm. We have been waiting for an hour (3.00pm now) and we have been allocated any room. They asked us if we would like tea or coffee and, that didn't arrive either. The property is great though.
