I have been learning here since June. And I really appreciate how mama takes time to teach each adavu with precision. It's amazing how he understands each body type and encourages us to push ourselves more for better performance. V happy and blessed to be a part of this beautiful natyalaya.

I am a student at Shri Narayani Natyalaya and have the privilege of learning under the guidance of my Guru, Shri Santosh Kumar Tamang, fondly addressed as 'Mama. ' He is exceptionally talented and an immensely dedicated teacher. My journey here has been incredibly transformative, enriching my naatya profoundly.

The atmosphere in the class radiates warmth, positivity, and a deep respect for the traditional dance form. Mama’s extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to preserving the authenticity of Bharatnatyam are truly praiseworthy. Santosh Kumar Thamang is one of the best Guru, i have been seen in my life. My daughter is learning Bharatnatyam dance since past 4 years and with her Guru blessing she is performing well all the steps perfectly. He sticks to the dance and put his 100 % efforts to make sure each and every students perform the dance in perfection.you can not image how students do practices in repetitive manner to get this perfection in the stage. Now a days geting this type of Guru very rair who also teach students how to follow decepilline and respect to each others. Dance school is very small but its fill with lot of love, devotions and tradition that you will fill like its a small temple where all the time Mata Saraswati geting workship with turmeric, kumkum and lamp. A role model teacher who balances his love for his students while being a strict disciplinarian at the same time.

I have attended the arengetram performance of Avani Kashyap disciple of Guru Shri Santosh Kumar Tamang mama. It was a mesmerizing performance, with a perfect blend of Nritta and Nritya. The variation of choreography always had a surprise element. Her performance was clear, clean and captivating. Amazing coordination between musicians, vocal, lights and dance. Masterful choreography and exceptional execution left us with a transcendental experience.

Last Saturday (March 11,2023) we have witnessed our niece, Avani Upasana Kashyap’s grand Bharatha Natyam arangetram at Shilpa kala vedike, Hyderabad. It was mesmerising to watch Avani transform into an amazing Dancer. Thanks to her Guru. Shree Santosh Kumar Thamang, Shree Narayani Natyalaya, Hyderabad for a decade of handholding, teaching and support. Guru Shree Santhosh’s contribution is immense in transforming Avani into an accomplished dancer at the tender age of 15.kudos to Avani and Pranams to Shree Santosh Kumar Thamang Sir …

I have seen a number of programs. Enjoyed all the performances of the students of Narayani Natyalaya. The dances are very traditional, pure and flawless. Would love to watch many more. Guru Santosh Kumar is doing a wonderful job in preserving Bharathanatyam in its true traditional form

I have known Shri Santosh Thamang Garu for the past 9 years through a friend. I have seen my friend's daughter learning from Thamang Garu and I am totally mesmerized how beautifully she had learnt the skill from her guru. Thamang Garu is a very devoted teacher. We recently watched her performance and she has excelled under the guidance of Thamang Garu.

Shree Narayani Natyalaya is a great place to learn traditional methodology of Bharatnatyam. I am learning here since 4 years. Santhosh Kumar Tamang guru is very sincere about his teaching, we (Students) call him "Mama" to feel more effection towards guru. I am coming from the distance of 35 km to learn Bharatnatyam from him, because of his teaching methodology. As a teacher he understands the student and teach the student accordingly. He love his students and teach how to be discipline and also kind in nature.

Arangetram is something that is a life time oppurtunity, I am so blessed and fortunate to have witnessed the arangetram of my best friend asmita, and it was really the best performance that i had ever seen in my life. Santhosh mama, as his students fondly call him is the founder of the Natyalaya, he is not just a fantastic dancer but also an amazing Guru who trains his students to excel in the Bharatanatyam dance form. The Natyalaya works in a gurukulam format, where the master focuses on overall grooming of the students with special attention to Indian culture and traditions. I say this is because mama insists that all his students follow a certain decorum and a set of good behavior during and after the class which inculcates good manners and rich values in them. He also patiently guides them on the same and takes the time out to explain the meaning of each tradition that is followed, a Guru in his truest form.
