Melgiri cricket ground provides a decent place for cricket enthusiasts to play and enjoy the sport. The first ground is always well-maintained and in high demand, often hosting high-level tournaments. However, the second ground's outfield leaves much to be desired. In my personal experience of playing three matches there, the grass was tall and hindered the ball's speed from reaching the boundary. On a positive note, the ground offers a spacious pavilion, providing a comfortable area for players and spectators.
One of the standout aspects of Melgiri cricket ground is its affordability. The fees are pocket-friendly, allowing players from different backgrounds to enjoy the facility. To further enhance the experience, it would be beneficial if the owner installs a directional board at the turning point on the main road leading to the ground. This would help visitors find the location more easily and improve accessibility.
Overall, Melgiri cricket ground is a satisfactory venue for cricket matches. With a well-maintained first ground, though a poorly maintained second ground, and a spacious pavilion, it caters to the needs of cricket enthusiasts. The pocket-friendly fees make it accessible to a wide range of players. Adding a directional board at the turning point would be a valuable improvement for visitors seeking the ground.
Pitch was good, but the outfield is filled with complete grass which obstructs the ball speed, Water facility is there, I'll not suggest for the glace ball matches.
Review for Melgiri2. Its pretty bad, the ground is decent abt 55 m boundaries, but bounce is barely over the knees.very badly maintained near the boundaries and even the wickets were all old, cracked and broken. Weeds growing all over the ground.
I have booked and played in Melgiri Cricket Ground 2 (4 April 2021) and it was pathetic ground that ever played. One side out field was in water and no ground stuff was available to answer the same. Very poor maintenance and the pitch was uneven.
The melgiri 1 ground has been renovated and its looks great and big and probably one of the best grounds available currently if its maintained this way. The wicket is new and is a little low in bounce when it comes to afternoon slots especially on Sundays but hopefully that should improve in the coming days.
