Bamboo Cafe failed miserably in delivering on its promises. The quality of the food was shockingly poor. The bread or naan, supposedly a staple done right in any eatery, was a nauseating disaster. The mismatch between their proclaimed 'homemade' quality and the dismal reality of taste and pricing was a grave disappointment. I advise potential diners to steer clear unless they have an affinity for dreadful food and an inclination to waste money on falsely advertised meals.
We came for breakfast, very warm welcome. Family restaurant with affordable prices. There is everything, Indian and European food which gives you a choice
We came here after the recommendation of our hotel, but neither of us had good food. The macaroni were overcooked and sauce was not good, naan bread was soggy and not very tasteful as well.
The taste of the rice was good, but I am forced to write a review at the end.wrote? Wrote? Wrote? I was asked this over and over again and it made me feel very uncomfortable. I think that people who want to write reviews should write them when they want to write them. I think it's better to stop forcing things.
Very nice place with great service. It’s restaurant in home, you can watch your food being cooked by house owners. Ordered veg fried rice - taste ok, quantity seem less for 150 Indian breakfast - 2 paratha and tea, For 150. Cost effective and authentic just taste ok. Veg soup - good just with less veggies for 100.
You can try it if nearby for hospitality and seeing how Indian make food at home.
Delicious, authentic home-made food, unlike any restaurant I’ve eaten at. The cafe is adjacent to the owners’ home, food is cooked by the mother. They are very welcoming and open to customize your food, e.g. If you can’t take spice. We also had some heartwarming conversations with the family. Wonderful experience!
Imagine going to your grandmothers house, she welcomes you and sits you down while she goes off to make you dinner. When the food comes it may not be the best presented food but you know it’s tasty and made from the heart. Then you leave with warm full tummies.
That is what this place is, freshly homemade how you like it. We liked it so much we came back a second time.
The ambience was just like my house. The food was freshly prepared to our request of non spicy for my in laws. It was served by the husband and cooked by the wife. Such warm and humble people. The food was delicious and would recommend every one to go there. They deserve a 5 Star rating everytime.
Perfect home made food! We ordered French style banana chocolate pancakes, cheese tomato sandwich, cheese omelette and masala tea. All was perfect! It took 15-20 mins to serve all dishes, we are happy
This is a great restaurant. The food is booked to your spice level, you can see the chef cook your food! During our 4 days in Agra we only ate here. A great variety as well.
A excellent place in Agra, having had food from regular places during our trip in India we felt like at home when we were here. Super hygienic food prepared in front of the eyes in a home kitchen. The hospitality was brilliant and it was some quality time spent at this small family business. It is definitely a 10/10 for me and would recommend anyone who wants to experience home food in a home setup.
Excellent restaurant, it's really home made food with fabulous taste. Only 2 person in kitchen prepare food in front of us once we order. All the items are made fresh, chicken also prepared as fresh. I recommend this place to all home food lovers. Hospitality of the family is excellent. They treat us like their relatives.
The food was delicious & the lassi so delicious. You get a homely feeling. The service was perfect & the people who run the business are friendly. Hats-off to the woman who cooks the food & her family who manages the business. Must visit to have a taste of home away from home.
One of the best cafe based on home food concept. Everything is prepared in front of the eyes and hygenic to the core. The hospitality is amazing and you would never regret the time you spend waiting to taste their food. 100% recommended for any home food lovers.
Absolutely amazing staff with beautiful home cooked food, all easily accessible for tourists who want to try new food. Going back a second time just to have the mothers food.
Is a family restaurant, everyone is very friendly, the food is good and prepared at the moment and prices are reasonable. The place is on the second floor don't be scared by the condition of the stairs ;)
Homely people. Tasty food. Quite Economical. Friendly Hosts. Do give a visit for a taste of home made, authentic local delicacies. Run by family members who would serve you with a smile. We enjoyed hope you would too.
The best place to have food. The place is all about home food. A great homely ambience and even better food. A great place managed by very lovely and welcoming family. They make you feel as their own family. The food is awesome with some hospitality.
If you want to eat homely tasty food this is the place to be.
If you are looking for home made food run by a family, you gotta visit this place! Very friendly and humble people. They showed us pet parrots that they own. Sweet family with decent food.
Things that they can improve: 1.) Pricing is quite competative. Could be a little less considering that other full fledged restaurants provide better service. 2.) Waitering is currently reactive. This could be more proactive.
Ambience is not good, if damped walls and no music works for you then it's average, also if you are looking for home kitchen in price equivalent of a 4 star hotel you can go there.
Amazing family restaurant. If you are looking for traditional home made local food, come by for a taste of the best! Freshly made by a mother, herself.
Good food in terms of taste and quantity. Nice and home made food. Excellent variety of dishes in menu. Food is perpared in front of you. Recommended for both forigners and Indians
Really great and fresh food! But hands down, the best thing in this restaurant are the cool and super friendly people who are running it. We often try dishes we’ve never had, and did so at Bamboo; the paneer was delicious. They have both inside and rooftop sitting. Highly recommended.
The location is quite good exactly beside the main road. The interiors & furnitures were simple, colourful and pleasing to my eyes. The food was also quite satisfactory viewing the quantity & quality. I ordered for a Chicken Biriyani ; and the best part is it was not so oily but the taste was surprisingly nice. The price was affordable. The best part was the homely behavior & treatment of the owner - this factor pleased me alot.
Good breakfast served with smile by Shoib. I recommend this friendly café on the roof top! The local Cafe/Restaurant is great! The food is very good, but especially the friendly and open-minded staff (the indian family) made the spontaneous visit unforgettable. I recommend the Cafe/Restaurant for everyone who loves good local food and who wants to share some experiences
Things were not present as per the reviews. They were more like this is what we have prepared either eat it or leave it we cannot do anything about that.
The local Cafe/Restaurant is great! The food is very good, but especially the friendly and open-minded staff (the indian family) made the spontaneous visit unforgettable. I recommend the Cafe/Restaurant for everyone who loves good local food and who wants to share some experiences and spend some time with the indian family.
Fabulous home run restaurant, got to try out some different Indian dishes with the help of Shohaib. Lovely food would definitely recommend this rooftop place very close to Taj Mahal.
Small and very pleasant family restaurant. We really enjoyed being able to share a meal with the whole family, a real moment of authenticity and sharing. On the kitchen side, everything is done in front of you by the mother, simple, efficient, hearty and very inexpensive meals. Perfect place for bagpackers, I highly recommend to eat on the go and meet this beautiful family. Special mention for the private course on the history of the Taj
Nice food but the best thing about this place is the family running it. The young son was very charming and an excellent waiter! His father was also very nice.
Best food in the neighbourhood! Everything home-made, not spicy if you don't want to, and really goood value for the money. The whole family is great, and we had a lovely time so we came back for more. Would definitely recommend it
We came here based on many good review this place got. To our surprise the food was tasteless and the portions are small. We ordered butter chicken and curry paneer with vegetables. The chicken was a bit raw and no taste at all. The curry paneer with vegetables was good. We completed our orders with rice and naan. The naan was another disappointment. We suspected that it was already cooked and frozen. Not fresh at all. Inside the naan was cold. We couldn’t finished it. Not crispy, cold and chewing it was tiresome since it feels like rubber. We ordered banana chocolate pancake and once again we were regretted from what we got. Actually we dine there but after we went to somewhere else because we were still hungry. Price is okay. But I wouldn’t go back.
