Worst branch of saravana bhavan. Bad customer service, forcing to order a particular food. Had a worst experience.

The only branch where the taste is maintained nowadays. Sambhar and Dosa was a pure feast for us! The place area is reduced now which makes a feel like a cramped environment!
Otherwise for Saravana Bhavan lovers this branch is a must visit place Green chutney is one of my favourites don’t miss it!

Cost is too high for the quality and quantity of food served here. Greedy people.should ditch this restaurant for their greediness.

Waiter is too rude. This is third time. Finally decided that not visit this restaurant at all. Someone take serious action.

Breakfast timing shouldn't following. Kindy maintainthe timings. Everything received from centralized KITCHEN only. Except coffee dosa appam.

Food is not upto the mark. For the name and for its legacy we get into this hotel and the taste was not up to the mark. It is located in the main place and many people who visit Vadapalani murugan temple will come here for dine in.but it's taste is worst.

Order meals for about 30 members, but we had only 20, we insisted for a takeaway but for that they asked for extra charges. Also we asked to pack for some leftovers, for that also they asked for additional charges and they refused to pack. Cleaning and serving staffs are polite but the supervisors are not even know how to treat a customer. Worst ever hospitality. Food quantity and quality was good and sufficient.

Nice food, as usual they keeps their quality in food taste.
Needs to improve in cleaning.

The new Saravana bhavan located on the main road is quite small in capacity and you're lucky if you spot a space for car parking in here. They do have a small bakery setup too and provide parcel and dining. The wash area is definitely something they should consider re-doing.

Decent middle class hotel with high price it's better if they lower down the price they charge for every item otherwise it's a good place to dine inn.

Good food

But waiter or so called serving person and order taker not so bothered about customer service

Just getting the food and putting it on the table. I would choose self service for this.

If you're planning for marriage ceremony in Vadapalani temple please don't blindly choose Saravana Bhavan for food service because of their branding. Else you will face below consequences as we faced.
Its not like the food which they serve for dine in customers.
They charged 210 bucks per Head for breakfast (Almost the same price in dine in menu) but
WORST FOOD! POOR SERVICE! WAST OF MONEY! AWFUL EXPERIENCE FOR GUESTS.

Worst supply and not interested in serving the customer better not go here if your hungry ordered food was at 1pm and got by 2pm and no menu card where given horrible service staffs are at their worst service of food. Better go to other hotels nearby than this hotel

The food doesn't taste the same anymore and the service is pathetic. I have been wrongly billed and when I pointed out to the service man he did not even bother to apologise.

Here, before it was a self service one but now they serving.ample parking facility is available.
It contains different items in the name of combo.u have to choose the correct combo because less main dish and more of side dish.so don't get confuse while choosing.
Meals also available for dinner.u can get more rasam, sambar etc without charge.
Finally, pls don't opt for ice cream.its not tasty at all.
The service is superb.here, the kadai subji is good in taste.try it.

Everything was OK not at its best, 14 Idly, my all time favourite food at HSB was not even near to the ones which I have tasted previously.
Staff were very polite and kind, that got the three stars for them.
Dessert was a let down too.
I dropped in to have a great meal but came out with a good feel but an empty stomach.
If I had something to say to the restaurant I I'd request them to focus on quality of the food and make it more lovable.
There was a personal touch to the food that I had with HSB earlier and it seems that they have lost it.
Would love to be back, if they set things right.

Self service is much better with HSB foods always nice. Spme Waiters are poor, and spoiling the hotel's hard earned reputation. But love it as always.

Couldn't find the classic Saravana bhavan flavour but still comparatively better than many other chain restaurants in the city.

Pathetic service. The restaurant is not at all customer friendly. Sitting there, one feels totally unwanted but the business. The staff absolutely has no interest in serving the people. 15 minutes and there was no sign of any staff member willing to approach. No menu was served. A renowned name, maybe, but service is pathetic. Mr. Sivalingam, the most hopeless person in the management was least bothered and went off without even listening to the complaint. Highy pathetic service. Not recommended at all

I was in for breakfast at 11: 30 and nothing except dosa and kichdi was available. And i couldn't believe when the bill came, coffee was 45 bucks! The one star is for the service which was the only solace.

This restaurant is slowly losing its taste.

Pongal was cold and Vada was hard.

Management needs to take a look at this and needs Improvement.

Service is good, but the taste is not up to the mark.

The only thing I liked here is Coffee.

Very friendly waiter uncle and supervisor Mr. Balachander.
I had a very bad sore throat and Mr. Balachander helped me by preparing hot water with salt.
Really kind of him.
Delicious food with good price.

The water quality was worse. They will give you dirty salty water and force you to buy the water bottle. Staffs will ignore you if you ask them to change the dirty water. Price of the food is moderate. You can't say this place is cheap. Because of the water quality I'm suspicious because they may use that dirty water for cooking purpose or for making juice. I would never go to that place again.

I'm feeling that they r little bit compromising their quality, but they keeping their high price. All the food were packed in plastic covers. Only suggestion for them is kindly use banana leaf before placing into plastic cover.

Worst treatment by a lady at the sambar parcel counter in the ground floor at Saravana Bhavan (Vadapalani Branch) inspite of delayed delivery. Do take the immediate right action on it.

When think of Chennai eateries, hsb comes to mind, though there are lot Many restaurants are available.
The quality has come down, prices r gone up as rocket high.
Tea cost here 35 bucks, almost the same price of a litter of row milk

As we know that food is good in saravana bhavan.but what all expect with good food is better service, which is not provided here.very worst class service.if in other hotel it takes 10mins means, here u will have to spend 45mins minimum.unless u beg to 3-4waiters they will not take ur order.management is poor.it's not that waiters n supervisors are less here.but the thing is they get crowd, so they don't bother about customer service.be happy with what has been served, don't expect more chutney or sambhar etc.then u will have to wait for another half n hour.

Vadapalani HSB is quite OK.
However it's bit crowded in afternoon, as it is near to famous temple.
Taste OK
Quantity also OK.

The quality of the food is bad. We pay the premium price for the food only assuming that the quality is going to be good. When I ordered for thair vadai, the waiter could have told me they are out of boondhi or they have only old stock of boondhi. But instead he brought me a plate of stale thair vadai and tried to force it on me. Very bad.
