Whole campus is really well maintained and all staffs are very well behaved and every lecture hall, labs, play ground, road very clean and properly maintained.

It is an institute which has all basic infrastructure but the shopping complexes reminds me old type of markets. You can find daily need items but no enthusiasm in environment of the complexes but yes still better as you have no option.

College Infrastructure

The college has all necessary infrastructure, all facilities, and all equipments as well. The class rooms are well ventilated, wifi enabled (the connectivity is not that much good) excellent library that contains all books.

Academics

The academics portion is appreciable. The Teachers are well educated and well qualified. I am studying engineering in electronics and the quality of teaching is literally very nice. Yes, my curriculum is updated and is up-to-date. The approach of the teachers is industry oriented.

Placements

The college holds good placements record, many companies like Amazon and samsung visit the college and provides jobs as well as many internships. The average salary offered is 6 lakhs per annum. Yes my college is supportive in building a man overall and produce great engineers with great skills.

Value-for-money

The answer to the value of money is definitely a yes. The fee is affordable and fee is around 80K per annum. Yes I am getting my money's worth, the college fees as per the curriculum is affordable one. The fees in other college is about 3 L per year but my total degree will costs 3L, which is itself amusing.

Campus Life

The campus life is amazing. One can get great exposure, the canteen and the sports facility adds the glory to the campus life. One can indulge himself in many cultural activities. There are societies also and competitions are organized time to time. We have lots of technical and cultural societies.

Anything Else

You will love the college nd will get all necessary information. The college is located next to metro station. And thus ensures good connectivity to delhi NCR. The Societies will add love to your college

IIT Kanpur is located on the Grand Trunk Road, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of Kanpur City and measures close to 420 hectares (1,000 acres). This land was donated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1960 and by March 1963 the Institute had moved to its current location. The institute has around 6478 students with 3938 undergraduate students and 2540 postgraduate students and about 500 research associates.

Established in 1960 as one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology, the institute was created with the assistance of a consortium of nine US research universities as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP).
IIT Kanpur was established by an Act of Parliament in 1959. The institute was started in December 1959 in a room in the canteen building of the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute at Agricultural Gardens in Kanpur. In 1963, the institute moved to its present location, on the Grand Trunk Road near the locality of Kalyanpur in Kanpur district.  The campus was designed by Achyut Kavinde in a modernist style.

During the first ten years of its existence, a consortium of nine US universities (namely MIT,  UCB,  California Institute of Technology,  Princeton University,  Carnegie Institute of Technology,  University of Michigan,  Ohio State University,  Case Institute of Technology and Purdue University) helped set up IIT Kanpur's research laboratories and academic programmes under the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP).  The first Director of the Institute was P. K. Kelkar  (after whom the Central Library was renamed in 2002).

Under the guidance of economist John Kenneth Galbraith, IIT Kanpur was the first institute in India to offer Computer scienceeducation.  The earliest computer courses were started at IIT Kanpur in August 1963 on an IBM 1620 system. The initiative for computer education came from the Electrical engineering department, then under the chairmanship of Prof.  H. K. Kesavan, who was concurrently the chairman of Electrical Engineering and head of the Computer Centre. Prof.  Harry Huskey of the University of California, Berkeley, who preceded Kesavan, helped  with the computer activity at IIT-Kanpur. In 1971, the institute began an independent academic program in Computer Science and Engineering, leading to M. Tech.and Ph. D.degrees.

In 1972 the KIAP program ended, in part because of tensions due to the U. S.support of Pakistan. Government funding was also reduced as a reaction to the sentiment that the IIT's were contributing to the brain drain.

The institute's annual technical festival,  Techkriti, was first started in 1995.

IIT Kharagpur is among the few places in India which give access to a Bloomberg terminal. This is one of the few things KGP has to offer to help you leap forward on the non-core career path. So, if you are a non-core aspirant, the place is heaven for. Greater flexibility in the course framework should be there. Most importantly I would love to have better Gender ratio here. Some departments should enhance their framework for placement. Also, departments like Aerospace Eng.should be merged with the Mechanical department, as it will lead to the opening of many Companies for Aero students as well.
