Must visit place in Hyderabad. The palace tour was very informative. Food and service was upto the mark. Stay was very comfortable. Pro tip for breakfast: Don't sit outside, service was very slow outside however it improved drastically once we moved inside the restaurant

Superb place and one that everyone should visit just for the experience. Right from the horse cart driven carriage (yes, vehicles not allowed beyond a point) to the guided tour of the palace and finally, the dinner.everything is so very immaculate and royal that you will get mesmerized.

I haven't got to stay in their hotel yet. But perhaps very soon

Went for high tea today and had a great time. Everything from start to finish was a 5 star experience. Will go again.

Excellent service and view. I go at dinner there but I am vegetarian so may be taste varies person to person.
But at the end I don't like deserts even no one from 8 of my friends ate them where as 6 were Non-veg.

Amazing palace.
One of the beautiful experiences you can have at this place is the evening call to prayer (Maghrib Azaan). Just come outside in open area around 6: 30 pm, you will listen Azaan from 100s of surrounding Masjids in Old city

"Royalty at its peak" A fine blend of English and Nizami style architecture. Older than 13 Decades, This Palace spread in 45 Acres of Land, boasts of lust green landscapes & grand sculptures, sections and mesmerizing interiors which are well thought, scientifically placed & constructed. The Jade Room, The dining room, The portraits, the staircase Gallery and fabulous ceiling and floor work is a view to behold. One can stay here to experience the Glory of it, or for a shorter experience, one can opt for High Tea+Guided tour which costs Rs. 3,500.00 + T per person. One should make an advance booking.

The only thing where one has to be fortunate is to have knowledgeable & enthusiastic tour guide. Unfortunately the tour guide we had didnt seem to be enthusiastic enough to provide detailed information about a lot of things, Thankfully our host and friend was with us, just because she had visited the palace earlier on couple of occasions, she could tell us a lot more what she had learned from her previous tours, which was more than what our guide told us.

We visited for an afternoon High Tea and spent the most memorable evening at the Taj. The staff was courteous and extended very warm hospitality. The view was simply incomparable and we stayed till twilight to enjoy sunset from the garden.

The high tea had an eclectic yet extensive spread. Make sure you take your time to enjoy it.

If u r staying there u will be treated like Royal couples and if u just visiting it then have a trip around the palace and click pics of peacocks and return. The guide who took us around was young but dumb and was not able to pull the crowd as he should be doing. He was also not able to replies to queries if anything was asked. The guide intension was to finish the trip (which as an Indian not not very impressive as I have seen better in Rajasthan) without much time to waste on questions.

We visited the Falaknuma for lunch and we chose the set menu as it seemed to give a taste of all the things we wanted to try.

Right from the entry, you are transported to a different era. 'Aadab' is the greeting you will receive from all the staff and it means 'Greetings' you can respond with 'Tasleem'. The Falaknuma palace tour we had after the lunch was worthwhile, it is led by Faiz saab who is the erstwhile head of security for the Nizam and is now employed by Taj to give the tour. If you understand Hindi or Urdu I would urge you to take this tour as some of the sayings mentioned during the tour are lost in translation.

Finally we come to the food, the set menu consisted of a soup/shorba, a mix of veg and non veg appetizers (3 to 5), a palate cleanser sorbet, a mix of veg and non veg curries, Naan breads in different styles, Hyderabadi Biryani with salan & raita and finally four different kinds of desserts. Each course is served with intervals of time so that you get to enjoy the flavors of food and have a conversation with your table mates.

A definite visit if you are in Hyderabad!

Attended an engagement function. The place was superb. Staff were very courteous. Food was very nice.

An exquisitely designed palace matched with phenomenal hospitality and upkeep. Visited here post wave 2 of covid and was delighted to note that the maintenance was still on point. The rooms are spacious, elegantly designed and with every luxury one could imagine. Turn down service includes drawing a scented hot bath every evening as well.

The hotel has two restaurants and I'd highly recommend opting for the curated Hyderabadi meal!

Beautiful place with the most beautiful view. I went there for dinner on my birthday. Kudos to the staff for arranging everything so well. The hospitality was on point. We were served by Shreyas, he was very polite and made all the major arrangements for the surprise birthday. Food tasted delicious and the qawwali night was a big add on.

If you are visiting make sure that you meet Chef Prabhjeet Singh and discuss your food preferences with him. Rest leave it on Elizabeth to take care and help you sought your Breakfast plans. Once you are done with Breakfast let Nasir and his team guide you thru the day to help you get the maximum out of your stay. Sudhakar will be on his toes throughout the day to make your stay and food memorable. If you are celebrating something please let Priya know about it and she will manage everything with Shreyas for you without you even breaking sweat.

Very very bad hospitality behaviour from the staff. Even though it is a good place because of the harsh communication response from the staffs, i will not recommend anyone to this place. Management should take a look on this.

We had the worst experience of our life here. I would strongly suggest against visiting this place. The property is beautiful but thats about it. The service is horrible, after informing the restaurant about your food preferences in advance they would be clueless when you arrive for your meal. I was made to wait 25 mins even after I had a reservation in place. The food arrived after another 25 mins. The horror doesn’t end here. While you would have paid part payment in advance while making your reservation they will charge your credit card for the full payment and then claim they didn’t receive the advance (while at the booking they say the booking will confirm upon part payment). The staff is all words and no actions. I have been charged 50% more than the amount I was supposed to pay and Still await the refund of 50% additional amount. No follow ups from the restaurant. Go there only to see the property. Would suggest strongly against dinning in or staying at the hotel.

Brilliant stay at a much loved place! Celebrated my birthday with a few days of getting pampered and indulged at this gem of a palace-turned-exquisie hotel. The architecture and art are incredible but then I had visited the palace as a teenager so it was wonderful to revive those memories.

Only the Taj and the descendants of the Nizams could have collaborated and lovingly restored the Falakhnuma. Thank you for all the cakes, flowers, the special arrangements…. You made the Falakhnuma mine for those few days!

I want to thank all staff, the librarian, the chefs, housekeeping, security, the gardeners, our drivers… have I left out anyone? If so, my apologies. And thank you for caring so much that you even sent me an old pair of tweezers I’d left behind, not realizing it until your couriered parcel arrived!

It was an absolute pleasure being in the palace for lunch at Adaa restaurant. Loved the cuisine, the service and of course the exclusive colonial touch that is given to each and every corner of the palace.
A place that will make you fall in love and take you back to the good old nizam time!

As per comments by other travellers, the level of service is unique. A standard of their own. Alongside the service, the cuisine, the care of the gardens and the flower arrangements are also unique.

It's a place where you can know about lots of things about history of that palace and you can see each and every view clearly from the palace and it will be wonderful and great experience to see from the palace the view of the city and we can get more information about that palace.

Good experience, good for spending quality time with family or peers. Food tastes OK, not extraordinary as compared to the price charged. After dinner, the guide took us to show around the palace in a cart, that was really great experience. Best part was, during our dinner few artists case for singing 'kawali'. Overall nice experience.

It is situated upon the hill, from there one can have the beautiful view of the whole city. I must say it's the natural air conditioner, with the breeze of fresh air along with awesome fragrance made a soothing effect on us.

An absolutely wonderful experience, from beginning to end.

The royal experience begins with you being escorted to the palace building in a tram affording you the sights and sounds of animals and birds in the yard.

Once we reached the palace building, we were allowed to spend some there and soak in the feel of the palace atmosphere and take pictures. The palace tour took us to various rooms and halls of the emperors with detailed explanations about each which was quite insightful. We were glad we reached in time for the tour as it is something you don't get to see or experience everyday. They had music in the garden before our dinner that was absolutely brilliant. To be there, under the stars, with this wonderful music was just magical. The garden, swimming pool, spa, dinning halls, staircase everything has such an old world charm. The welcome by the hotel in the horse carriage followed by showering of fresh rose petals makes you so special.

Finally, As we left the premises, there was sense of a evening well spent. The palace is magnificent, and the daily tours are wonderful. The grounds are spectacular, the rooms are exceptional, the staff is lovely. It is unlike anything or anywhere we've experienced.

I went for a leisure trip with my family for 2 days at Taj Falaknuma Palace. The hospitality was great. They give you the most royal treatment which we had never experienced before: You enter through the Palace in royal cart followed by welcome drinks and royal walk with rose petals showered on you. The morning buffet breakfast is amazing and Prakash on our request also arranged for special food dishes which made us relish the food all the more. There is Sufi and Qawali performances in the evening to entertain the guests and the special Palace tour for residents. You get to know about the history of the palace. I recommend to take the palace tour on the first day of stay to enjoy each section of the palace on following days. There is a golf course as well where we tried golf for the first time, Peacock feeding, etc. There are various activities which would keep you occupied throughout the day and enjoy your stay. For evening dinner we went to Adaa the Mughlai restaurant which served us the best Dal Makhani I have ever tasted. Overall an amazing experience for me and my family. Special thanks to Gautham for attending to us throughout our stay and making it the most comfortable one. Would surely recommend stay at Taj Falaknuma Palace to all!

Experience at Taj Falaknuma palace is just remarkable. The royal entrance and the royal service given is truly a blessing for the hotel. Experience in the night is different as the view is limited but the lights are magistic. And experience in the day time is different due to the fact that we can see Charminar, Golkonda etc from the hotel. Try their restaurants Adaa and Celeste. Also their Hi-tea which needs prior reservation.

Falaknuma is a palace in Hyderabad, Telangana,  India.  It belonged to the Paigah family, and was later owned by the Nizam of Hyderabad. It is on a 32-acre (13 ha) area in Falaknuma, 5 kilometers from Charminar. It was built by Nawab Sir Viqar-ul-umra - Prime Minister of Hyderabad and the uncle & brother-in-law of the sixth Nizam. Falak-numa means "Like the Sky" or "Mirror of the Sky" in Urdu.

An English architect designed the palace. The foundation stone for the construction was laid by Sir Vicar on 3 March 1884; he was the maternal grandson of Mir Akbar Ali Khan Sikander Jah, Asaf Jah III of Hyderabad. It took nine years to complete the construction and furnish the palace. Sir Vicar moved into the Gol Bangla and Zanana Mahel of the Falaknuma Palace in December 1890 and closely monitored the finishing work at the Mardana portion. It is made completely with Italian marble with stained-glass windows and covers an area of 1,011,500 square feet.

The palace was built in the shape of a scorpion with two stings spread out as wings in the north. The middle part is occupied by the main building and the kitchen,  Gol Bangla,  Zenana Mehal, and harem quarters stretch to the south. The Nawab was an avid traveler, and his influences show in the architecture, which combines Italian and Tudor influences

Sir Viqar-ul-Umra, the Prime Minister of Hyderabad, used the palace as his private residence until the palace was handed over to the 6th Nizam of Hyderabad around 1897-1898. His monogram is on the furniture, walls and ceiling of the palace.

The palace was built and furnished at a cost of four million rupees, which necessitated borrowing money from the Bank of Bengal. In the spring of 1897, the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad Mir Mahbub Ali Khan was invited to stay at the palace. He extended his stay to a week, then a fortnight, and then a month, which prompted Sir Viqar to offer it to him. The Nizam accepted but paid some of the value of the palace; the Paigah family maintains that around 20 lakh rupees was paid.

The Nizam used the palace as a guest house for the royal guests visiting the kingdom of Hyderabad. The list of royal visitors included King George V,  Queen Mary,  Edward VIII andTsar Nicholas II.

The palace fell into disuse after the 1950's. The last important guest was the President of India,  Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in 1951.

The palace was then restored after being leased by the Taj Group of Hotels; the restoration, which began in 2010, was managed by Princess Esra, the first wife of Mukarram Jah.

One of the highlights of the palace is the state reception room, where the ceiling is decorated with frescoes. The ballroom contains a two-ton manually operated organ said to be the only one of its kind in the world.
The palace has 60 rooms and 22 halls. It has considerable collections of the Nizam'sartifacts including paintings, statues, furniture, manuscripts, books, an extensive jade collection, and Venetian chandeliers. It has a library with a carved walnut roof, a replica of the one at Windsor Castle; it had an extensive collection of Qurans.
The dining hall can seat 101 guests. The chairs are made of carved rosewood with green leather upholstery.

Burroughs and Watts from England designed two identical billiards tables, one of which is in Buckingham Palace and the other in the palace's billiards room.

The palace was the private property of the Nizam family, and not normally open to the public, until 2000.

Every single detail is well thought out from the moment you drive up to the gate.
This is not only one of the most beautiful palaces I have ever visited but is also expertly managed and maintained by Taj.
I brought my mother for lunch (you have to have a reservation to even enter) for her birthday and although it could be seen as pricey for India (4500 per person minimum spend) I believe it offered incredible value for money and was well spent.
All the staff are incredibly professional and hospitable. I can't praise them enough.
After lunch you are invited to join the heritage tour where you can see some of the beautifully preserved rooms.

It was a great experience going around the sprawling palace. Right from the entrance where a horse ridden buggy awaits you till the sumptuous meal that we had. Everything was worth an experience to cherish for a long time. Unmatched hospitality with great amount of history. Memorable experience.
