Yellow Sapphire, Premium Sikkimese Homestay

Dawa (the homestay owner) arranged a three-day itinerary for me when I visited Gangtok. She had been recommended to me via another homestay host I'd been staying with in Darjeeling.

Dawa's attention to detail was impeccable and she went over and above to make sure I was happy. The Government trained guide she arranged for me, Lakpa Tshering, was a delight. He was polite, a lot of fun, and knowledgeable. She also ensured I had a competent and safe driver.

To give you an idea of the integrity of people Dawa uses, the driver dropped me off in Siliguri as I had to catch my flight the next day. It had been a busy three-day tour in Gangtok, so I was exhausted. The driver called me about 20 minutes after dropping me off and told me he had my camera. I'm a photographer, so this is an essential piece of equipment. I'd forgotten entirely that I had left it on the backseat of his car. He drove all the way back to the guesthouse to drop it off. A lesser person would not; worse still, it could have been stolen.

Whether you stay at Dawa's Homestay (which I will do next time I visit Sikkim) or whether Dawa arranges a touring itinerary for you, I cannot recommend her services enough.

We had a great experience staying at this homestay as it is located at a very peaceful place where I enjoyed the walk and cycling in the morning. Also the hospitality was very good with spacious room which was really good than staying at a small hotel room. I would love to visit again
