Going to Uwezo for 4+ years, I enjoyed working with the faculty and teachers on my college apps as well as SAT coaching. Everyone was open to helping me anytime of the week and would push me to provide the best essays that I can. I also got an immense boost in my extracurriculars while being at Uwezo. Uwezo definitely had a large impact on my college decisions and helped make my college aspirations a reality!

Hello, my name is Deekshitha Paruchuri, and I am a freshman at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I learned about Uwezo from a friend, and at first I wasn't sure if I wanted to work on my applications on my own or with the assistance of a consultant, but my parents and I talked about it before committing, and that's when we realized there's a lot more to it than we thought, and that it would be better if we had help because we didn't know anyone else who could guide us. They offered SAT classes, IELTS/TOEFL classes, application assistance, advice on which college is best for you, and even visa interview preparation. I've heard of many consultancies that simply do the work for students, such as writing essays and applying to colleges, but Uwezo was so honest and respectful of the entire process that they made the student learn so much in the process rather than just blindly following everything. This reduced the likelihood of getting into trouble, and when I say trouble, I mean long-term trouble, so I believe that honesty is the best policy, as does Uwezo. I am extremely grateful to Uwezo for everything they have done for me. I am now a student at one of the most prestigious schools in the United States, which is paving a great path for my future, and I truly believe that I would not be able to do so without the assistance of Uwezo. I would wholeheartedly recommend Uwezo to anyone in need of professional assistance.

Let me start my clarifying that I meant recommendation for colleges and not actual letter of recommendations; I am not blaming Uwezo for letters that my teachers wrote.
Secondly, I agree with you that my score would've been much better if I had followed Uwezo's guidance of taking mocks, practices, etc. In fact, that is the point I make in the review above: "thing that helped me the most from uwezo was probably the fact that I always had a schedule because of them. " I am just communicating that most of the resources you use to teach students are available online for free (cracksat, khanacademy, etc) and one needs Uwezo's help for keeping him/her on track. I found later that the tests that were given were readily available online and there are tons of youtube videos which explained exactly what you taught. The only difference was that I was held accountable when I was mentored by Uwezo, which is a good thing.
Next, I agree that it was my fault that I did not complete the application. Let me clarify what I was trying to say in my review earlier: Just telling someone to make a complicated app should not cost so much money. Anyone could've told me to make an app, but it is the guidance which I paid money for. When I needed help with certain parts of the project, I didn't get any help. I understand that the project has to be my own work. My concern only lies when you charge students to make projects without any guidance in the actual process of making the app. Just giving extracurricular ideas was not worth the money I spend in my opinion.
I've talked to friends who did everything you asked them to do and still not get in their top choice, but of course this does not mean they speculate that things would've been different if Uwezo had proper execution on their part. I understand building complex apps is the only way to get into top schools, but it is possible to make complex apps without Uwezo's help, since they don't actually help you with the process of making the app.

In retrospect, perhaps this was a harsh review, but it is the truth. I have not presented any false information in my review and hopefully I clarified that in this review. I respect Uwezo as a company and I'm glad I got to work with them. But like I said before, I am not the only person who had such experience; many of my friends did too.

It is always very difficult to find right institution for coaching and I am pretty happy to find Uwezo. I am very thankful to Uwezo, who has focused on competencies along with skills, which is quite unnatural for institutions in this business.

During the first couple of english lessons, we had an amateur teacher who would rarely answer our questions correctly and gave explanations verbatim from the practice books. In fact, most of our practice exams and tests were available online for free. I am not saying that its wrong - it just wasn't worth the money if the answers and explanations are available online. However, my score did improve dramatically. The thing that helped me the most from uwezo was probably the fact that I always had a schedule because of them.ig self-discipline does cost a lot ;). In conclusion, there is no need for sat prep if you have the dedication and time-management skills. Khanacademy, Erica Meltzer books, and youtube do a great job of preparing you FOR FREE.

Since I was applying abroad for the first time and didn't know anything, I also decided to take uwezo's service for college apps as well. It started with a small survey, which was futile later on. I think it was just to show that they were onto something when, in reality, they weren't. My friends and I got similar college recos and there was no personalization. The essay editing was helpful for sure, but I am sure there are much cheaper options available for just essay editing. Also, my resume wasn't looking great, so I asked Raj sir for help with that as well. This cost 25k or smth, but the only thing he told me was "make this app" there was no guidance.no resources. Absolutely nothing. If it costs 25k to start making an app, that looks like a splendid opportunity. Overall, I paid about 1.2 lacs approx for something that was worth 20k max imho (including sat and tutoring.)
When I got my results, the only thing he told me was that it was up to me to pick a college. I was expecting an organized list of pros and cons of each college, fee, rankings, major requirements, future prospects comparison, but I didnt get any of that. So, I spent another 2 weeks of my time doing something I paid them to do for me. Although it does count as "help with deciding colleges' ' as the invoice stated, I don't think it's worth the money, or the patience to deal with the service being provided.

Overall, my experience was mediocre.

To understand if I was the only one with such experience, I even asked other friends at oakridge, but they had a bad experience too. I really wish someone had informed me about this before. Regardless, this was my experience (mediocre in one word) and I hope you have a better experience.
For uwezo: please try to improve your services because ive asked 20 people and they all said they had bad experience with sat and college apps.maybe it is good for post grad.for viewers: Please pick any consulting service carefully because sometimes the reviews can be misleading

Uwezo Learning is a great place to prepare for the SAT. Their staff is expert in getting students ready for the same and has great notes which are helpful in preparation. They conduct regular tests and assessments which help us cover our weak points. The counselors pay attention to individual and help them resolve their problems. Overall, a great place to study with a good environment and supporting staff that guides you through everything.

Uwezo has been a useful partner for SAT training.they provide good resources and worksheets for every topic and the teachers are patient and clarify the doubts.i went for their SAT classes last year.

I was searching for SAT training in Gachibowli and came across Uwezo. Since I started my coaching here, I have seen a huge progress in myself in all subjects. I had been a part of the Peace of Mind Program (POM) for all of high school. I can confidently say that POM and Uwezo played no small part in my IGCSE and IB grades that I'm quite proud of. I'm also sure it played a big part of me getting into my dream school.

But I think the single biggest thing I got from POM was the habit of reading. I remember reading Crime and Punishment in the 9th grade and thinking about it in the discussion sessions. Now, I always travel with at-least 1 book in my backpack and.a couple in my suitcase.
