It is one of the best place to visit in Gorakhpur. The main temple is surrounded by many other temples. There is a boating pond in the vicinity with ducks and fishes. There is proper place for keeping shoes and the area is clean and well maintained. Police officials also roam for security reasons. Fooding facilities are available outside the entrance. इस मठ के पीछे मन्दिर प्रांगण के अंदर ही थोड़ी दूरी लगभग 100 कदम पर जहाँ साधुओ या श्रद्धालुओं के लिए नहाने, धोने या शौच की व्यवस्था की गई है, बहुत खराब, गन्दी है।चारो ओर गन्दगी फैली है बेहतरीन आमो का बगीचा है लेकिन जिसकी देखभाल करने वाल कोई नही है, जिसमे चारो ओर गन्दगी पड़ी रहती है।पैदल चलना मुश्किल है।
मेरी इस review पढ़ने वाले श्रद्धालुओं से अपील है कि इस बात को वहाँ के मैनेजर या कोई भी जो इस काम को देखता है करता है पहुंचा दे।ताकि चारो ओर से ये साफ सुथरा और ज्यादा सुंदर नज़र आने लगे।

इस मठ के पास स्वयं का इतना बजट है कि ये अपने दम पर ये काम किया जा सकता है जरूरत है इस ओर ध्यान देने की।

In the records of the temple it is revealed that the Gorakhpur Gorakhnath Temple structure and shape was transformed over the period of time. In fact many attempts were made to destroy this temple during the rule of the Sultanate and Mughal era. First it was the Alaudin Khilji who destroyed the Gorakhnath temple in 14th century and later it was destroyed by yet another devout Islamic ruler of India Aurangzeb in 18th century.
The Khichdi Parv is observed every year on 14th of January which is also the day when Makar Sakranti is observed in India.
